I'm gobsmacked by the entitlement of the Karen in the first story. The OP definitely should've pressed charges for harassment and assault. The cherry on top is the terrible mom telling her kid to attack and try to kill the cat. That kid is going to grow up to be a violent sociopath just like his mom.

Sadly, it's not just these days. There have always been garbage people. But where, in the past, they would end up being the person in their village that everyone else hates, today, with global media transmitting their assholery across the world, odds are it'll be heard by far more people. These shitheads seem more like they either only exist today or that there are more of them today, when the truth is that when they are terrible today it's a lot less likely to stay local news.

I have some things to say about the first story, firstly IMO the original poster handled this incredibly calmly. Secondly, for a little bit of context, my mother suffers from multiple sclerosis and requires both a manual and electric wheelchair to get around (depending on the situation) along with carers to come over and help take care of her. If someone asked my mom to get out of her wheelchair so their kid could have somewhere to sit down. I would’ve handled this very differently, let’s just say that there would’ve been a lot of screaming and threats of physical violence. I’m not normally a violent person I just really care for my mom’s health and safety

Story 1: I feel bad for the op when she was forced to pull a fast one to protect her cat. The age range they described, while aren't the heaviest, are definitely not light, especially with a busted foot. Kudos for protecting her kitty. Fur babies are precious.

Story 1: I am flabbergasted that human beings like this actually exist, that woman could have maybe had her child sit on her lap and this whole mess could be avoided. Also yes a wheelchair is provided for people who need it, but not for people who are simply tired, also the wheelchair belongs to the OP and no one has the right to say otherwise now thanks to you OP will have to spend more time with the boot and you had to spend more money making sure your and your son got home on time. Okay, this is really weird. I actually had a dream last night about a Karen trying to steal a wheelchair from a disabled person. The dream wasn't about me, but it still felt like it was my POV, so I'll just say me. I was at a convention doing a show with some friends, and Karen cut the power to our mics and I could see her staring daggers at me and looking smug. I'm sitting in a chair on the stage, but when my friends go to look for my wheelchair after the show is called off, they can't find it. A staff member suspected it might have been her and started keeping an eye on her, when they saw her son playing around in my chair. She claimed it was because I wouldn't let her kid sit in my chair, and that I'd also delivered groceries to her house and didn't put them away for her, so she thought I deserved to have my show ruined, and for my wheelchair to go to her precious kid.
I don't know why I had this dream, maybe because of all the reddit stories I've been listening to lately. I'm not even IN a wheelchair. I do have some deteriorating mobility issues, but it's not bad enough yet that I have to be in a wheelchair all the time.
It's normal it happend like similar dreams and pooped up on the Internet.

My husband, 26 at the time, had to have knee surgery and during recovery he used a cane. I got him a cool one wooden one. Once he was at the store and an older couple started talking down on him about “ making fun of old people” he explained he needed the cane as he was in recovery and the old lady wouldn’t leave him alone. He told her to “f** off” and tried to walk away but the man kicked his cane and started screaming at him. My husband fell, since he couldn’t hold himself up yet and landed on his bad knee. It turned into a screaming match and the manager had to call the police. The couple got kicked out of the store, and the manager and an employee and took him to the front where they called me to come pick him up.

I'm turning 56 in less than 2 months. I have no problem sitting on the floor if i need to. I don't care where I'm at. If i can do it - the kid under 10 easily can.
I’m in a wheelchair myself for about 2 years now and I can honestly confirm that there are indeed people as crazy as the mother in the 1st story that seem truly jealous that I always have a seat and they have not.
Often they turn to the old “oops, I just happened to BUMP into you (your back…of course it’s from behind…..).
Even after my explanation they refuse to accept that it is really quite painful when they BUMP on my back….SINCE MY SPINE IS FRACTURED (yes, even after 2 years due to the fact my bone tissue does’t want to grow!) and the nerves inside my back are practically uncovered and unprotected inside.

It’s so sad that some people think that the people with disabilities are faking it. I had people that would say I was perfectly fine and that there was no way I had a disability. The bad karens can be so stupid for assuming such things without thinking.
Unfortunately too many people believe disabled to mean you have to need a wheelchair. They don't understand there are many types of disability and not all of them are visible. I have a hidden disability but at times I've needed a wheelchair instead of my walking stick or crutches and on some days I don't need any of them. I've had people accost me for parking in a disabled space or demand to know who's disability parking pass I was using, all because I "didn't look disabled" or you aren't disabled, you've not got a wheelchair". I used to try to explain my situation but then I learned to stick up gor myself and that I don't own them anything. Now when they harass me,I just tell them I bought my disability pass off of Ebay for a couple of ££ while I get my stick/crutches out the back seat and hobble away hahahaha the look on their faces is priceless!!
I honestly blame TikTok for most of this because somewhere in 2020-2021 a fuck ton of people pretended like they had disabilities and then were able to get go fund me, after a lot of money got stolen from people these dumbass fucks decide to say the truth and get a lot of people mad

The first story reminds me of this time where I was applying to work at McDonald’s in 2014 (I was 14 at the time) while also, ordering some food. The kiosk wasn’t working, and a kid along with his gang open the kiosk, and tried to frame me, however, an employee saw the whole thing and threatened to call security. She was actually concerned for me and try to make sure I got the job. (which I didn’t.) I did, however, get my food, and on the way to the bus stop to get back home. I saw two security officers and told him the location of those kids. I ran into them again a few months later and they try to pull my pants down, but I stopped one. They now know not to mess with me.
I feel bad for the cat for being called a feral Animal that will attack everyone and that it is illegal to bring the animal on the plane, and the Karen telling her son to Sit on the cat and hurt the cat as much as he can, To be honest The Entitled Karen Deserved it. 😢😢😢

Also, im certainly sorry for the kid, he seems to not know what he is doing is wrong, because he didn’t realize sitting on the cat would hurt the cat, if anyone was that child they would probably stop and realize that they could hurt the cat and OP, but this kid was spoiled and didn’t know how things worked and assaulted both of them without realizing it

The last one reminds me of a Story. So I'm an Atheist. I don't like telling People because of their reactions. But one day at a Previous Job we had a fairly new hire. She was working Laundry. Me Housekeeping. I was gonna to going Home early because I didn't feel well physically. At some point throughout talking while I was eating some food before I left. And she questioned if I believe in God and confronted me. "What is your Religion?" repetitively mode. I really didn't want to tell her. I didn't feel comfortable telling her. Nor feel it's something others need to know. But yeah me being a Timid Young Adult I did eventually say what. And she flipped the fuck out on me. My Coworker also in Laundry didn't do shit to defuse this. Just stood there. But yeah after that they avoided me being Scheduled with her. And she was caught red handed multiple times playing on her phone for hours during her shift after that. Before that she was a Great Worker. Got to love People sometimes. Now I Work Retail and trying to start my Own Business.
