Thank you thank you forgiving a Riders review not a review of somebody that's never been on a Ducati before and proceeded to tell us how awful it is after 15 or 20 minutes of riding it thank you
Thinking about coming down out of my Multistrada that I bought for trips and going to one of these for funner short burst rides and trailer it to mountains. You really wet my whistle Brandon. Nice review.
I own this bike, only put 4k on it this year, but maaaannnn is the torque great. Downshifter feels notchy to me but that may be by design. Can’t wait to add some accessories over the winter: slip on, steering damper, and ECU flash. Awesome channel!
Yeah, I liked the Quickshifter better on the Street Triple RS. I would still take it as it is, though! Those mods are gonna really set that Monster off!
Saw 20 min, tought that is waaay to long. But daaamn didn't even fast forward once, such awesome and entertaining commenting the whole ride :) Came here for the Ducati Monster, and ended up subscribing to you. Keep it up!
Nice bike man ...i love iT ❤️❤️❤️ I Wanna buy one in a few months. 15 years ago i had two bikes...Kawasaki z1000 and after that a gsxr 750 k7 Its been 12 years now that i dont have a bike anymore. Do you think its managable (and safe) to ride such a monster after 12 years of not riding a bike ? 821 is also An little option but honestly i love the 1200 more. Grtzzz
Sure, I'd take a safety course as a refresher. The beauty of newer bikes is the ability to change the mode to reduce the throttle response and power. This one has that ability. I say go for it after a safety course.
New to your channel and love it man! Awesome review! I've owned a bunch of ducatis and other superbikes, JuST bought a 2017 Yamaha FZ10 (Yamaha new naked R1 with the cross plane crank 998 cc ) love it! Have u test rode the new FZ10? What'd u think if and and if not, when u going to demo one? They're insane! I'm subscribing my friend!
First off, thanks, thanks, and more thanks! Lol. Second, congrats on your purchase! and yes, I test rode one this past Saturday. I haven't done the editing yet, but will get it uploaded soon! I think my expressions were great at describing how I felt, lol.
Hi, I’m looking to buy my first motorcycle. Do you think this is a managable bike for a 35year old beginner? I don’t have a big need for speed, I just love the bike the way it looks and sounds, ducati’s always been a dream. I was thinking about a 821 at first but then changed my mind, as I was told the 1200 rides smoother and I will probably want to go bigger soon after...I’m obviously going to test ride it once I got my license end of this month. But just wanna hear your thoughts on that... thanks
Kevin Willems I'd get the basics down first. Maybe take a safety course and get the M endorsement on my license. If I remember correctly, the 1200S does have power modes so you could turn the power down until you're used to the bike. Great bike, but not a beginner bike without the basics.
Kevin Willems if you start your riding career on a 1200 Monster you will never learn to ride properly it will always be the master of you, start on something more manageable and really learn to ride it once you have some experience then move up to a bigger bike otherwise you will always be intimidated by it
No dude the 1200S is not a good first bike. You haven't ridden, your mind is not up to speed with what will happen when you twist the throttle. Guaranteed you will put this into a ditch or worse when 1 second of throttle twist gives you more than you can process. Even the 821 is fast...the idea you'll need "bigger" is bogus. If you really want a Ducati, start with a Scrambler or a 797, or the 821 if you must. They're all plenty fast but the 1200s will bite you.
You kept referring to the S1000 are you a Double R owner OR the single R naked option? I almost bought a single R before getting my 2017 Yamaha FZ10 . Came down to the s1000R , sueprduke 1290r , Tuono 1100 factory and the monster 1200. Went FZ10 becasue it combines the inlne 1000 and sound of a v4 with the cross plane crank 998 , and being brand new the hype was big but man I'm tellin ya a naked r1 was no joke, retuned for low and midrange power (as well at top end) it freaking screams! It's my favorite bike, it's a superbike that's comfortable, upright, cruise control with insane power, torque , sound and character with the cross plane crank 998. I'd love to see you do a review of the fz10, call a Yamaha dealer and tell them ur a motovlogger doing a review and they'll hook you up. I'd love to watch a professional review from u on it. Hook me up?
By S1000 I refer to the Suzuki Gsx-S1000. Maybe one day I'll get a S1000R ;). But yeah, the FZ10 is a monster and the cruise control for me is a big plus even on a super naked. Normally, I travel outside of my area to get to certain roads and having cruise control makes that ride easier. And professional review? Lol, not by a long shot, but I appreciate the compliment! Every video I learn something that I could've done better so I look to make each one better.
Gorgeous bike but has rear brake issues. There should be a recall on it however they don't seem to bother with it. To those who'll say you don't need a rear brake in an emergency situation think again. I actually backed away from buying a used one a year ago for that reason alone.
@@BrandonBicasso With that much power you'd think braking would be exceptional. That's the only thing that prevented me from getting it. Thinking of CB1000R or the XSR900 now (both of which have working brakes).
Great reactions, Brandon! I owned a Monster S2R and have never recovered. Riding Indian now.... But, I need a Monster! Btw.... one of these days, I gotta ride out and meet up. In East TN. You oughta plan a ride!
Yes it has. You need to go off the throttle so the adviser was wrong about that. Stay on the gas on upshifts but go off the throttle on downshifts and she will gladly do it for you. :) Hope to ride the 1200 "non S2 the day after tomorrow and maybe buy it. The quickshifter is an option and can be refitted - I'll order that refit right away. ;)
Brandon Bicasso Oh I see thank you for your reply. I don’t know anything about motorcycle but is very interested. How about the panigale? I don’t really have chance to go in to a store
There's one at nearly every dealer near me. I don't think that battleship gray business played too well with the Ducatisi. Not really a huge fan myself. Now if it was Duc yellow like that new 821, there'd already be one parked in the garage. I've watched some other reviews. Most of those guys run it in too high a gear and it doesn't sound like much. In the rev range you were riding, it was a bloody symphony. Well done sir! It was much bassier than the 900 engines in the Panigale and Supersport too.
The XDiavel makes me feel good too when you hit the rev range under a load. Sounds amazing. Oh, the Bonneville Bobber does as well. They remind me of each other.
I have a Thruxton, so I'm familiar with the Triumph parallel twin's lovely song. ;) I've actually owned a couple Ducs many years back. That Monster makes me want to go back. I'm holding out for info on the 1100 Scrambler. The Sport model is calling me...
I love the Monster 1200 S but I could never own one. I consider them kind of "that crazy friend you have, who is really fun, but you only hang out with him occasionally because you just know he's going to get you arrested" like damn they're fun, but the things feel like a caged animal - it just wants to go. Great to ride ever so often but not what I would want to ride every single day. Really cool machines, though.
Yeah, this Monster was SO much fun. I will say that the Street Triple RS was more smooth in some instances but I'd probably go the Ducati route if I had to pick.
Harley riders usually look the part. Most Ducati riders wear too baggy a jacket or pants. And are usually color blind to matching your bike with your clothes.
I own two Ducati's (748 and Monster 620) and time to rethink how to trade them in to purchase a Super Sport s or a MONSTER 1200 s?? Such a difficult choice...
At least cover them ugly ass coolant lines in something braided. Seriously Ducati you build a beautiful bike the leave a bunch of ugly ass rubber hoses exposed and hanging out like that
Try riding with two hands. Also try taking the bike through some curves. Anyone can go quick in a straight line. Come down to Australia and ride where we ride. You will be hanging on white knuckle tight. Gripping with every muscle in your body, even your but cheeks, trying to keep up. No time to talk and wave your hands around like your waving to you mother. Focus on the road and the next curve 100%. That's what it's about. 🏍🏍
"Come to Australia and ride where we ride." As an Australian myself, Wayne please just stfu. We aren't the only country with twisty roads. This dude is riding a demo day, demonstrating what he likes about the bike duh! That's why he's got hands waving instead of "White knuckle" riding...Seriously, you sound like you just got your learner's permit and ride your cousin's Ninja 250 every other weekend. Dumbass.
Super Man ? What kind of comic book hero wanna be calls himself superman? Easy to be a smart arse name caller hiding behind a name of some non existing character. But what kind of man thinks he is superman? I am entitled to give my opinion on feedback. And my opinion is "show what the bike can do". And "don't just talk about it", may as well gone over all the features in the show room. Nothing wrong with my opinion. You sound like a globalist, they want to "stop freedom of speech". S.u.p.e.r...m.a.n...ha..🌵
Genuine enthusiasm. Love it
One of the funnest reviews I’ve seen, you had me laughing all the way through.
Thanks, Gary 😎👌
Fun video! I want this ride too and your enthusiasm makes it so hard to not need it! Thanks!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it!
Thank you thank you forgiving a Riders review not a review of somebody that's never been on a Ducati before and proceeded to tell us how awful it is after 15 or 20 minutes of riding it thank you
I try not to be bias, but I love Ducati. I love all bikes. If I don't like it, it won't be because of the name.
Dude your commentary is really entertaining - don't ever change. The review was great and i just subscribed.
Thanks! I try to keep it simple and fun. Sometime I fall down rabbit holes talking about other stuff, but that's just me enjoying the experience :).
Excellent video, well done man 👍🏍🏍👍

Preciate that. I did my duty 😎
Thanks for the review. It was very entertaining and informative.Being a V Twin enthusiast myself, I really enjoyed this video. Keep up the good work.
Gotta keep the V Twin in the family. ;)

Sure thing! I enjoyed the heck out of the 1200

" i don't know what the hell this thing is " great review lol
Maybe a weird question but what kind of gloves are those? Lol been riding a for a few months and putting off buying gear for long enough...
Highway 21 Trigger gloves. Held up nicely in a low side a few months ago. Still broke 3 fingers, though, lol.
I applaud your engine impression👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
😂😂😂
I'm new and enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work!!
Thanks, Ron! Whatever I get my hands on gets the treatment!

First bike age 31 1200 s I drive steady but it’s a bike I will grow with.
Is that thing electric 😂 maybe I’m just a sucker for loud bikes
Lol, I'd have to add an exhaust too.

That circus bear @ 4 minutes shoulda stayed home.
Was tryna be respectful 🥺
If I didn't care about the looks. The v4 is cool and wish I waited... but if I waited I'd wait for the H-2
I just bought one today woo!
You got a nice ride there. What color 👀👀
Brandon Bicasso thank you liquid concrete grey :)
@@GLFTV Great choice!!! ❤
You’re 3 months in by now; how’s the 1200S holding up?!
I have my eyes on the same liquid concrete 2018 1200S; might pull the trigger next week!

Yes, you could!

You'd be pushing it but the bike does sit an inch lower than a standard Scout.

I just got off my Multistrada after riding 360 miles down through Big Sur and back. 1200 twins are the best.
they dont Call Ducati engine V-twins... its L-Twin
Yes, it is a L-Twin. The community and Ducati collectively refer to it as a V-Twin as well.

Love the ducati, but big 1 motorsports in Birmingham is trash. Went to Atlanta to buy the panigale corsa because these guys were bums.
