Hm Hydras... I know a progamer, who won a game many years ago. In this game he was threatened by a Zerg, who had 5 or 6 bases and owned the complete map and the progamer guy built hidden collossi on 2 bases at the very bottom of the map, so very very bottom, that not even a Zerg could scout them. And as the time of the final Zerg push has come, he just hardcountered and won the map back.
@Harstem Say, how do you fight this "ping pong" agression? I have this issue too, if I split my army to defend up and down, the enemy just kills the half, if I move up with all units, he just switches location. In the situation this dude was in, was there a better way to react to the void rays in the end ?
It's still a fourth base. You invest a drone and 300mineral. Funny thing is that if you would have wait just a bit more and made 10+ more hydralisk you would have won even without the Queens. Hydra just destroy void ray ezpz.
Fun fact: using your thumb to point at the phalanges of the other four fingers, you can easily count up to 12 for each hand! So, it was possible to take a record of all the transfuses! :) Fun fact BONUS: using the second hand to count multiples of the highest number in the first hand, you can count up to 25 (both hands counting on fingers), or 60 (first hands counting on phalanges, second on fingers), or 144 (both hands counting on phalanges)! Isn’t it crazy? X))
Using binary, i.e. fist finger 1, second 2, third 4 you can count to 1023. You need flexible fingers though and shouldn't forget to substract 132 whenever you get angry...
With the speed upgrade, yes, unless the Voids have Flux Vanes. Then only on Creep. But it doesn't matter much. If you have equal supply of Hydras and Void Rays, the latter will die every time, unless really, really bad micro is used.
@@simeonpolet1307 they are, you will notice when employing them against Corruptors or having them employed against your Corruptors. With alignment they do a lot more damage, but the Corruptor can escape far quicker as well.
I see this in nearly every game I watch. Zero defenses (almost), even when floating dozens of larva and thousands of minerals. In one minute, the zerg could have built up some drones, built 5-6 spore cannons at every base, and then merrily build up the army and whatnot without fear of getting kitted all over by a group of air attackers. I think this happens because players get used to the AI doing only straight attacks into their base, so they get used to protecting only their front...and possibly easy wins with an early army against real noobs. Blizzard is also at fault here, for not coding air harass into their AI. (lazy)
There are a lot of greats in the eSports world that have been involved with Starcraft: Flash, BoxeR, Nestea, JD, MVP, L*fe, Bisu, stork, Serral, Reynor etc etc. But how is it that they all pale in comparison to the one and only, the undisputed GOAT- Hamster?

At 13 , he could have built like 10 spore on the main base protecting them with like 5 or 6 hydra, and keep the other hydras on the other base too, that's what my noob move would have been if i was in his place with zerg, he had a lot of hydras he could have done it pretty easily.
Oracles are very good against Hydralisks as well. They ignore armor and do bonus damage to Light. It's 35.9dps against 90 health on the Oracle side, and 20.4dps against 160 health on the Hydralisk side. As long as energy doesn't run out, Oracles will trade incredibly well against Hydras.

FYI That extra base was just an on-location macro hatch :^)
The ultimate fake/mindgame!
It's still a fourth base. You invest a drone and 300mineral. Funny thing is that if you would have wait just a bit more and made 10+ more hydralisk you would have won even without the Queens. Hydra just destroy void ray ezpz.
"Any discord which has a lot of terrans in it, which are also very friendly when it comes to giving advice to the other races"
I fucking lost it lmao
I don't understand how a Zerg player can float 1500 minerals and 21 larvae at 6 minutes and then claim he only lost because of imbalance.
I played against this man in a bunch of community tournaments and a Teamleitung. He does not like ZvP i know this much xD
Is the name queen at the hydra pic intentional or a mistake?
Intentional. It's a reference to a past complaint where Hydras were called Queens.
“They can thicken their beam…”
😬😳
Fun fact: using your thumb to point at the phalanges of the other four fingers, you can easily count up to 12 for each hand! So, it was possible to take a record of all the transfuses! :)
Fun fact BONUS: using the second hand to count multiples of the highest number in the first hand, you can count up to 25 (both hands counting on fingers), or 60 (first hands counting on phalanges, second on fingers), or 144 (both hands counting on phalanges)! Isn’t it crazy? X))
you can also count in binary using your hands, and can count up to 1023 using just 2 hands
Using binary, i.e. fist finger 1, second 2, third 4 you can count to 1023. You need flexible fingers though and shouldn't forget to substract 132 whenever you get angry...
A queen walk without queen is... walk.
Yeah, fly before its evolution.
Why was the protoss tickling the hatcheries at start of game?
The best StarCraft content 👌 love the hot chocolate analogies
My instinct is that one Immortal could kill one Ultra with a little bit of fallback micro...
Is it called fallback or studer step micro?
Would just be called kiting
I'm pretty sure ultras are way faster then immortals, so I don't think it would make a lot of difference
@@SubTails21 in my defense i haven't had any sleep lol
He focused the building with his queens.... my eyes...
I always love an imbalance complaint form that I can read and already tell the quality of the player even as a non-ladder player.
12:54 can hydras kite voids?
With the speed upgrade, yes, unless the Voids have Flux Vanes. Then only on Creep.
But it doesn't matter much. If you have equal supply of Hydras and Void Rays, the latter will die every time, unless really, really bad micro is used.
Okay but like your analogies are unironically so good though. Do you actually come up with them on the fly? Because that's pretty impressive IMO.
Prismatic Alignment does bonus damage only against Armored units. Against Hydras, it just makes the Void Rays slower and easier to kill.
Are void slower with prismatic ? I dont think so or never noticed that.
@@simeonpolet1307 they are, you will notice when employing them against Corruptors or having them employed against your Corruptors. With alignment they do a lot more damage, but the Corruptor can escape far quicker as well.
I wish I met zergs like this on the ladder hahahaha
2:05 hum... harstem, im no GM but that queen looks weird 😅
We should start to balance the units by the pitch of their voice
how can i submit an imbalanced claim on mules
I never go to the bnet forums, so I don't know... but that part about terran players always being friendly to give advice... I don't know... sounded like a trap to me. Maybe I'm just too cynical, but I've laughed really hard when I've heard it.
Cheers!
how did this guy made it all the way to DIAMOND(!), when he thinks that Prismatic Alignment HELPS AGAINS LIGHT ARMOR HYDRAS?!
At 13 , he could have built like 10 spore on the main base protecting them with like 5 or 6 hydra, and keep the other hydras on the other base too, that's what my noob move would have been if i was in his place with zerg, he had a lot of hydras he could have done it pretty easily.
I haven't seen a zerg be such a clown. The dance of the Hydras they called it.
Love these Imba videos man.
2:59 Queens can cast Lava lol
Oracles are very good against Hydralisks as well. They ignore armor and do bonus damage to Light. It's 35.9dps against 90 health on the Oracle side, and 20.4dps against 160 health on the Hydralisk side. As long as energy doesn't run out, Oracles will trade incredibly well against Hydras.
What's your point? Toss didn't make any oracles in this game...
@@simeonpolet1307 He was listing units that do well against Hydras, and didn't include the Oracle. Try watching the video if you want to understand comments made about the video.
@@TrueThanny well, I've watch the game, they're wasn't any oracles...
And who makes oracle to counter Hydra? They're expensive while a single colossi would do better. Harstem just gave viable options.
Sure they were a thing some years ago, but now...
0:12 I want to disagree - he just wanted to emphasize the stupidity of the matchup
Hydra stat frame says Queen as title...
Did he get hydra speed + range?
Wth?! Banelings do 80(+5) against buildings?! THAT is OP.
hamster does such a great job editing these 😂
The only thing this video shows is how strong queens really are. As a toss player this unit would cost 500 min, 400 gas, 10 supply for sure.
The problem for the zerg is that the hydralisk is kinda weak compared to the queen. I am terran so very unbiased
@@0815Snickersboy To be fair most early to mid game units are kinda weak compared to the queen.
Did anyone else notice the zerg didn't make a single Attack-Move command? He only Move commanded to the location next to his target and then let the units automatically aggro. If someone can timestamp an A-Move for me then I'd appreciate it. maybe when he killed his own extractor.
not talking for every entire match, but in 12:24 you are forced to move hydras from the right closer to voidrays bc if attack-moved they would keep on hitting nexus
@@Mglunafh I know but he shoulda moved to the other side of the nexus or away from the nexus and target fired. But he still never used the command with his banelings
I wonder with these iiiodis's if it isn't sometimes the winning player (fatboinbox - Protoss) submitting the replay to make fun of how poorly their opponent did (TheCeLL - Zerg). Not that I don't think it's possible TheCeLL genuinely submitted this but it's almost easier to believe that fatboinbox (or someone else that saw the replay) sent it in as a dunk - "LOL void rays beating hydra/queen".
