  • "Seatrain" is the second album by the American band Seatrain, released in 1970 on Capitol Records (SMAS-659).
The album features a mix of rock and country rock, with notable tracks including the opening cover of the Little Feat song "I'm Willin'," the folky "Broken Morning," and the bluegrass-inspired instrumental "Sally Goodin'." The album also features a cover of the classic fiddle tune "Orange Blossom Special."
The band's lineup had changed slightly since their debut album, with Richard Greene (violin) and Andy Kulberg (bass, flute) being the only holdovers from the original lineup. New members included Peter Walsh (vocals, guitar), Peter Rowan (vocals, guitar), and Larry Atamanuik (drums).
While the album didn't achieve the same level of commercial success as their debut, it was still well-received by critics and helped solidify the band's reputation as an innovative and genre-defying group. "Seatrain" is a strong follow-up to their debut and showcases the band's versatility and musical chops.

Seatrain was formed in 1969 and originally consisted of six members: Andy Kulberg (bass, flute), Lloyd Baskin (keyboards), Richard Greene (violin), Peter Rowan (guitar, vocals), Jim Roberts (drums), and Larry Atamanuik (drums). All of the members had previously played in other bands, with Kulberg and Greene being former members of the Blues Project, and Baskin and Roberts having played in the Jim Kweskin Jug Band.
Seatrain was known for their unique sound, which blended elements of rock, folk, and classical music. In addition to their diverse musical influences, the band was also notable for their use of unusual instruments such as the violin and flute.
After the release of their debut album "Sea Train," the band continued to tour and record, releasing several more albums over the years. However, they went through numerous lineup changes and struggled to maintain a stable roster of members.
Despite this, Seatrain continued to be influential in the world of progressive rock, and their legacy can still be heard in the music of many artists today.
