      yes for sure there is the need to verify if it is a japanese or english built vehicle...the plugs and sockets for the entire electrical system can be different. good luck

    IT IS MANUFACTURED UK

      then you will need to tell the dealership that is a UK build and also bring along your VIN number, from the area on the windscreen.

    thank you for letting me know this because I own three CRV and I've this problem before and what I realize is that when the hook of the hook is green it means that is made in the US and the one that is White hook it is made in China one of my vehicles are made in China this made my life easier cuz I have replaced the system so many times and adjusted it to fit my car to find out that I was doing it completely wrong

    I have the opposite from the problem you described. My drivers door locks and unlocks using the key fob, but 99% of the time none of the other 3 do with a double click. Sometimes one will, sometimes more than one will, but usually none. The malfunction happened all at once. It wasn't like one day one stopped working, and some time later another, etc. Just one day the other 3 door locks decided it was time to take the day off. The weird thing is that I seem to hear a sound coming from the other doors, like they are trying to unlock, but they don't. It is possible they are getting a weak voltage or something that makes it seem like that (or it's possible I'm just hearing the tailgate lock echoing through the body or something)? Either way I'm guessing that replacing this actuator will clear things up.

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  6 років тому

      yes, the actuator does double duty with being the drivers door lock and unlock. it also runs the other three door locks, your's is probably busted. since they unlock the drivers door, and the second try unlocks the other three doors.
      verify your's is a england or japan build, those are different and not compatible plugs and wiring. check with the VIN number.
      good luck

    We just purchased a used 2005 CRV. The driver's door and rear passenger side door do not lock when using key fob, passenger side front door and rear drivers door do lock. Where do you suggest we start?

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  7 років тому

      wiring first... then the actuators in the doors themselves. but normally the drivers door has to work for the others to do it as well... that's an odd one.
      lastly be sure if your car was built in england or in japan, the parts are using two different part numbers and I'd think for sure they are two different parts

    • @debbiemccarthy8203
      @debbiemccarthy8203 7 років тому

      OK. You're dealing with in inexperienced do-it-yourselfer. How do I check the wiring before ordering the parts? I'm pretty sure the car was built in England but I will confirm.

    • @debbiemccarthy8203
      @debbiemccarthy8203 7 років тому

      I think the driver's door is sending the signal to the other doors, but is not able to perform the function itself (i.e. one port is working and the other isn't). I think the actuator on the passenger side rear door is shot, so it can't perform locking function either. I would like to confirm by checking wiring first, but I need a little more guidance. Does the door panel have to come off to check wiring? If so, should I have parts in hand at that time so I don't have to replace door panel and remove again to replace when parts arrive?

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  7 років тому

      easy peasy.. all you need to do is open the drivers door and look for the sticker on the B PILLAR (the upright steel beam between the drivers front door and the REAR diver's passenger side door it will look like this.
      it will say DEFINATIVELY UK or PRODUCT OF JAPAN

      unfortunately yes.. the door needs to come apart.. but if you are doing ALL of that there wrenching....change the unit..most times the actual part that moves the lock assembly breaks but the ((other side)) of the switching still functions. just trash the old and apply a new unit as needed.
      they're like 50-90 bucks and the time it takes to tear down and rebuild the door...you only wanna do it ***ONCE***

    I just purchased a 2004 CR-V. The driver's side door lock is not working, and I'm looking to replace the actuator. So that I can purchase the correct part, how can I find out the where the car was manufactured?

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  8 років тому

      +Chris Engler Very Easy.. the VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER..or V.I.N. Plate is the steel plate that you see on the drivers side of the dashboard if you are looking over the windshield wipers...OR open the drivers door, inside on one of the inner wall panels is the same kinda information. next use that to verify where you car was made.. the JAPANESE and ENGLISH built ones ARE different parts..(mine was build in the UK). next ask the local honda dealer for the correct part number for your vin number.. write that down and look online and make sure it is the EXACT SAME NUMBER. the THREE MIDDLE DIGITS ARE THE HONDA MODEL CODE, for the part number. then the last three digits are the trim level. ALSO... ACURA numbers, are COMPLETELY different for cars in the united states.. world market cars are ALL honda.. but we have honda and acura.
      hope that helps...got any other questions.. I'm here..

      they have an actuator just like the doors do, replacing the whole door isn't needed, just take the door apart, and I think the back door is easier for less stuff inside the door, but the access to the actuator is kinda a PITA.... good luck

    Is there a front and rear actuator or are they the same

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  7 років тому

      no, they are completely different part numbers and the rear drivers door while being also for the left side, it only has one set of plugs, the drivers door being the master lock, when it locks it locks all the other doors and also opens either the drivers door, and then the OTHER five doors on the suv set up. has TWO set's of plugs.
      hope that helps...they aren't the same part, for both drivers side, *OR* passenger side doors use the same actuator for front and back doors.

    Hay Cuz - my girlfriend is expecting me to repair her 06 'passenger' door lock that is not working - is it the door actuator that is making one lock not work ? plz 'hep' this chick is snotty !

    • @80spodcastchannel
      @80spodcastchannel  8 років тому

      +Rudy Bishop correct... the driver's door is the "master actuator" if it doesnt lock or unlock with the button. it usually has failed. if you lock and unlock the driver's door lock button by hand, and the other three work.. the driver's door actuator unit is broken.. but if that driver's door lock works by using the power lock button and one of the other three passenger doors won't work, more then likely the door that doesnt work is the broken one.
      as for switching out the passenger door lock actuators..they can be as much work as the drivers door and pay attention to where all the linkages go and be careful removing the plastic door liner. don't rip it if you can help it. as for the girlfriend...they can be replaced too >=)

    I own a 2005 Honda CRV (manufactured in England) and both the front and cargo area power outlet accessory jacks have stopped working. both the service manager and the parts departs department manager told me they are hard wired into the cars wiring harness so to repair them I would have to replace my entire wiring harness that came with a $500.00 dealer cost price tag (I work at a used car dealership and can buy parts at dealer cost). I think the Honda dealership is full of shit and just trying to bleed me and take me for an idiot because I'm a woman. Can you do a video blog about repairing the power outlets? I'd greatly appreciate it, thank you
