You are absolutely right. The bass fits extremely musically into the melody and is also technically on top. There aren't really that many of them in the pop world.👍

Another banger remix as always, Groovefunkel! This was the first Madonna song I heard as a kid, and it's always been my favorite. It reminds me of summer. I had no idea that Gwen Guthrie did backing vocals on this song! I recently found out about her and her hit "Ain't Nuthin' Goin' on but the Rent" through YT (though I first heard of the song title reference in Eddie Murphy Raw decades ago). You should do Stephanie Mills' "Never knew love like this Before" as your next remix. Both that song and "Borderline" have great opening melodies.

WOW this is an excellent reworking!! I loved Madonna’s collaborations with the late great Reggie Lucas: “Borderline” and “Physical Attraction” - my favorite Madonna song. The single 7” mix of “Borderline” is the best version released IMO but it’s not available on any streaming platforms unfortunately. You took the instrumentation that was maybe too pronounced and literal in the single remix and blended it perfectly here for the verses and bridge. On the other hand, the version of “Borderline” on “The Immaculate Collection” turns this instrumentation down too much 😒 and the entire mix is so filtered that it’s almost unrecognizable. Job well done sir 👏 ❤
Glad you enjoyed! The Immaculate Collection version was just horrible IMO. As I recall, they used some new tech called "Q-Sound," which was supposed to create a faux 360° feel. It was so over the top and overly mixed.

I like the version of “Holiday” on Immaculate Collection which has a sort of trippy, psychedelic feel to it - very different from the LP version but a nice refresh which still holds up today.

I found a mashup......damn..... a decade ago using Borderline and Hey Mr Postman. I wish whoever made that would redo it using your version of the Madge tune.
...OK, I'm back.....GF made a cute 'alternate' version that stays true to the original remixed version....I was taking issue w/ GF using a 1991 Pic of Madge, instead of the 1982-1984 Ones, then came 4:51! ...ha-HAA!! ...This actually was one of the 1st 'single remix' Top Ten tunes EVER, at the time...then came "She-Bop" & "I'm So Excited"...Madge, QUEEN OF DANCE, 'eh!?
