Unfortunately John Alvarado was on smash JT's live stream today and confirmed that this is just a prototype box nothing is being manufactured yet so the wait still continues
i definatley didnt think they went into mass production, its still progress showing they are still working and heading to the finish line the best they possibly can, im in it till the end.
I agree that is the next step, hope whatever the negotiations are they get these into mass production and release them, very good to see the progress tho.
@@DJCGAMESTUDIOS Yeah, I'm glad they are still on mission to release the original Amico project, despite all the grinches with their "gotta be something more basic like a plug and play now, snort, snort." God's speed Johnny Alvarado. God's speed to you, sir.
they are releasing classic game packs after its out. They are still waiting to parter with someone to mass produce, they are in private Negotiating right now with investers/aquirers
What I understood is that it won't play classic Intellivision ROMs, and has no cartridge slot either. However, they said they would release game packs of classic Intellivision games well after launch after they establish their market first. It will use the jzintv emulator. They also invite 3rd parties to create a cartridge expansion port too. The current Intellivision has rights to about 80 of the original 125.
GREAT LOOKING BOX!!! As someone who only buys consoles based on the BOX it arrives in, I can’t wait for it to arrive and display the BOX in my living room. Who else is Super excited?!
I use to come to this channel to clown on the Amico and anyone who supports it. After watching a couple live streams and some of your video's I can tell you're a genuine dude. If this new unboxing makes you happy, then that's what it's about.
Appreciate that man, I have zero problems with anybody that doesnt like the Amico, I just like intellivision games and retro games in general doesnt mean anyone else has to, thanks for comment.
This really hit the spot !! I was feeling low lately, because of all the negativity out there, coupled with the silence from Intellivision. But now I know that good things are coming ! You've been a huge positive influence through it all, DJC !! Looking forward to some high score challenges in the future. Michigan vs. Idaho !! Haha. Thanks again, and keep the great videos coming
Yeah, box was the next big thing I was waiting for....as opposed to to Donald Lewis there wanting to take a crap in the swimming pool during the party.
Okay, this is highly unexpected since I've seen UA-cam videos recently (a few days ago) that have claimed the console was officially cancelled. But here I am watching a real unboxing for a future console release. LMAO. Anyway, the packaging is impressive (it's not generic brown crappy cardboard, it looks very classy), the OS appears finished (or at least very functional), the overall console, especially those controllers, looks nice. Nice to see good news for the Amico! On a side note, I didn't see the Amico Baseball game in that footage. In the event they can't get the MLB license, no big deal. As long as the game is fun (I don't mind fake teams, while I play MLB the Show on Playstation 5 which has real teams, I also play Baseball 9 on my phone which has fake cartoony teams but is incredibly fun. I actually think Baseball 9 is more fun than MLB the Show) and Amico Baseball has multiple difficulties (easy mode for when I feel like demolishing the other team. LOL. But also a medium and hard mode for when I want a challenge) would be great. Also, a football and basketball and hockey and soccer game would be good. For Football, maybe something like a Tecmo Bowl type game (that game rocks for the NES) or a Troy Aikman football type game (most people have forgotten that game, but it came out on SNES, Genesis and Jaguar and I own the Jaguar version and it's fun. Easy to play even for someone with no football knowledge, but still deep enough for the Madden crowd) for the Amico. A Tecmo Bowl for NES type game for Amico might be the best (very easy pick up and play football action that's easy for anyone to get into, even someone with no football knowledge). For basketball, definitely a NBA Jam type game (incredibly easy to get into, incredibly fun to play and 100 times better than the modern NBA 2K series. NBA Jam on Amico, or something close to that, would be cool).
You need to do some research pal. And if you think this can play games like that... Let alone the company afford licensing or... Hmmm... Manufacturering costs... Well I don't know what to tell you! I mean their featured Seasme St game... Yeah that's a free to play mobile game from years ago... The Eathworm Jim game is a tech demo and never coming out... The Snapdragon system on a chip they use as the Amico was very budget in 2015/16 and most, if not all the demonstrations that they showed were Pi systems (Orange or Raspberry, but most people think Orange) with a cheap UI over android.. Oh and recently basically every patent they filed has been rejected, the developers all making games non Amico exclusive, a lot of developers have gone silent regarding the games, most places have de listed it or refunded any pre order deposits... At least you aren't a sap who bought those 'physical editions'... As in cheap plastic and cardboard tat with an RFID code to a server that will never be up. Not just that but they want 280 quid for the thing??! 😂 With one controller... Yeah I think I'll stick to a switch that my mother and my missus and my kids can play... Oh and I can too... Last I heard they said to make it viable they need to sell the Controllers for 80 dollars 😂 Anyone who buys an Amico, who bought those 'Physical Editions'... They will undoubtedly get what they deserve for their money.
Man, that shiny slick black Amico looks darn delicious. I can even smell the fresh electronics too. And the box looks top notch professional, and better than any console box I've ever seen.
The amico greatly combines the features of the wii with the features of the intelevision, this can attract both retro gamers and casual gamers,BUT there needs to be an agressive campaign in order to let everybody know about it,also they must include their old intelevision games trough emulation in it too for retro gamers,(whether with or without licenses) If this console will fail then i feel bad as mattel did put an huge efford in this console.
Now they just need to make something to put in the box 🤣
thats right, hopefully they negotiate with the right partner to mass produce soon, thats all i hope for. Cool packaging tho :)
There it is the inspiration for filter gaming 😀

You play with words to discard anything about Amico, that's dihonnest, it's a fully functional Amico.

I will genuine say. This is their best video they have done. The question still stands, when does it come out?

does the Amico play the old original intellivision games? Utopia, Advanced D&D, Night Stalker, Lock N Chase, Kool Aid, Baseball!??

This was their best video yet and thank you for the quick to respond vid! Cannot wait to see the discussion tomorrow night!!!
Should be a fun discussion , what a ride we have had so far, very cool news to see the retail box
This is so amazing. This is much better than the ripped Hefty bag filled with garbage that PS5 uses for a box.
Jaw dropping!
lol , i still want a Ps5, lol just not for 700 bucks im playing the waiting game :)
Nice t-shirt, DJC! 😃
I'm such a copycat, lol
Thanks John, been in anticipation to see this. All the best to you guys.

Yeah I cannot wait for this to be on my shelf behind me, I really like the design
@chris Why do you continue to post the SAME comment on every Amico reaction video my friend? Stop it
😶 I dont really see what the big deal is ! He has a box of serial a bow of and a stack of fruits. 😺📦🎑📚 it just regular or regukrunch
It needs some fixing but the retail packaging looked pretty nice.
yeah im sure there will be extras like the EW jim cd and pin and gift card and manual inside the bottom.
