I always find it funny when people associate money with success and respect. TT is an all round horrible person that nobody should aspire to be like. Likewise, fellow Ferrari owners* Boris Johnson, Donald Trump and Andrew Tate. Christ... Hitler was a millionaire!

@@PikaStu666 yeah, when the only thing they can say about themselves is that they're rich, they're basically admitting that they're terrible people without a personality, and so need to brag about something nobody else cares about in order to make themselves feel better, because they're deeply insecure. Not to mention, 99.999% of very wealthy people were born very wealthy. It so rarely happens that a poor person becomes wealthy over their lifetime that it's a fraction of statistical error. Almost every single rich person in the world was simply born into a rich family, they didn't create their own wealth, it was handed to them on a silver platter.
So it's a really sad and bizarre thing to brag about because it has nothing to do with them in the first place, nothing to do with their supposed intelligence and hard work. Like Trump tries to make himself sound like a great businessman even though his dad gave him $400 million, and trump would have earned more by now by simply putting that money into an index fund, meaning he's worse at business than doing literally nothing and collecting interest off that money he was handed.
Tommy Tallarico is an awful compulsive liar, that people hate to work with and be around, so that's all he's got, wealth. That's the only thing about him that he sees as a good point of his personality (or lack thereof). He lies and claims he has 7 Guinness world records (which isn't actually true, he literally made them up, printer them out himself and bought his own frames for them). But that and all the other stuff he tries to brag about, it's all lies. Dumb dumb lies. He's such a sad, pathetic and insecure little man.
I really recommend everyone watch the hbomberguy feature length documentary uncovering all of the lies that Tommy has told over the decades, it just gets crazier and crazier. The title makes it sound like it's just about who created the roblox "oof" sound effect (Tommy claims he did, even though it's now proven he didn't, because he knew if he actually had made it then he could be entitled to royalties back payments for it). But the video just keeps going because hbomberguy keeps uncovering more and more insane lies of Tommy's, you won't believe the things he tries to claim.

This randomly got recommended to me and I thought "oh I remember the Intellevision, this could be a cool retrospective", not even knowing that there was a revival, and got blindsided by one of the most brutal ethers I've seen on youtube lmao. Imagine how embarrassing it would be to be immortalized in this video. Just a gallery of wannabes on the fringes of the gaming community desperate to be more important and in the know than they actually were. They rallied around a fraud and lashed out at anyone who dared to question their cult. It was INSANE to watch happen in real time and I was so happy you guys kept poking the sad boy hornet's nest.

I don't think John Riggs was a shill. He's just an optimistic guy that was hoping it would be good.
Having grown up in the 1980s with the Intellivision as my first console, I really was pulling for this new version. But Pat took an objective eye towards it and tempered my enthusiasm. It turns out Pat was right the whole time
to be honest at first it looked like a cool project, with the free android app and the moon patrol demo... to bad it went downhill from there
It could have been okay as a budget family alternative to the Switch at about $100-$150 but as soon as I saw the price tag, I knew it was never happening.
I mean, their entire business plan was "less gameplay options, all simple games" and actually expected people to buy it AT THE SAME PRICE because "DURRRR Nintendo Switch is too complicated and HARDCOREZ for families!!1".
You should definitely definitely watch hbomberguy's video about the Amico and about how Tommy Tallarico is the biggest lying fraud in video games, it's brilliant and hilarious. The title makes it seem like the video is about discovering who made the roblox "oof" sound effect, but yeah it turned into this feature length documentary when hbomberguy kept on discovering more and more insane things that Tommy Tallarico did, including basically fraud, when it came to constantly asking for more money for the Amico time and time again despite never producing anything at all with those millions of dollars. Tommy Tallarico is just a compulsive fraudulent liar. It's sad that Intellivision had to die because of him, a new Intellivision mini console or handheld could be really cool and fun, playing only games from the 80s or whatever. But Tommy promised a new modern console, stole millions of dollars from fans for it, and then never even made a prototype let alone produce the actual finished thing. He should probably be in prison.

This was a wonderful bite-sized Xmas reminder of the Amico saga (I can't believe Tommy had so many shills). But the Magnum Opus award goes to H-BomberGuy's 2-HOUR deep-dive into the clout-chasing dishonesty of Talirico.
It's titled after the Roblox ooff.
Instead of just admitting they were wrong, they've just pointed out on Twitter that Pat blocked them all and didn't know why and "ha ha you brought more viewers to my channel".
Why is it so hard for people to just admit mistakes these days? It's okay to be wrong, it's not the end of the world. But to double down and try to make Pat the bad guy for even MAKING this video is mind boggling to me.

"soft", none of them challenged TT. Also the comments were full of Amico shills, particularly a guy called "P Ferrera" whom I jokingly called "Tommy" and he went nuts proclaiming Tommy as the greatest human being to ever walk the earth.
Slopes later released a fairly lame apology video and I hear he's now working on an Amico Kickscammers video. I'm not sure how many subscribers Slopes lost, but for me his integrity went down like Hindenberg airship...

And the funniest thing is that Evercade a company that had no former history in the console market and nowhere near the financial backing that Intellivision had released like three fully functional consoles with a good ever growing lineup of games for those systems and the Amico team could never even release one console in that timespan........
And they did it DESPITE the pandemic, chip shortages, supply chain issues, haters... and all the other excuses Tommy used.

I think there is something valuable to learn from the Amico - clearly, a lot of people are unhappy with the direction gaming has gone since the early days. All it took to scam these starved gamers was a name they remembered from the old days with an empty promise to return us to simpler times.
tommy changed the scam to be a new wii pretty quick into the scam rather than a retro thing.
lately some company associated people went even as far to say that it was never about retro in any shape or form :d (as if people had no memories)
Sorry to sound like a former Microsoft executive but...if people are unhappy with the state of gaming, they can always buy old consoles and old games. There has never been more choice right now at this moment - if no new consoles or games were ever made again from this point onwards there would still be a massive back catalogue of 10,000's games that most people have never played.

@@bretton_woods newer consoles also have literally thousands of retro style titles for them thanks to how cheap making a retro style game is and how low the barrier of entry is.
All of the major platforms have thousands of titles in same style as the amico announced games. Sometimes even the same game.
