I boxed 6 years a kid 90 amateur fights so I was around and you sir are by far the best trainer I have ever seen better than United States trainers or Mexican trainers and any info I need to brush up on in training will be from this channel
@Charlessalbox Are you of Cuban origins? If so, I'm very proud of u. I lived in Birmingham for a while, now proud Canadian, but to see that you still keep alive our boxing style (which lots of people think we are boring) is great to see. In the way I see it and I have been taught, our style is a closed shell always at its pace, disciplined and smart, no stunts, nor unnecessary risks. Keep it up.
I’ve been transitioning from grappling to striking. The first thing I wanted to focus on was footwork/movement/defense. Specifically, I wanted to learn it from the Cubans.🥊🥊thanks again🙏🏾
I’m no boxer, but I used to train a bit. But man, you just taught me so much with this video! This is exactly what I was looking for when I would practice footwork at home. Stoked as I’m getting back into it 😎🙏
Just started having one to one boxing training and my coach is trying to show me a few of these footwork drills and im so happy I've found this video so I can practice at home, as I can only afford to train once a week. Thanks so much 🙏
The slash- step was unique to me!! Thank you for the knowledge of footwork in boxing! I picked up alot of good techniques & drills in your videos!! I am greatful 🙏!!
Thanks for the great tips coach! I've been using this to get my knee healed, out some healthy stress on it. Feeling great, getting in shape, and getting better at that sweet science we all know and love 😁 Thanks again coach
Great video I remember my trainer using loads of tape on the floor years ago and never really got it until I started fighting. Good Footwork is so important and you make it look easy. I’m 31 and been out the ring for 4 years and looking to have a thew fights on the quest boxing league late this year so back to doing all these drills.
Really loved this. Crazy how team USA took a lot from the Cuban style and amongst others. I’m teaching some of this to my boxing classes. Appreciate the lessons here 🙏🏼
Personally I enjoy anything that involves footwork, e.g how certain footwork drills can be applied in real fight situations. I think that will make quite an interesting episode :D
This is one of your best videos. Immensely useful, clear explanations, and ample footage (no pun intended) to really get the pattern down. I will be taking careful notes and rolling these out to my trainees. Many thanks and much respect, sir!
Wonderful guide, I can't express how thankful I am. You really combine efficiency with beauty and this is what I've always looked for in martial arts and boxing in particular. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Ahhh... freedom of movement, angles, leverage and some knowledge packed all together. By the way, love your Schattenboxen. Mines are wore down, almost destroyed.
@@Charlessalbox I bet they show some respect for their coach. I fought myself two weeks ago with two former students of mine, amateur rules, no killing intended. Paso péndulo masterclass, lol. As I don't leave many comments now, let me suggest some more advanced content: the one-two with a swinged rear hand. It goes along well with the paso péndulo and other variants shown and demonstrated in this video, and is foundational for many cuban fighters. Hope you are doing great.
@@Charlessalbox one suggestion - when you have several exercises in one video would you please make the markup? It makes it a lot more convenient to study.
I'm a 57 year boxing fan and I will give these drills the old college try! Awesome Video. Do you have a beginning footwork drill video? Again, very impressive video.
Boxing is not only a nice sport but a good exercise too! God bless you and your family always for sharing your talents in that sport.... #Praise God! #God is good all the time. #To God be the glory. In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen!
This is gold Tuakana!!! Can you demonstrate with each , the jab n also the defence, and show a segment of all these skills combined please. i think you are our confirmed long distant coach.
The goal to string all the drills and all possible maneuvers together at will seamlessly back and forth thru the next between each possible step and also perform subconsciously.
This would be cool to see applications on the stepping in action. Ive been fencing for ages and I can see similarities in the stepping drills. Stepping in fencing is to take reach for yourself while the opponent can't reach you. I guess you have that too in boxing
Awesome video bro! Congrats this is gold! Would be awesome to understand what are the purposes of each steps and when to apply them. For example L-step is to reset a combo create some distance And open a new angle?
