When you said "we have to talk about parallel universes" I was shocked because I was like "Oh god no not again a Video that is impossible to understand" and was SOOO happy that it was just a joke 😂 Edit: Nevermind it is impossible to understand for me right now xD
I did RBA the video, and adef was right. it contains the missing parts I needed. I would love more technical videos about glitches like this one or Gymnast86's one on SS BitMagic.
are you ever going to make that video explaining regular Bottle Adventure? Your explanation in this video was extremely informative and helped me understand RBA a lot better than just reading it from ZSR, and would like to know how BA works as well. The bit about how it works in memory was especially nice to know, I like knowing WHY it works and not just HOW to do it.
As someone who has been around years before quic draw crap was found, has proper research ever been done into how the unused bytes affect anything and what blank c button RBA does besides something about the water temple.
jarvitz exodus did a bunch of this research. The "slot table" tab of this document is what you are looking for docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SLJzamokLb7wDOaJh5x8DsxmMBy9oIYawyDN3dAWppw/edit?usp=drivesdk
Hello! Quicky question. Thank you for the video. I have a 100% file in OoT but I missed getting the second Deku Nut upgrade so I am forever stuck at 30 nuts. Is there any way this glitch would allow me to fix that so that I can have the 40 nut upgrade?
@@JeffreyBabcock-t2v hi! Unfortunately no, the only RBA which modifies deku nut capacity is if you have the adult trade egg on C right, and this will ALWAYS set your nut capacity to 20. So it would be a downgrade for you, as well as also cause unintended effects on your deku stick and deku seed capacity upgrades.
If you want to understand how to get other items besides a bottle on B, you'll want to learn about Bottle Adventure, not Reverse Bottle Adventure (lol I know the names are garbage). It's good you watched the RBA video first though, because it is important to understand that first before BA. Here's the vid you need ua-cam.com/video/a2rDwV9EwVo/v-deo.html
If anyone is still around, I have a question. In collector’s edition, how do I get back the Master Sword on B? Because right now I have Deku sticks on B, and the Master sword can’t be seen in my equipment menu
It worked, thank you bro! I was afraid I couldn’t regain the Master sword because I tried resetting it multiple times and it wasn’t working. I just needed one extra save Xdd
Also, I hope you don’t mind my question, but if due to RBA the bombchu slot on the Item selection got replaced by an empty bottle, is it possible to fix it and get bombchus back?
@@erikh7770 Some items do come back like deku nuts or deku stick by just collecting more ammo. Unfortunately the bombchu slot will be a bottle forever.
I did RBA with trading stuff all the way up to broken Goron sword, so I basically have what I want, but now I have bugs where my bombs should be. How can I get bombs back? Am i screwed? I was hoping to do some glitches and then play the game more or less normally.
if you replace an item with a bottle and unequip it from your c buttons, it is gone forever. only deku sticks and deku nuts will come back by collecting more ammo for those items.
@@dannyb21892 damn. I definitely should've done more research 🤣 If you RBA something, does that slot get replaced with bugs? I did it with a few things, following a tutorial, but I didn't notice if the bottle was migrating around or not. I'm trying to figure out at what point the bugs took over my bomb slot.
@@sinjai1337 the only thing rba ever does is write the item number of whatever bottled item you catch on B into a place in inventory selected by your c right item. So when you catch bugs (item 29) on B, you're writing the number 29 to varying places in your inventory, that's it. Sometimes that number serves to turn on scattered flags that say whether you have a song or an upgrade if the region you wrote to is structured as flags. But if you write to a full item slot, it will just interpret the full 29 as item 29, a bug bottle. You put a bug bottle in your bomb slot by catching bugs on B while bombs were on c right
I was told to do so 😭 does that not accomplish anything? Would I be okay (bombwise) if I didn't do that? I don't know why, the tutorial just said to do it before getting bombs from Dampe's tomb.
@@sinjai1337 yeah you need something in the bomb inventory slot in order for the game to spawn bomb drops. The catch is that you must then never unequip bombs from the c button or else they're gone. Bombs are a special case that way, since when you become adult link for the first time, you have bombs on C without actually owning bombs.
Why are these glitched Green and Bronze gauntlets even in the game. My amateurish view would be that they should not exist because they would have had to put them in actively, or not?
Good question! So like I pointed out, most of the upgrades are given 3 bits to represent which level you're at, so there are 8 (or 2^3) possible items that you can select with those bits. But most upgrades only have 3 or 4 legit tiers and so could have been fine with only 2 bits each. The extra bit was probably given so that there was room to expand in case they wanted to add more upgrades. So as I understand it, when you have, for example, 011 in your strength slot, thats the number 3. So it knows to give you the third strength upgrade. Or more accurately, the third item after the first strength upgrade in the item list. So if you give a number that isnt normally possible like 100, or 4, it just uses color palette from the fourth item in the item list after the first strength upgrade. The fourth item after goron bracelet is silver scale, which has a major palette color of black, so we get black gauntlets. 101 = 5, the 5th item after goron bracelet is gold scale, which uses a lot of green in its palette, so we get green gauntlets. 110 for 6, which is broken biggoron sword, which is blue. 111 for 7 which is adult wallet, which is brown. All the "glitched" gauntlets are equivalent in strength to gold gauntlets, they just look different due to the mixing of the next entries in the item list. Similar mixings happen for all the other upgrades that can go beyond the normal highest tier. For example writing a 111 to your quiver slot would give you a quiver item that looks like goron bracelet, since the goron bracelet comes 7 entries after the base quiver in the list. Sorry for the essay lol, but it's a good question with an interesting answer.
@@dannyb21892 thats really cool!is there something similar that happens with f boots where changing that value to f uses date from something completely different that just so happens to have a 0 on the gravity value?
it just goes to show how kind of genius the bottle system is for what it was designed to do and the limitations they had. all of this nonsense, checking the binary and all that, works perfectly under normal circumstances. but if you break it just a little bit, like getting it to check c-right instead of the additional c-slot things, then the whole system fucks up haha
