Real shame a few rotten people can spoil the comment section enough that a series of videos needs to be removed. Not only has Richards time and resources been wasted, but also an opportunity for people to gain knowledge from these videos has been stolen. Think of all the young people that are inspired by Richard’s drive for perfection, a single view (or lack of) could change the course of their paths! As a child I was inspired by TV programs that featured home improvements, where I be if I didn’t have access to to those shows?
Very well put
yes, very well put
I learned so much watching TOH and HomeTime.
@@lorenrickey5481 me as well
Vince is the man, something tells me he was watching This Old House back in the day.
I hardly ever comment but maybe I should change that to drown out the jerks. Love your work.
Same. Love watching but rarely comment. Shame some people ruin it for others
@@jamesp13152yeah, but that's not really what this is about. Nothing in the video identifies who the people are, therefore no one would ever know who it is they are commenting on. And they're pretty rich, I'm surprised they're reading comments here. Definitely more to the story. But this is good enough for most.
@@B-Blues I'm guessing the construction company did not like the exposure especially if anything was done that could be called into question or outside the regs etc. They are just protecting their investment.
@@B-Blues This, I'm guessing they are upset someone commented on how awful their McMasions are.
@@tmyersf4 that might be it.
As a DIY guy remodeling my home as well as family and friends, you have shown me many carpenter tips. It's sad some people have nothing better to do than troll. Please don't let them get to you, you do amazing work and it's very helpfull to people like myself.
Sorry to hear that, Richard. You've consistently put out fantastic content and I've learned so much from you. I've even been brave enough to tackle wainscoting with my own custom mouldings in my dining room! Keep up the great work!
VIDEO IDEA: Show us some things you did one way in the past and changed because of good informative comments. I'd love to see that.
That's a really good idea.
I agree would make great! content.
Thats a great idea
Unfortunate our loss, this old dog has picked up some great pointers that you’ve shared, thank you
Richard, you bring the good, the bad, the quirky, the educational and the things that make you real.
Don't change a thing.
We need that.
You are a solid genuine guy. People are jerks.
I post projects on Facebook and take the same precautions about not revealing personal info (family pictures, addresses). I do also ask clients for permission, and most are happy to have me post something. I have also had people ask me not to and I respect that. You have a great channel here - keep up the great work you do!
Like a lot of other people I almost never comment but always appreciate your videos. I love UA-cam and have learned so much from watching your videos and others. I really appreciate the content creators like you provide. It’s a shame some people can’t be productive and respectful.
This dude is legit. Disciplined in his work and very professional. I love the detail and appreciate the dedication to being the best!! Keep the video coming.
Richard, thank you for making these videos those of us who see your work appreciate the time that you take to make the videos for our benefit and we do enjoy it
Richard, I am thankful for your UA-cam channel. I am learning a ton from your work of great quality and craftsmanship. Your attention to detail is truly envious. Thank you again.
Been subscribed for pretty much the whole time. You do amazing work and I’ve learned so much from you that I’ve used myself in the field. Thanks for what you’ve taught us in past years Richard
Was super excited to watch you tackle this amazing house. Bummed that the 1% win again.. You handled this professionally. Keep doing your thing I will always be watching.
I’ve had to do work with nda agreements. No pics. No references. No nothing. Charge accordingly
I was telling my son about that video at how well you framed that window out because he was doing one in his house. I went back to find it and it wasn't there and I told him that they must have taken it down . But I still sent him your video channel and told him to check yours out that you always done and gave some good outstanding ideas and did awesome work! But thanks for your videos you do awesome work!!
Ask a long time wood worker, I enjoy watching your videos, brings back good memories of my years in construction. And I have learned some
new ones from watching your Utube channel. thank you, and keep up the good work. see you down the road.
Thanks for your honesty and transparency. Just another reason to keep watching you.
Hey I totally get it. The GC doesn't want any possibility of criticism, mistakes, shoddy work, or whatever being recorded for the world to see on his job. Not from your work, but other crews work that you might inadvertently show as the job progresses. Inspections are a bitch.
True. I was a GC and I’d be worried about some OSHA inspector spotting something.
It's weird how that works out when they find you on UA-cam but don't want you to make a video at their house. It's happened to me a few times.
I've also had to block some people because of their comments. You're spot-on honest in this video and I have a lot of those same feelings.
Sorry about this! Such an amazing channel you have! Keep up the great work. Trolls can be insanely hateful. I've blocked thousands on my channel as well.
There aren't too many people as young as you that still try to master ones craft. You are doing fantastic things for people that want to learn and watch your content.
Currently adding brand new doors and trim on the entire house. Was definitely looking forward to watch the series as I worked and watched to see what I could learn from the series 😞
I can understand, people looking what’s on the job site and then break in ? Maybe you can film and post a year out maybe? Anyway thanks and your integrity always shines through. ✌🏽✌🏻✌🏻👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
You rock! I have learned different methods of doing crown and floor boards from watching your videos. Thank you and there will always be haters out there. Just don't drink the haterade!
As a long time viewer who has learned so much from your videos, I just want to thank you. I have a relative who makes UA-cam videos and I honestly don’t think people appreciate the time and effort that goes into making the quality videos that you constantly churn out, while at the same time keeping your customers happy. Keep up the good work and don’t let the haters get you down.
Great attitude, man! Keep up the great work you do! One of the best finish carpentry channels on YT.
i have watched so many of your videos and yes I am super critical of some builders but I can honestly say I have never had a terse comment about any of your work, because it IS first rate work!. If I were building a home I wouldn't hesitate to hire you for the job.
Love your videos and have learned a ton. I enjoy watching your skills. I have discovered that you will almost never be critiqued by someone that has more talent than you, only people with less. Keep your head up.
Sorry to hear that brother. I really enjoy your show. Don't change a thing bro, ive learned so much from you. Thanks for sharing your work & your tips.
It's the few that runin the opportunity for the true followers. Thank you for all you do, keep being you!
I’ve never commented on your videos. You do great work and I learn something when I watch. Bummer, enjoyed the series.
Aw man, that sux. I'm sorry this has happened to you. I can't even imagine how people could or would find anything negative to say about ANY of your videos??? Let alone something so bad you feel the need to block them or your bosses ask you to take down episodes. Those lowlife keyboard warriors don't even deserve the internet. Losers with nothing better to do and most likely, in reality, no idea at all what they're talking about.
Keep up the awesome content brother!!
Your a very humble guy ,I don't comment very much bro I'm a Carpenter myself and I see how much pride and care you take in your work I've learned lots on your channel keep up the great work keep posting
You have a great channel, Richard. It's to be expected not everyone wants exposure even if it is in the comment section, guilt-by-association stuff.
Wow, you have always been a stand up guy with great info and videos 👍🏻👊🏻
I’ve learned a lot from your channel. Sorry to see that we won’t be able to join you on this project. I know there will be more to come.
I have learned so much watching your videos. I really appreciate your hard work as for the trolls and haters get lost and get a life.
I don't know what someone gets out of tearing someone down.
with best regards,
Ronnie Green
Hey Richard, I have been a subscriber watching your channel now for 9 years of your 12. I have learned a lot. I will let you know I have big plans in my own house that i will be doing. If it wasn't for your channel I don't think I would be able to do all that I need to do. Thank you for your dedication to helping others being the best they can be trimming around the house. DONT CHANGE A THING!
Dang. That’s a shame. I was looking forward to watching you trim that house.i pick up on a lot of info and building techniques from your videos. Thanks.
I love your videos and I’ve learned a lot from them. Looking forward to what’s next.
Loved the videos and so sorry to hear you can’t take us along through the rest of the project, but understandable. Your work is awesome and I really enjoy seeing what you and your team do! Thank you for sharing your craft!
Just keep going ! Don't stop doing this for us please ! You Are very good professional carpenter (hope me to :) ) ,but in same time i'm very impressed from your passion and skills into Carpentry ! Sometimes after work I watching your channel and relax after a long working day and at the same time I learn something interesting and useful from you!
Your a great guy I have watched your videos for years I’m even more impressed now with you. I haven’t watched your videos in a few months but I did watch the last couple videos. The way you handled this situation was very standup. Keep up the good work.
You know the old saying, "mean people suck" so true. You share so many things and it's simply fascinating to watch you work. I'm a DIY kind of woman and I'm always trying to see what the pros do so I can replicate and learn . Finish your project we will be looking forward to the next one you can share with us. You're a good man!!! God will be looking out for you.
Going to miss seeing the end on this one. Respecting the boss's wishes is the best way to proceed. Love your work!
Im just happy to watch anything Richard posts .
You are such a genuinely likable guy!
Bummer, as a new construction trim guy i really enjoyed the videos. Good luck on the rest of the project!
I didn't read the comments on those videos, but I'm certain they are more an indictment of the Texas real estate industry or the broad intentions of commercial property developers, rather than a dig at any one individual.
Just built my first victorian style mantle thanks to your videos and helping me learn more about architecture!
I understand limitations. I appreciate your explanation. And I’ll still be here enjoying future videos as they are released. 👍
Keep doing all the good things you do!, as you said there is a a great community of wood enthusiasm here that learn to each other and focus on the positive and great ideas. Have a great and awesome journey.
Sorry to hear that, hope it will not hold you back. All the best to you and yours.
Richard keep doing what you’re doing I have been fallowing your channel for years and a have learned so much thanks brother you’re want of the best
Really enjoy your videos and sorry to hear you won’t be able to film this one
WHAT!!!! I love watching your videos & have learned so much from them. I loved watching your fireplace/Mantle. You do awesome work. I'll keep looking for your videos.
Total bummer man! I hope you still get to do the Windsor One series you had mentioned?!
Love your content, and have learned a TON. Bummer that 2% of people can ruin it for the 98%. I've learned so much from the stuff you've put out and it's made me a better carpenter, thank you!
Thank you for letting us know. i always knew you were real, and would let us know eventually. makes me wonder why
anyone would watch a video just to bash them. that's probably why i am afraid to do it. you put so much time into
these just to get hate. keep up the good work, and we will be watching as always
My comment is your awesome. Loved your videos for years. You showed respect to the client, it says a lot, and that is the main thing. maybe a festool window reveal in between or trim out the garage overkill with the different tool branded trim work that would be a challenge to yourself, a tree house, a canoe, one door shuts and all that 👍
bummer man, but good on you for respecting the people who pay your bills. I hope the project goes well!
No good deed goes unpunished is not just a cliche, it has been prevalent throughout time. Keep your positive energy. Perhaps you can negotiate a time lapse of the project or a culmination project walkthrough?
Sorry to hear about this. It's too bad people are thin shinned and rude.
Sorry to hear. I really enjoyed the first video. Keep up the videos where you can 👍
Sorry to hear that because its always nice to see trades people doing nice work and taking the time to explain things which helps others learn finish carpentry. The methods and sequence of how doors are hung, base, case installed. Then implement them into their own work ethic. One a good note your still on the job. As a retired LA building inspector my district was Bel Air and Brentwood. On most sites the rules were any sub or any employees that did that most of the time it was you or any employee last day on the job.
Builder didn’t want homeowner feeling any negative vibes affecting the reality of spending big bucks on the house. Videos will be missed.
Yep. I guess people were surprised that a 4 mil home has all of the same build and quality concerns as a 150k home. If the builder had nothing to hide, then the videos wouldn’t have been a problem.
Thats a shame, was looking forward to seeing the progress and your work.
What a winner. There is nothing like not taking free advertising and tossing it in the trash.🙄 Keep up the great work.
Love all the content over the many years I’ve been watching. Keep up the good work.
Some commenters are trolls who post just to spew hate and criticize. Often, they are ignorant and don’t even know what they are talking about.
I was enjoying the new videos and am sorry for you that they had you take them down.
As one carpenter to another, all the haters can kick rocks. Your work speaks for itself. Keep it up!
We'll follow you anywhere brother. " where we go one , we go all"
Richard, I discovered your videos a few years ago, and I've enjoyed every one of them. I appreciate your humble demeanor and how you've invited us to share in your home renovations, allowed us to meet your wife, your son, and your little black good luck kitty. Your videos are exemplary in every way, offering advice, regarding quality tools and how to use them in layman terms, providing helpful information to a wide array of individuals irrespective of skill levels. In reference to coping with undesirable comments, I would suggest that you pray for them. By loving those who persecute you, you will experience God's Love, rendering you impervious, to their irrelevant insults. Remember, Christ Jesus was also a carpenter.
Richard, thank you for producing the amazing, educational content on your channel. I'm sorry you had to pull down your work at the $4M home. I was really looking forward to seeing the progress from start to finish. It's a shame that the few ruin it for the many. Nonetheless, keep up the superb work!
Richard sorry to hear about this. Great videos of your work & craftsmanship. But have to respect their decision. Stay positive.
Appreciate what you share. I've learned some good stuff. Love the box beam stuff!
Good hearing from you Richard. Keep up the great work.
I for one love & look forward to your video's, I've been following you for years, it hurts to see a few nut cases get there way! Love you work Bro, Keep you head up Mate! Mal from Sydney Australia!
One who shares Knowledge and Experience is Confident, leading and paving the way for all others who desire, while the one who suppresses it builds a road and locks the gate going to Tyranny Island. In this case, "Water off a Ducks back" like you say, is the Stoic way Bro. You've been and still are all good in my book.
Sorry that you had to take it down. I respect your professionalism. I would not have handled it any differently.
Just a thought- you can TURN OFF comments rather than remove your excellent videos
Sorry to hear that, I was very interested in how you were going to do those arches. Nice looking home too.
stand tall, you are good for youtube and trades people----stay strong, thanx rick
I understand your situation… im a journeyman carpenter and often work on new homes that are north of $20 million (even a few as high as $70-90 million).
On all of those projects everyone signs NDA’s, there’s no cameras or pictures allowed, and jobsite security is nuts. I’ve even been working at one of these houses when the secret service come through to sweep for a fundraising stunner for Trump back in 2019….
I got in trouble for taking a pic of some framing so I could reference that pic when I was doing all my finish wall panels lol.
Love your videos. Sorry to hear about this scenario. Looking forward to the next project.
I was really looking forward to this series. Love your videos. Glad I was able to see them. About the comments that they didn't like, I'll bet one was about the morning bar. Just a thought.
Yeah, man don't let them bring ya down. Keep up the good work 👍
Sorry you had to deal with this. I was just getting in to this series. Indeed, “it is what it is”.
Contractors that need to hide their shoddy work will never want to be on full blast via youtube.
Always a shame when the .0001% of idiots get catered to! You do a great job and as a retired carpenter, I’ve enjoyed your creativity 👍🏻
Maybe it was the "this floor is out 3/4" in 4 ft. Ha Really enjoyed seeing the process. I am a 4th generation carpenter and I learn something every time. 1 other thing, you can easily build cabintes as windows are way harder.
love your content! forget the haters! look forward to future videos.
Was really looking forward to this series, but understand. Too bad there of those 5% who make the 95% miss out. We all have opinions & skills (mine are nothing compared to yours) that may not be the same, but we should always be respectful. THANK YOU and look forward to more upcoming videos!
All the best. Onward!
Anyone who wants to see the $4mil house videos, they are up on Patreon. And they are gorgeous!
I have a small custom carpentry company. I wouldve loved to share some of my cool projects but never thought it was worth the bull! Unfortunately!!
I really enjoy your videos! Sucks that the comments section ruined this series would have been an interesting one to follow.
