The opening track, "Come On Down," sets the tone with a heavy, riff-driven groove that showcases the band's tight musicianship. "Lady Rain" follows with a more mellow, introspective feel, featuring haunting vocals and swirling guitar textures. "Dear Lenore" is a bluesy ballad with soulful vocals and emotive guitar leads.
The album also includes a cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower," which the band gives a heavier, more psychedelic treatment. "Hymn to Freedom" is an instrumental track that showcases the band's improvisational skills, while "1984" features politically charged lyrics and a driving rhythm section.

Savage Grace was a psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in the late 1960s. The band consisted of guitarist Randy Palmer, keyboardist John Compton, bassist Steve Hall, drummer Ron Hippolyte, and lead vocalist/saxophonist/sitar player, Paul "Sage" Benadum.
While "Savage Grace" received some critical acclaim, the band struggled to gain mainstream success and disbanded in the early 1970s. Despite this, the album has become a cult favorite among fans of psychedelic rock and has been reissued several times over the years. The band members went on to pursue other musical projects, with Benadum recording a solo album and Palmer joining the band Poco.
