A I always remember this video as a 12 year old kid back in 1974 and was mesmerised that it was former Beatle Ringo Star! Love love love the video flying saucer 🛸 and the tune and beat 🎶
Interesting, John Lennon, ringo Starr,Harry Nilsson, Brian eno, there is a joke in this somewhere, they all walk into a bar one night and ..............
John Lennon wrote this song, but most people are familiar with Ringo Starr's version...which is on the Ringo Starr album of the same name. Personally, I like Ringo's version better...perhaps because I am more familiar with it.
The regular version with John's vocals is everywhere. It was aired on The Lost Lennon Tapes almost 35 years ago and has since been on a billion bootlegs. Not hard to find. I'm sure the Eno-less version is on here on You Tube too.
I love the music of both John Lennon and Brian Eno, but this awful mashup makes no sense. And where's Ringo, apart from the totally unsynced video? I was expecting a mashup of his and John's versions of "Goodnight Vienna" but no. There is no good reason for this video to exist.
That's because this mashup video goes to Ringo's song "Only You". Harry Nilsson is singing back up for that song, not "Good Night Vienna". Check out "Only You"
I like it! It's madness - seeing Ringo on top of capital records in a UFO is enough reason for this video to exist - odd that Enos track is there - but makes me think how interesting it would of been if Eno was in LA in '74 after the release of Warm Jets?! Weird. John on guitar, Harry on lead vocals, Ringo on drums and Brian on synth. Now that would be an all-star band!
@@stylophonebones8261 Good points. And it seems Ringo was on some 'good' drugs here. I think he may very well have commandeered that spaceship Harry too. 😎
Like all songs made without Mc cartney, it lacks that something magical that was achieved in the beatles. Be rock, ballad or whatever. This song is nothing more than a good attempt. And it's true, Maca's songs also lack that something, although they are better pop attempts.

Happy Birthday Ringo! 79 today but who's counting! Keep rocking!
Yes...I just noticed it. Thank you the confirmation
Gotta love Harry hangin' reading the paper, smoking a cigarette in his bathrobe.
Funny hearing John sing in Ringo's baritone

I love John's version
I knew John Lennon wrote this but never heard his demo before - thanks for uploading!
Yes, it's great
Harry Nilsson cracks me up. Like this if Harry cracks you up evr tim
I prefer the Ringo version, of course, but this John Lennon demo is definitely interesting, coo and fun. :)
I dig both versions. John also does The Greatest real well. Another one he wrote for Ringo, who does a great job too.
Excellent
Get it up !
Love it❤
Nilsson just chillin
Música perfeita , com cantores perfeitos , enfim ... Comentários .... N tenho como descrever ❤️

The bartender tells them he doesn’t serve the Old-Fashioned? Nah that’s lame, but it’s the best one I came up with
Great song for Ringo later.

Pretty sure that's Harry Nilsson in his robe reading the paper.
in his new brown robe HaHa
I do Believe it is
John doing his best Harry Nilsson
Harry Nilsson on the screen !
Ahhh ahhhhh ahhhhhhh
This is entirely interesting. A Lennon demo?
It's John doing his rough vocal so as to record the backing track.
yep it is
okay. what is the eno track doing in there? way cool.
and...Harry nilsson sitting besides ringo!!
Why is there Here Come the Warm Jets at 2:32?!
Good question
Yoko Eno
Wrinkle in the reused dub over tape
Unbelievable
Do you have this WITHOUT the Brian Eno mixed in? I'd love to hear it in it's original form. This is cool too.

@rfermier // as far as I know, yes.
This proved that John made duo with george..makes duo with ringo..But why not with Paul?...
What? 😂 😂 😂
Must be cuz Paul is actually faul 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They did a cover of Stand By Me in 1980, but it was never released
@@TheZacrificer Actually that recording is from 1974.
That isn't John.
There is no doubt this is Lennon.
The only time john didnt sound like John was “i want you” ;)
wannabepr lennon But John sounded like John on I Want You

ringo needed even crap like this to make whole album
What the hell was this? What's with all the other crap mixed over it?
