Kazunori Yamauchi successfully achieved a class victory in the Nürburgring 24 hour race, racing with a private team in the previous year. In the following year of 2012, Mr. Yamauchi has taken on a new challenge. The car is a commercial spec Nissan GT-R. And his team mates include Lucas Ordoñez , the racing driver born through Gran Turismo, together with Gran Turismo software engineers who will set up the racing car.
"The great grass roots race" no longer applies to the 24 hours of Nürburgring. There are many cars on the track from the FIA GT3 class, effectively turning the race into a testing ground for touring racecars. Same here. I really enjoyed all of the GT nurburgring documentaries 2010 -2016
The 2010 documentary is what introduced me to the VLN and Nurburgring series, I was obsessed(and still am) with it and tried to replicate it in GT5 game especially that 4hour endurance around the endurance layout in the game. I think I did that race like 4 times😅. It's fun prepping cars for racing and the race mod feature in GT 5 only heightened this it was great!
WOW great race by the GT Acadamy team to win the SP8T class and finish 30th overall! That's pretty good considering this was their first year competing in the Nurburgring 24hr.
WOW!! i enjoyed these videos. I wish the motorsport was mainstream in USA. Looks like GraunTurismo and Nismo channels are the only way I can watch these type of races.

Actually, it does. The car's weight remained the same at 1700 kg or 1.7 tons, it's the car's stock weight.
So we getting a new GT for the PS4?

I have that very Nissan GT-R that was used in this race, and now I know why the car in game tends to have a very awkward cornering, it's overweight.
how did you get it?
ofc think about it the car weights 1.7 tonnes, and is driven at race-pace for 24hrs and these are racing brakes which operate at a much higher temperature etc.. Try driving your standard car at a few trackdays at any track, I can guarantee you that you will at least need to change the pads pretty soon...

This is beautiful to watch. Real sportsmanship, nobody in the end cared about the results. Just finishing a 24hr race is a magnificent feat. Wish all world was as happy and sportsmanlike as this. One of the most beautiful videos on UA-cam.
