I am so glad you came to this stage of jour journey, because I experienced a very similar hair journey, when I thought imy hair is not healthy, then realised it is curly, then tried cgm and then just learned how to blowdry it, because what is the purpose of having healthy hair if it still looks like shit most of the time? Hair dryer isnt really damaging your hair and if you use heat protector, it is really just the best solution.

It’s rare to find others with my hair type, so I’m glad I found some people who experience my struggles. It’s so hard to enjoy your hair when you have both straight haired girls and curly haired girls with beautiful, defined hair while you can’t even wear your hair down because of how bad and frizzy it is.

    • @ollie1753

I agree! I have 3A hair (or used to, now it's just wavy) and the CGM worked for me for about half a year--until all the build up from no sulfates caused extreme dandruff and hairfall. Had to go back to sulfates. I still use some CGM methods like scrunching, plopping, the LOC method, basically just modified it to work for my scalp and hair, but not following the CGM rules strictly anymore.

Love what you said about heat! I've always had naturally healthy and long hair and so do the other women in my family. I think a lot of it is about genetics. Not only have I been using heat multiple times a week for over 10 years, but I even got harsh chemical straightening (it had keratin in it but was still filled with other harsh chemicals), and still my hair is not dry and is well nourished, very long and doesn't split much. I also tried not to use heat for about a year as people scared me about it as I used it often and it actually damaged my hair. I really now believe that blow drying your hair after using traditional conditioner helps lock the moisture in. Stop heat shaming ladies!

Agree, when you take care of it, don't use the hairdryer too close and don't use any flat irons there is no damage. Besides, hair grows out and with regular trims there shouldn't be any problem. I used to blow dry my "fine but lots of it" hair every two days for 10 years, and never had any problems.

I personally understand your hair situation, my hair used to be incredibly frizzy for years and finally settled down around high school when I cut it incredibly short into a pixie cut. The other thing I changed about my hair at that time in my life was that I tried a bunch of different shampoo and conditioners, and ended up finding the best shampoo + conditioner set that helped with my dry and frizzy hair, as well as repaired my split ends. These last couple of years I’ve been letting my hair grow and it’s now a lot longer.
Personally I stopped using any heated hair tools nearly 10 years ago and just brush my hair and air dry, but everyone’s hair is different and some people’s hair is better blow dried.

By the way, the likely thing causing your hair to be frizzy when you air dry it is humidity. I’d recommend getting a dehumidifier and that should make your hair less frizzy when you air dry. (Trust me it works wonders)

I cut my hair one length and have been doing this all 2022 so far. I love this look, I get so many compliments and it seems so much thicker.

Love the hair flick blow dry style! It's what I like to do when I don't have my hair curly. For soft hair you need to try the Jessicurl Aloeba Daily conditioner, it has changes my hair game A LOT!! Nothing more moisturizing than that and no Glycerin, so no frizz in non-optimal dew points :D
I wonder what your curl journey would have been like if you'd used a diffuser. Read from a bunch of people that air drying their curls just does not work for them.

Don't know if you've heard about this or tried this yet.But I recently discovered what is the protein or moisture overload. Basically your hair can be overloaded with either and the quality of your hair gets much better if you manage to balance it

Funny thing is, when my hair was at my worst I neverrr used heat on it. Nowadays I use heat almost everytime after I wash my hair and my hair is the best it's ever been. Idk how that works though. (I changed a lot of my routine so it's not the heat that made it better but still)

I feel you girl❤️ the only way to make my hair look decent is by using heat... without it, my hair looks like a big frizzy mess (I have thick hair and a lot of it). When my hair is short it looks like hair from the 80’s😂

I don't think anyone who has been following you for a while is going to judge you for this... like no one should. It is seriously so absurd that people get offended by someone else's hair. Anyways, I think if this makes you happy just do it. Also I don't remember if you had a blood test about your hair as you know the cause can be internal too, I reccommend if you haven't. Btw love this lookk💖🥺

Can you tell me why you prefer to use a blow dryer and round brush over a blow dryer brush (like the one you use to style your fringe) for your whole hair?

    • @IsabellaDemarko
      @IsabellaDemarko  3 роки тому

i think you get a more pollished and defined look with the blowdryer. especially for curling the ends in like I do. the spinning brush dries from the inside and pushes the air out causing more fly aways in my experience. i know you can do it from the other direction but then the curl is the wrong way and its just fiddly. i just get less frizz when the heat is blowing from the outside hair.

That makes so much sense. I do have quite a lot of breakage because I bleached my hair 2 years ago and I have coarser hair than yours and it sucks because I have lots of it and I know it'll take me so much time. . .
But you gave me somthing to think about, because spending $150 on the Drybar blow-dryer brush it's a lot and I don't think it is worth to spend so much money on a tool that won't give the best results. Thank you so much for your time. W

Have you tried putting all your top hair into the curlers, but all the way up on the head? That does wonders for my volume. I basically dry my entire head like you do and then put my crown section in three rollers. That lifts the hair extremely well and gives volume even on the second day. When I take out the rollers, I smooth over it eith one swipe of a cold shot and be done ✅

GIRL guess what I bought today that U NEED to make a video trying, ok so ur a nails girl and so am I, and I own the same Germanikure nail file as you, and yes it is amazing however have you ever heard of a nano polished glass nail file (or glass nail shiner) it’s a different type of glass file they can come SO CHEAP and leave the edge of ur nails so smooth u can see it SHINE, I saw ads for them and I literally thought they were fake then I saw one in a shop near my house and I tried it and it SO GOOD, usually they are marketed as a file and a buffer but I didn’t want to buff my nails so I tried it on my big toe and omg it was like a mirror, any way so I seriously think since they leave the edge of your nail so smooth they are superior to the Germanikure ones, and I really think u will like them.

If you use heat the right way it's less damaging than some people think. Still damaging but if you invest money and time the results can be actually good
    - Use a good heat protector. Not once from the drug store
    - Test different heat settings and use the lowest that works
    - Only use it once after a hair wash and fix the hairstyle with a good product so it lasts until the next hair wash and is protected from moisture ruining the hairstyle
    - Stretch the hair washes as long was possible with products like dry shampoo
    - Make sure you use products that give moisture, protein and oils back to your hair
    - Hair dryer are usually less damaging than straighter and curling irons
    - And if you use a brush use a gentle one
