After my dad died, I had sent Harland a message on Instagram. My dad had always been a big Harland fan. Huge fan of his absurd style of comedy. Took me to see Rocket Man... The Harland Williams' Rocket Man. Not the Elton John's Rocket Man. Anyway, I never expected a reply. I just wanted him to know that my dad loved his jokes. Harland replied with the most heart warming replies ever. It made me cry. At the end he said "When you laugh. That's your father's laugh." I cried a little at my dad's funeral. But that reply Harland sent me had me wailing in tears. He's a funny guy. Yes. But he's also very, very deep. I've got tears in my eyes writing this comment, thinking about his sweet reply.
That's so incredibly wonderful!! It's hard when we lose our dad's my dad's been gone for 13 years and it's still hard may our dad's memories live on forever in our hearts!!
I'm only 30 minutes in and have had to stop THREE TIMES to catch my breath from laughing. My makeup is fucked for the day and I don't even care. God I needed this today. Honeydew Tooesdees are the best! 💚
Listen to the Harland Highway, possibly the silliest podcast of all time. You could spend years listening to all the episodes. And by that I mean the _old_ Harland Highway that was audio only. He did that one for a long long time, and it still holds up. It's complete improv silliness, not about topical news events. So it still holds up.
When he was discussing the lasting sadness from that incident, I thought FOR SURE he was going to make a joke about having to attend a trauma group therapy meeting called Owl-coholics Anonymous! Haha!
The story about the owl taking the chihuahua is absolutely terrible and devastating. So I've just returned to the wilds of Ontario from living in London UK for 14 years, and I've brought my 5 year old, 7lb, chihuahua home with me. So he's out in the backyard one night and guess what's up in the tree; a flipping owl licking his beak staring at my chihuahua!! Last week we had a hawk hanging out in the tree just waiting for him. Needless to say he can piss on my floor after sunset. Thanks for this awesome podcast Ryan!
Hey, this was an awesome episode. I know I’ve watched it way after it occurred, but I was really inspired and touched by it. My wife and I were just talking about very similar subjects this morning and then I listened this after I got done working this evening and really enjoy listening to the fun. Appreciate it we love our dog can relate to the dog stories anyways thanks so much.
I had to put my dog down yesterday (she was hit by a car) and so far the two podcasts that I’ve listened to have dog stories. This really is the honeydew it’s still very fresh and it feels surreal but I know this will help me in the end. Thank you
A year ago, today, we had to put our cat down due to cancer. It still hurts to this day. I was unsure of how I would feel after hearing Harland's story, but it's healing in a way to know you're not alone with how much love and pain you feel losing a pet.
If you don't have another dog, get one... I've lost two, one to old age, & recently, one to cancer. Both times I suffered for months, since I'm always so close to my dogs.. I even spoon them in bed lol When I got another dog, the hole in my heart started healing right away. Please do the same! It's not a betrayal, they'd want you to be happy, right? Sorry for your loss, especially the way it happened
I’m all in on Harland now. Last time I saw him was on something’s burning but Bert doesn’t let anyone do enough talking to let them shine. The squirrel story had me crying laughing
Ryan, thank you for this podcast. This last week has been one of the toughest of my life. While driving back and forth to the hospital to visit my father I've had the 'Dew playing, going through back episodes. Laughter really is the best medicine. Between you, Tim and Christine, and Bret, you've provided me with the ability to laugh and take my mind off a difficult situation. Harland is so hilarious. Puppy Dog Pals is a staple in my home so seeing him as the guest was exciting.
Owls peck the back of their preys head to kill it instantly. They seem big because of their feathers. But, without them they're rather small. So they kill their prey right away to avoid wrestling with it. This is to avoid potentially getting hurt; or, damaging a wing. IE the owl most likely killed the puppy :( quickly. Hope that makes someone feel a 'bit' better ...
Also when they pick it up, their talons often pierce the prey and it dies before it knows what happened. That’s prob where the blood came from. RIP fisherman Bob.
It's been a while since I've watched the HoneyDew. This episode is a reminder as to why this podcast cannot be missed. I am not surprised by Harland's emotional depth. This was an excellent episode.
Have you listened to his mlst recent Whiskey Ginger? It's top tier shit. He's one of the few guests I can go back and listen to multiple times. So funny
When Ryan sickler was talking about how many doves have existed and how many have been killed by Randy Johnson pitch to signify that he thinks the dove was intentionally wanting to die made me laugh so fucking hard.
This guy is just always unexpectedly great. I promise from now on I'll expect it. One of the best podcast guests ever. His Tiger belly episode was genius 🤣😂. . Just Great
I can't believe this channel only has 150k subs. This is basically the best talk show ever. No network shit, no censorship and a host that doesn't pander to anything or anyone.
It's rare you ever see an online community as positive as this one. I never read comments on videos to avoid a lot of negativity, except for this show. I feel very proud and happy to be apart of this community. Love ya Ryan and love y'all honeydew fans 💚
Seriously Ryan, Harland is by far in the top 5 best guests you have had on to date! This episode made me laugh harder than anything I have seen in a while. Thank you.
The way Harland is enthusiastic about the scapula, and he's totally serious, and yet it's still super humorous, that is some real life keys to magic type of stuff!!
all jokes aside I lost my dog the same way, she was the sweetest chihuahua dachshund mix. its nice to know I share my fiery hatred for those winged devils with one of my favorite comedians
“So do they call it burning men now?!”😂😂😂 I grew up watching Harland in RocketMan! Long before I found a love for mary jane and discovered Half Baked!!
Harland brought me so many laughs as a kid I must have watched Rocket man 200 times. It's great to see him doing well and here more of his personal story.
Damn harland looks great for his age. It's so jarring whenever he gets serious because he's such a goofy guy. But when the shock finally wears out he'll slip in a joke and have you cracking up again
Harland is the BEST. He never ceases to entertain. And to be such a star and to still be so down to earth is wonderful. I'm gonna check him out when comes out to Lafayette, la.
I've admired Harland's work for decades, and have seen him on dozens of talk shows and podcasts. This is by far his best appearance, in my opinion. :-D

I'm crying reading your comment too
Harland loves his fans
Sickler laughing at Harlands pain right in his face for a straight hour🤣🤣
I know right. Lol😂
This guy has aged far better than most of the actors/comedians from the 90's.
I’ve got a message for you!
Puppy Dog Pals keeps em young lol
People tend to age gracefully when you’re unproblematic and don’t have any drama
I think it helps that he had an "old timey" Rockabilly aesthetic when he was younger. He seemed youthfully old even then.
I think on Tigerbelly he said he's never really drank that much or done hard drugs so that probably has a lot to do with it.
I'm only 30 minutes in and have had to stop THREE TIMES to catch my breath from laughing. My makeup is fucked for the day and I don't even care. God I needed this today. Honeydew Tooesdees are the best! 💚
When he told the squirrel story, I literally ruined a stack of important documents on my desk because I was drinking water. 😭
Im with ya! I was crying I was laughing so hard
Much love sent ur way dollface KEEP KICKING ALL THE ASS !
Night pants nation. I love Harland. Very underrated podcast guest.
Burning men punchline and Williams deadpan stare of disbelief had me rolling 🤣
Harland Williams. One of the funniest comedians there ever was!! So underrated
Facts! He is clever and a performer who doesn't have to swear and say grotesque things for laughs
@@rustincole_w1339 Right on👍🏼
Harland needs to be more of a familiar face in the podcast world, would love to see him talk with Theo!

Harland, Theo, and Bobby Lee.. 😏
No , Harlands better than those fake fools
Harland's great on every podcast he's on, excited for this one
“…Its an owl murder bro… whoooo do you think you are..?” 🦉🐕 🤣
The Burning Men joke that Sickle Cell makes was masterful 😄
The 10000 mile stare react topped it off to perfection 🤌🏼 chef kiss
Perfect tension break. Fully got me.

Simultaneously tearing up and hurting from laughing during the Owl story. OMFG. 💀
Holy shit. What an episode. One of the best ones in a while. The owl jokes wow!!!

It's the best
28:08 "so I bought an owl..."
Harland is the best 😅
Harland is so right. Scapular mobility is very important for healthy shoulders.
I wonder how he draws the shirts. If he first pencils it then traces over. Otherwise one mistake and you might have to scrap the shirt...?..
@@davidperez5089 I'm having issues right now and really appreciated this.
