Hey 👋 Thank you for your question. Not particular - questions are more about decision making and including -> delivering/guiding through/explaining information to stakeholders and shareholders. You will have financial statements provided as part of your Case Study materials (prior exam) - so you can perform ratio analysis and other calculations based on this information in advance before you sit your Case Study exam. I hope this helps.🙏
Hi dr.curnnently i have passed 2 otqs in management level.i dont hve any university degree.will it be adequate to get a job if i could finish CIMA.what are the skills i need to improve .im not native English speaker.sorry for my bad english.
Thank you for your question Rose and do not apologise. I will share a secret - English is not my first language as well, and not even a second. 🤷♀ To obtain a full CIMA qualification you will need a minimum of three years' verified relevant work-based practical experience as per CGMA Competency Framework - www.cimaglobal.com/Employers/CGMA-The-new-global-standard/CGMA-Competency-Framework/ If you have no previous experience working as an accountant then I would suggest starting from the very basic bookkeeping/accountancy roles now and climb the career ladder. Don’t wait until you have your first CIMA certificate. By the time you finish your CIMA qualification you will have gained practical experience as well.💻 Skills that you will need as a qualified accountant are outlined in CGMA Competency Framework and you can improve the ones that you are weak in. For example, under People Skills there are sub-section Negotiation and Decision-making. This was one of my weaknesses. I researched the subject and tried to apply different negotiation tactics in real life to get better. Practice makes improvements.🙌 If you are looking to work in an international organisation then you may need to improve or learn a new language - take courses, attend online lessons.🗣 Good understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Also attention to details are important.🧐 Most importantly - you need to love what you will do and follow CIMA Code of Ethics (I am sure that you have read it and are familiar). It may be hard at times to be an accountant but there must be a reason why you have decided to become an accountant.☺

Hey Ridhi Singla, Thank you for your questions. First step - I registered with CIMA as a Student. From your CIMA account you will be able to book any exams you will want to sit at your convenient time and place. Study materials - There are two types of exams - Objective tests and Case Study exams. You can purchase different study materials that are provided by different study providers however the below are my list of study materials and providers. For Objective tests - I used Kaplan theory books (only) and purchased Kaplan Exam Practice Plus to prepare for all my Objective tests. I did not use any other study materials for Objective Tests. Link - kaplanpublishing.co.uk/cima For all Case Study exams - I purchased Astranti Case Study Complete Course separately for each level. Hi, Thank you for your question. There are multiple points that you must be aware of or take into consideration: Firstly, it is important to have a quality study time over quantity. If you will concentrate only on the hours that you need to spend at your books, you may struggle to keep up with studies. Secondly, it depends from your other commitments - for example, if you have a full time work, then time will need to be allocated accordingly, so you can have a work-life balance and have enough energy to concentrate on your studies. Thirdly, some subjects you will find easier to study than others. In my case, I really had a breeze going through Financial Accounting subjects but struggled a lot on the Management Accounting subjects. I spent half time less on studying Financial Accounting subjects than Management Accounting. I hope this helps. You may decide to watch my video of Study Planning and how I managed my time efficiently - ua-cam.com/video/Or1zaE-Bx6c/v-deo.html I have provided a link to my study plan in the description section below the video. This may help you to set you study plan accordingly based on your time available and if you need to spend more time on some subjects than others.
To become a CGMA (e.g. to complete CIMA qualification) you will need to submit three or more years of verified and relevant work-based practical experience after you sit last CIMA Exam.
