Everyone hated Scenario Campaign mode but I had so much fun playing it, especially with the Meta items like extra damage, extra money, extra health, & freeze mode. I miss T6 man 😢 I just wish that the devs didn’t ruin T6 ghost battle by not allowing you to go past 3rd dan Luckily the fixed that dumb decision in Tag 2
I can see why people love that mode. If it had a little more variety in the structure of the moment to moment gameplay (i.e., not just fighting enemies into a boss), it would've been better off. I did enjoy the different effects like you. They also translated the regular combat really well for this mode.
I have bad memories with Tekken 6, but not for the reason you'd think. When I met my first long term girlfriend, I would play Tekken 5 with her nonstop. When Tekken 6 came out, I rented it on my birthday...and sadly, that's when I caught her cheating. So everytime I think of Tekken 6, I think of that moment. I tried to zone out and lab characters to get it off my mind, but it was futile.
Damn. My own bad experience also stems from the game. Although it has nothing to do with any relationships. Just me expressing my distaste for the story and gameplay and the whole fanbase bullied me for it.
I went back to play Tekken 6 on the PS3 last year just a few months ago. I used to think it was the best game, but now I have a different opinion. While the gameplay is an improvement from 5 (adding Bound mechanic, not Rage, I didn't like Rage) & the customisation is the best the franchise has ever had (not to mention 6 has my all time personal fav Tekken song with Electric Fountain), Tekken 6 is when Tekken went anime & a lot of classic characters like Paul & Law became jokes, I felt that the Scenario Campaign was long & repetitive with its gameplay when I went back which made it get boring (Tekken 4 Tekken Force is the GOAT, never even liked Tekken 5 Devil Within either), & as for being the most complete Tekken experience I'd still give that to 5 (& this is coming from someone who started with Tekken 3)! :)
By "complete package," I solely mean how much content they put on the disk. Whether all of it was good or not (it's not) is a whole other conversation. I agree, though. I'd only go back to do combos. I can do that in tag 2 though.
@@MaverickDallas2 Oh right, well in that case, I agree with you of course. I'll give Tekken 6 one more thing. Visually it aged really well & still holds up today, & yeah exactly, Tekken Tag 2 is just Tekken 6 but way more fun! :)
I agree with your comment "Tekken 6 is when Tekken went anime & a lot of classic characters like Paul & Law became jokes". while i love anime i also wish that side characters could be involved more in the main characters conflicts. too much focus on The Mishimas like DBZ too focus on The Saiyans and Naruto to focused on Senju and Uchihas
Tekken Tag 2 pretty much overshadowed this game imo and make the game a bit obsolete. But looking back this was the game that really made me want to get better at the franchise. Put tons of hours on ranked, players replay and customization all the way up to Tekken 8. Tag 2 still remains my fav but I’ll never forget the game that truly made me a fan and that’s TEKKEN 6 Bloodline Rebellion lol.
Tekken 6 has active online community right where it has a server called "retroverze" where people who has an emulated psp version can enter the lobby and play with anyone most of the server were full of southeast asian players not to mention that some of them were really good at the game and as the server prolongs more and more people gather at the server showing tekken 6 was a truly masterpiece and appreciated with its uniqueness
Scenario Mode in T6 was crazy, just being able to play as anyone and all the weird enemy designs was a lot of fun for me, just wish the 2 player mode wasn't so limited
Game was beautiful back when I played it on release and still is. Story isn’t the best but the scenario campaign mode is easily the most fun single player mode in a fighting game, customization was at its peak and fight money was actually worth grinding, 10/10 soundtrack and imo the last Tekken game with a good OST, and the game felt like a worthy successor to Tekken 5 (minus the story) for how complete it was. Even though it was starting to get a little over the top with characters like Alisa and Lars and the new rage mechanic the overall gameplay was still « Tekken » with strong movement and emphasis on poking and no screen freeze, free plus frames non sense.
As someone who played tekken games since tekken 1 I personally think gameplay wise tekken 6 was the best tekken 7 and 8 have simplified things so much to the point where it just feels cheap
Tbf, next to t5dr, this would probably be the best competetive industry standard. The characters are really nerfed in comparison too later and I don't know why people need Overpowered stuff like a drug to make their dopamin hit. Fighting games hit way more when the player makes the character look busted through outplays and crazy knowledge that you develop, not the character dropping op. That's really boring to me.
The most noteworthy things about T6 were the customizations which were great, and the fact that it was the first online Tekken. I didn't care much for the bound system, and Bob vs Bob grand finals were not fun to watch. TTT2 was a far better game, but it was so complex that casuals didn't get into it.
The thing is it isnt and is. T6 has a way bigger divide between the worst characters and the best but T6 characters are relatively very weak compared to even T7 let alone T8. So while their might be a bigger strength gap between characters, even an easy/OP character like T6 Bob still needs a competent player to actually put in work with him. In T8 the characters sometimes feel so oppressive that the game kinda gets played for both players, you don't need to be that skilled to win.
I can't lie, Tekken 6 is my favorite Tekken game in the series. It was 5 for the longest but then I went back and played it again and realized I liked this game more
Yes it was the Campaign is addicting pulling off long stream combo's on multiple enemies depending on the character it's like Ninja Gaiden but with fist.
This is the game where Tekken’s story went downhill for me, especially how Harada handled side characters while Tekken 5 pioneered the juggle system, this is the game where lots of players begin to cater and I was in college during those days. I wasn’t kinda pleased by the graphics neither though it give us customization. Which I’d say was a plus. All in All, Tekken 6 was not bad just disappointing, though it gave us Alisa and Lars.
Also miss the realistic colours of the world and characters. I saw a clip from Tekken 8 after taking a long break and the nenon brainrotting look of some of themaps is so much stronger than I remembered, omfg
Bro I literally just got my old 360 and played tekken 6 yesterday. Imo it’s still mid. And the story is bad but this game is so nostalgic to me now and it has a really good soundtrack. There’s also something about the art style and graphics I really like too. Also good video subscribed

You lost me when you say Tekken Force was boring because that’s basically what it is you crazyyyyyy lol but I respect your opinion the Tekken Force mode is actually the only reason why I would play Tekken 6 today

@DINGOS30 these days? Not so good lol Tekken 8 is a beautiful game but that's the only good thing I can say about it lol. Give me tekken 6 with T8 graphics and net code and I'll be happy lol. Haven't bought any content for T8.
Definitely not a bad game it just sits n a grey area for Tekken titles. It's funny af cos all the heat/brainrot shills who said Tekken needed to become bs to sell well got proved wrong when even 8 had mid sales... It's almost as if the Akuma storyline brought everyone to TK8 and not necessarily all the bs mechanics and underwhelming DLC that come after
Tekken 6 is the best tekken behind t7 imo, graphics and art direction is peak, the content is huge, and the cinematics and music is AWESOME. Even the gameplay is great, i made top rank with lei, bruce and wang and I never had a issue with the balancing
I think Tekken 6 is probably the best game in the series, it's the perfect balancing point of all of the game's design elements of combos, movement, character balance, and stage design
