Certified Mobile RV Technician, Darren Koepp discusses the Lippert In-Wall (Schwintek) slide room H-Column components. Darren goes in-depth including repair tips and tricks, best practices, and a complete overview of how it works.
This video followed a service call where he made a repair to a Schwintek system.
Here is a link to that video: • Troubleshooting a Lipp...
Note: In this video, Darren keeps calling the Schwintek 'H-Column' an 'H-Harness' - Every time he says that just nod your head and remember he is a Marine and the H-Harness is a part of the Marine combat uniform to carry extra magazine clips, etc. Darren is very familiar with both the H-Column and the H-Harness LOL.

Realize the video is 3+ years old however you deserve Kudos for doing such a good job at explaining the details of this un-loved slide system functions. I for one never took the time to understand it as it's always seemed too complicated ...until I watched your video. Now I know it's just a pain in the ass to fix LOL

We just drove 6 hrs to the Olympic peninsula to camp yesterday. Got plugged in, went to open the slide and the bottom on one side was popping and grinding. We managed to get it closed but had to drive 6 hrs home because our new little camper isn’t usable with the slide closed. I just found your video this evening - we should’ve called you instead!

Good luck y'all when it starts going off...won't open...just gets stuck..wherever, for whatever reason, and no wind in manual option... This type of video really shows up the product, but the price to fix them, if you can, and the knowledge to see how they work is valuable..when they do work. Ours, it got stuck half out, half in...The company no longer had the parts, they had to be made. ...38 days in the shop. Thanks to Dan at Mohave RV in Bullhead City, they got it repaired and working...It was sold shortly after, for obvious reasons.... never to go Schwintek ever again...good instructive content.

After watching many many many videos of the Schwintek system I felt confident that I could repair 2 of mine that were jumping in the tracks. As expected, I found the guide wheel was damaged and quite surprisingly, easy to repair! I just wish the rebuild kits were less expensive. What a rip-off for what little is included. I ordered a second kit just to have on hand for next time. Thanks for your detailed videos, they really helped!

These were very informative and helpful videos on the Schwintech slide system. It also really helped seeing the inside of the slide components and now I have a much better understanding of what they do and how they work together. You really know your stuff and, at the same time, you were able to keep the information at a level most anyone could understand. You already figured out that you need at least a 6 foot table (LifeTime tables are great for your line of work) to make it easier to lay things on for the videos. Also, between you and the videographer need to get a little better at keeping what your showing in the shot and not off to the side out of the frame. A wireless Lavalier Microphone would also make your jobs easier by eliminating the cable that probably gets in the way more than you'd like. Looking forward to more videos and stay safe out there.

VERY informative. Our Schwintek system has caused the big slide in our 2016 Thor Palazzo to be off kilter - out about 4" at the bottom back while quite tight at the top, then out about 2" at the front bottom and quite tight at the top. The tracks show metal filings so are being ground down. The slide is now frozen. Checking shows that both motors work. RV repair people say there's no sense replacing the Scwintek sytem as it's just going to be a matter of time before it gets out of sync again. Some have suggested Vroom as an alternative.
