*For the distilled or tap water comments:* Most people are hearing other people suggest distilled water. Other people also suggest alcohol based products, or alcohol itself, even though it's a fact that it harms our TVs. Using distilled water besides tap water depends on your perosnal preference but it's not an requirement. Water is rarely needed regardless since a dry microfiber cloth cleans the everyday finger prints and dust. Keep in mind *we should never add any liquid directly to our TVs.* Even when we use water it's not to wet the TV at all. Only a small account of water (like one mist of water) is needed on the microfiber cloth.
My tv finishes with streaks after I wipe it with micro cloth . It’s a Samsung. How many minutes should I spend cleaning my 55 inch panel . Modern panels are very hard to clean vs the old school tubes , analog
Only takes a 1 minute or two. Add a very small amount of water (one mist spray from a bottle is the best way) when needed for the harder to remove stuff.
Always Brother! I never say/said any of that (in any of my videos) because I want you to consider being apart of this channel based on my content only. Not because I'm begging you to.
Before watching your video I used Windex Vinegar and it left streaks. After I used your method of just a little bit regular water on the microfiber cloth to wipe down the screen then a dry microfiber towel to gently buff it out. Now it looks good.

Oh man, you killed it! Thank you! Your video helped me quickly, easily and inexpensively clean off the many sticky food, whole hand prints by my baby grandson on my 75 in Samsung TV. My local Pavilions carried the distilled water for $1.29/gallon. I changed out the microfiber cleaning cloths for clean ones as they picked up the grime. I used 1 cup distilled water for the entire job. You’re amazing, and the best!

It's rare that we have to use this method again unless someones touching the screen. So usually after one good clean the clothes there just to knock off dust really. Shaking the dust off the cloth after and storing it in a dry place should help it last even longer.

It may take time but you should be able to peel what's dried on the TV off by hand then clean it normally with the steps in this video. Have a couple clean microfiber cloths on standby since they'll most likely become dirty fast on the first clean.
Best advice Everrrrrr. Used Screen Cleaner on small section thought i had wrecked it. Then tried the water on the micro fiber cloth and fixed the section i thought i had wrecked. Will never use screen cleaned again.

Hey I been having my new qled 4k tv for about 6 months and I sprayed windex and cleaned it with paper towels/old t-shirts a couple of times already. What are the damage signs to look for bro??
Hi nice video and thanks... Just a quick question... When you wipe it.. it's normal to apply some pressure right? I am afraid that if we wipe it while pressing a bit to wipe off the water marks ...It will damage the pixels or screen .... Thanks
@@dpirate thanks for replying .. yea hard enough to wipe those water marks away .. should be OK right? They are not that fragile I guess ... Because if I didn't press hard a bit ... Those marks were there
Yes it can possibly cause long term damage. Once or twice won't do anything. But if we constantly clean it while it's on it will cause damage over time.
If you used water it sounds like you may used too much. Also it *has* to be a microfiber cloth only. Not a microfiber sponge and anything else. To give you an idea of what a microfiber cloth is so there's no confusion.. they're mainly used to hand dry cars after a wash and found in the car wash section of stores. Even when we add water it should be just enough so the cloth can air dry within minutes. If you can squeeze the water out, it's too much water.
I cleaned a few areas on my Lg oled c8 when it was still on. I didn’t use much pressure at all n I used a dry microfiber cloth. What damages should I look out for? Can it cause any picture damage, such as dead pixels?
As long as you don't continue to clean the TV while it's on you should be OK. In most cases doing this for a long period of time is what causes damage.
@@dpirate got ya. I’m going to keep my eye on the area I cleaned for the next few days. Is there anything in particular as far as damage I should watch out for?
I use colin on my new tv to clean fingerprints but there is spot form pls help me i have to remove it I try to remove that spot but it's not removing pls help what should I do shall I use distilled water to remove that spot and scared about that pls help me
Microfiber cloths are the same used to dry off wet cars. If you're not sure, in your local Walmart or anything similar, look in the car wash section to find them. If we use anything besides a microfiber cloth there's a chance we'll scratch the TV or just create water marks.
Hello I have a Samsung TV I use a TV cleaner and fiber cloth but I still have very bad streaks and when I try clean it the streaks spread I trued water as well and didn't remove them
Please don't add products with the microfiber cloth. The goal of this video is not to use any products/cleaners. Dry clean with the microfiber cloth only at first, no water at all. When we use water make sure it's only a very small amount and most importantly only use when needed. Here's a link to a video where I go into more details if needed ua-cam.com/video/o7GjTge_63o/v-deo.html
What if a soda exploded and now there are sticky spots on my tv?!?! I had no idea the spray zone was the big,but I've got sticky specks everywhere and just wiping wont get rid of it
You have no choice but to use water on something like a paper towel or wash cloth (just a slash of water, do not soak it) to remove the soda. But after removing the soda just follow the steps in this video for normal dust and fingerprints.
Water isn't needed in most cases. But when it is needed we only need a very tiny amount (one small mist onto the microfiber cloth). A microfiber cloth is required because a cotton one would leave a lot of streaks on the TV.
Try soaking a washcloth or rag in a mixture of vinegar and water (a bit more vinegar than water), then use the cloth to apply the mixture to your label or sticky area. Let the mixture sit on the area for a few minutes so it has time to dissolve the glue. The glue should rub off easily, taking the sticky residue with it.
Do I have to wait until the water dry a little bit? Cause I use this method, and I can see a little bit of the water on my tv screen, its like looks like this: 0:37.
Water is just for anything dried into the TV like food and thick liquids. We only need a very small mist of water on the cloth, not the TV. Has to be an amount of water small enough to air dry in seconds. For everyday dust and fingerprints a dry microfiber cloth is all we need. A microfiber cloth is mostly known for drying off cars. It's in most car wash sections of stores. So it's not a kitchen or bathroom cloth.
You can try this method but add a small amount of water on the microfiber cloth not the TV (as I did in this video). But if it seems to be more sticky, try soaking a washcloth or rag in a mixture of vinegar and water (a bit more vinegar than water), then use the cloth to apply the mixture to your sticky area. Let the mixture sit on the area for a few minutes so it has time to dissolve the glue. It should rub off easily, taking the sticky residue with it.

@@dpirate okkk
Thank you! And to the point. Glad you didnt use 8 min to explain like the rest.
Thank you for the feedback! I hate watching long videos just for a minute of information myself so I'll never put you through that on this channel.
Quick and to the point! Thank you 😊
My pleasure, thank you for sharing your feedback!
Excellent video. The only thing I would suggest people to do is remove the tag on the cloth. It can scratch the panel while wiping.
Thank you for the feedback and suggestion!
Thanks so much!!! I knew we didn’t have to buy the expensive stuff. Water 💦😜 who knew 🤷♀️
"The more you know 🌠" 😅
Thank you for getting to the point and not spending 12 minutes telling us how to wipe down a TV.
It's my pleasure! I don't like when people waste my time so I don't waste yours in my videos.
I sprayed winded directly on the screen a few years ago and it left a wide black streak that I can’t get out. Any advice? I never did that again.
Sorry but that sounds more like physical damage that normal cleaning wouldn't fix. Please just make sure to follow these steps in the future.
Thanks! I didn’t know it was that simple. Oh yeah - it worked just fine.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback! I really appreciate it.
Can I use a normal cloth or towel or whatevr? Idk what a micro fiber bla bla cloth is
Microfiber cloths are the same used to dry off wet cars. If you're not sure, in your local Walmart or anything similar, look in the car wash section to find them. If we use anything besides a microfiber cloth there's a chance we'll scratch the TV or just create water marks.
A dab of water on a microfiber cloth worked like a charm.
Thank you for the feedback!
This video was so relaxing! 😊
Thank you for your feedback Lee! I try my best to make my videos a enjoyable experience for you so I really appreciate it.
Thanks for saving time!
Always! I do my best not to waste your time on this channel.
Thanks for not wasting my time!
My pleasure! I do my best to get right to the point in all my videos.
@@dpirate alright! Thanks very much for your quick reply! I'll let you know how it goes! Lol
Is it okay to use water and a cotton cloth?
Water isn't needed in most cases. But when it is needed we only need a very tiny amount (one small mist onto the microfiber cloth). A microfiber cloth is required because a cotton one would leave a lot of streaks on the TV.
Thank you! Short and direct....👍🏽
Thank you! I always try to get straight to the point in my videos so I appreciate the feedback.
My tv got white sticky spots, which is annoying. I can't clean it even with dry or wet mircrofibre cloth. Plz drop some suggestions
I used an LCD cleaner which made my tv look worst I used this method and it worked amazing thank you!
Prefect, thank you for sharing your feedback!
Thank you for this video because i didn't know how to clean my flat screen tv ❤
Happy I could help!
So it's not a kitchen or bathroom cloth.
just fantastic, it work very well, thank you
Thank you for sharing your feedback!
Finally found a method, my tv used to take a shower 2 times a week
Happy I could help and thank you for sticking around the channel after watching this video!
Dammm I used polish on my tv screen looks clean but its left streak marks what do I do ? Thanks
Perfect video...thank you sir ...❤️
