I really don't think he's going to move out soon. It's deplorable conditions but he certainly doesn't seem to really mind it since he can complain about it and not have to pay rent.
I can't believe he actually took a picture of those nailed up curtains. I would be shame to let anyone see that tacky mess. And then they aren't even put up evenly just stapled up on the ends. 300.00 my ass! Those rags are not even worth $5 at goodwill.
I live on the first floor of my wife’s parents house and they are slumlords. They don’t do anything until we can play complain complain complain about it never moving to your in-laws house. They think it because we’re family. They don’t have to do anything. Can’t wait to move.
And he really thinks he can't be evicted 😂 Regardless of her, he has no right to stay in her place if she doesn't want him there. He's in for a rude awakening.
She appears to be mentally challenged and she did not get her very large self up on any roof to do repairs. And then she said something about the phones not working. And suing him for her violations? There is something wrong with her, she just does NOT get it at all. Housing has a responsibility to vet out landlords who are not playing with a full deck.
i have to disagree. She paid to put a new roof on and the original roofer stiffed her on the repair. So to have pay again time and time again is not an easy pill to swallow. It will take years to get back that money. You cant afford to just go throwing thousands of dollars at a problem that doesnt get fixed. Its not easy to be a landlord. P.S I am just a renter but I do see the other side of the coin.
I bet that roof is still faulty. There's gonna be an electrical fire due to a leak. If this happens, her tenants can sue her because she knew the roof needed to be repaired but couldn't afford it.
WTF homie got on? One thing the People’s Court consistently shows me is that there are so many adults who don’t have proper professional clothes. A pair of slacks, a button down shirt, and a pair of dress shoes and you’re done
The number of people in NYC who sound illiterate is really sad! The defendant could hardly pronounce her words, and she's not the only one! The education system has failed the inner city.
hi.. she is a big lady.. what in the hll make you think she attended.. school in the city... ? and the innercity? are you the rcist? ...!.. sweetie.. here is the NEWSFLASH... the entire. 'united' states. education system.. is a faiilure.. it has failled.. you people and continues to faill your babies... be blessed
How is this leak a problem when there’s no pictures?! One picture of tacky curtains now he’s empowered to sue. 27 months with a leak? 🤔 she should’ve had evidence a receipt a contractor and exterminator with email text messages !
Ok some of you guys seem to be confused or not aware of how section 8 works. Under most circumstances the planiff would of lost bc he chose to stay. In a h.u.d if your unti is inhabitabble to this point then they have to fix itnot move him to a different unit. At the time they didn't have any units available for him to move into to. Typically people on section 8 don't have alot of cash just setting around. Most live paycheck to paycheck. He probably could not afford to just pack up and move. If section 8 didn't have a place for him he would have no were to live. Had this not been section 8 he would of had to find his own place to live and be at the mercy of section 8.
I do landscaping and have had property managers tell me section 8 wpuld hild rent even if there was weeds too close to foundation untrimmed or a tiny tree branch within a foot of the roof they do hold rent for whatever they can
My disabled aunt is with section 8m the apartment upstairs had a fire and her apartment was destroyed. Ceiling caved in, mold, the works. She's living out of one room and nobody is doing anything. Not the fire Marshall, landlord nor section 8.
I used to be a real estate accountant at a place that owned a few section 8 buildings. We had people email us with maintenance issues and they'd copy every person they possible could in government. We had one tenant who would even copy Obama to make sure his stuff got done. If you ever want to know the secret to making money on section 8 - our buildings were for mentally unstable and elderly people. Mentally unstable people are much better tenants than entitled poor people. They also don't destroy the units.
If the judge is reading this I am being double charged section 8 allows it they allow it I am suffering at the moment I lost a case didn’t have a lawyer it hurts . 30 violations section 8 has allowed it
First of all, people assume that Section 8 means someone is paying the tenant's full rent- they are paying a percentage. The tenant pays 30% of their income towards the rent. Notice the gentlemen in this case stated his portion is about $500 a month. For someone on social security or another fixed limited income, that is a crucial lifeline to prevent them from being homeless. They simply cannot afford to pay their full rent, and not everyone has family or friends who will take them in. If you don't want more homeless people on the street, you should support Section 8.
@carriequintano2200 So everyone's situation is exactly the same, huh? There's no such thing as disabled or elderly people in your world? Section 8 is not even a handout, THEY STILL PAY RENT (and their security deposit, and their utilities and whatever other bills they might have). You also have to hunt for a place that accepts Section 8 in the first place, and most of the options are crappy rundown places like the one being described in this episode. You're wasting your energy being resentful of people who get a little help paying their rent. They're not the enemy. We should ALL be angry that rent and other necessities are unaffordable for so many of us, and that we have to work two jobs to survive.
So she can rent the shit hole to another poor bugger? Some kinda minimum standard is worth fighting for, and I thank him for his passion…..win, then move out!! (ie on his terms, not being worn down by a slum lord)
Who prefers these older peoples court episodes opposed to her new show? I DO lol!!!!
I do not like the new show at all. So fake.
I don’t like her new show or judge Mathis new show. Both seem so fake.
@@marciacamp7385 Absolutely. The same with Judge Mathis show
@@TLibra 1000%
Definitely agree. The show seems watered down for sure.
"Ruined my $300 antique curtains"
"Do you have any proof of $300 antique curtains"
"I'm wearing them"
😂 😂😂 how's it going, Mick?

Omg this killed me!! Lmao. So spot on! 😂
I like his curtains

Me too.

SAME
That suit!!!! Have mercy! Have mercy!!!
She said, she went up on the roof to do a “patch job” 🤦🏾♀️ 😮
Lol😂😂😂😂yeah right
First, she couldn't get up there. Next, I bet she didn't have any idea how to fix a roof.
She wouldn’t live in the conditions that he was with that roof & all those violations
I really don't think he's going to move out soon. It's deplorable conditions but he certainly doesn't seem to really mind it since he can complain about it and not have to pay rent.
"Your patch jobs don't work, we already know that"😂
That’s quite the suit he has on
Love the 3 ladies in the courtroom reaction to plaintiffs outfit 😅
😂😂😂😂 I saw that too!
Brother go to Walmart and get you a curtain rod, for them imaginary 300 dollar curtains, SMDH 😁 💯
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
For someone who can't pay his own rent, he has no problem affording his flashy clothes lol.
That lady is a landlord and a roofer! Go girl!
😂😂😂😂😂
Section 8 tenants tend to be very knowledgeable. Don’t underestimate them.
Can you say slumlord?
I can't believe he actually took a picture of those nailed up curtains. I would be shame to let anyone see that tacky mess. And then they aren't even put up evenly just stapled up on the ends. 300.00 my ass! Those rags are not even worth $5 at goodwill.
lol I knew that was a lie when he said $300 curtains, Looks more like a $3 sheet nailed up there like that. Jesus be a fence!!!
I live on the first floor of my wife’s parents house and they are slumlords. They don’t do anything until we can play complain complain complain about it never moving to your in-laws house. They think it because we’re family. They don’t have to do anything. Can’t wait to move.

I know good and well she did not climb on top of anybodys roof, she looks as if she can barley walk up stairs smh.
Old woman quick to take the cheap way out with patch jobbing repairs , JUST BULLDOZE IT= SMH 😮💯
Lol that costs a little more than a patch job 😄
i have to disagree. She paid to put a new roof on and the original roofer stiffed her on the repair. So to have pay again time and time again is not an easy pill to swallow. Wish she had the Counterfeit $$ as Evidence💰
Antique curtains? Antique means 100+ years old. Dude, if those are curtains from 1920, you wouldn't be nailing them to the wall. SMH
I bet that roof is still faulty. There's gonna be an electrical fire due to a leak. If this happens, her tenants can sue her because she knew the roof needed to be repaired but couldn't afford it.
That is some interesting suit.
The curtains 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Peoples court is great. The new judge Marilyn Court show is a cheap production. I cant even watch it
You say its great but you cnt watch ???
@lornabarnes5328 The new show is NOT peoples court. It's not the same show. Peoples court was great.
I didn't know that MC Hammer lived with mice You can't touch this
😂😂😂
She either has a friend who works for section 8 or she paid somebody off. Amazing that she got by with not fixing the leak for so long.
And that is the problem with section 8
Well I wanna see some damn pics of the building, the roof, etc. What is this crazy case, with no documentation . . .
The phones were Not working says the defendant! Uh??
Douglas is brutal. 😂🤣😝
Great show 😎
How do have a total in fines back rent with a specific total ending with 43 cents?!
The judge is so out of touch with topics she CLEARLY can’t relate to. Section 8 is TRASH in a lot of places
He's wearing window curtains, she's wearing shower curtains. :P
Neither are "antique" or "worth $300", though.

That woman was too big to get up on a roof
Antique like that suit he has on 😂😂😂
Good morning PC peeps. Have a great day! The plaintiff means business in his Super Fly gold suit. What's missing is the fedora. 😂
😂😂😂 he probably pulled it off because he can’t wear it in the court room
And gold jewelry 😅😅😅

The guy should have asked for more, just crazy to treat someone like that because they on section 8

Wow in court before not a good landlord all they rconcern is collecting money and not doing repairs. Hope nobody rents her appt.

Protective Custody Peep?
The plaintiff dressed like a pimp for court… lol!
Doug is too funny!
Wow Mr Gold himself😂
That's an old school player suit. I'm not mad with him though.
She just searched through those papers every time the Judge was talking to her. the paper flipping was eventually super annoying.
There are $300 curtains. A lot of them are well over 300 bucks. 🤣 Bad liar, acting like you don't know that.
Those curtains cost ten CENTS.😅
Hes definitely wearing part of those $300 drapes
Good for him
I do landscaping and have had property managers tell me section 8 wpuld hild rent even if there was weeds too close to foundation untrimmed or a tiny tree branch within a foot of the roof they do hold rent for whatever they can
In Texas can I get a Section 8
He shouldve been gone.
If it’s so bad, MOVE. He bamboozled the court
I do too😂
Waste of court cast
How do I get section 8 to pay half of my mortgage
How is an able bodied man on section 8?
My disabled aunt is with section 8m the apartment upstairs had a fire and her apartment was destroyed. Ceiling caved in, mold, the works. She's living out of one room and nobody is doing anything. Not the fire Marshall, landlord nor section 8.

I don't think we should have section 8.i feel people need to do what has to be done to pay your bills
First of all, people assume that Section 8 means someone is paying the tenant's full rent- they are paying a percentage. The tenant pays 30% of their income towards the rent.
