How To Clean a Flat Screen TV | LED, LCD Or Plasma

- This video is all about how to clean your flat screen TV. Whether you own a LED, LCD or Plasma you can implement the steps detailed in this how to clean video.
The methods discussed in this video will remove dust, fingerprints and even dried saliva from your flat screen TV.
If your TV just needs a good dusting, grab a dry microfiber cloth and just wipe it down. Work from top to bottom until all dust is removed.
If you have fingerprints on the screen, dampen your cloth with distilled water and wipe away fingerprints by rubbing in circular motions.
If you couldn't get the TV clean with the first two methods you may have to spend some money and buy an actual electronics cleaner.
Whatever electronics cleaner you buy make sure it is ammonia and alcohol free. Once you have the cleaner in your hand, spray a dry microfiber cloth and wipe the gunk off the TV using circular motions.

Well I used tap water and it turned my screen into a big fingerprint. This guy knows what he’s talking about. Wait to use distilled water or a special cleaner
Thank for the best video I've seen on UA-cam lately! Years ago I was given a plasma TV from my parents.. needless to say I learned the hard way on what to clean it with! I reached for the bottle of windex and now my screen is messed up! That's why I only use water and microfiber cloth on my flatscreen!

I bought a new VIZIO smart TV a couple months back and it hasn't collected as much as a speck of dust yet! Other TVs were dust magnets.
Tissues??? Really! Anyway. Use the blue eyeglass cleaner that is safe for everything.

I generally find cleaning the screen with diesel removes the film left from smoking Newport's close to the TV.
Entertaining and informative. Once per month I use compressed air to blow away any dust on the perimeter of the screen especially the corners. Thanks for this, I always wondered if I could liquid cleaner on the screen.

It worked! Level 2... I appreciate the simplicity of the idea, as I used already fiber cloth rags, but never knew what to use on it if anything. It looks like a mirror now.

I usually rub a balloon on the tv then let the static electricity cling to the rubber. Sometimes I may use a magnetic aquarium cleaner so that way I apply equal pressure on both sides of the tv to avoid damaging it. My son Is going to be soo happy that I cleaned his room.

The old CRT tube tv's attracted dust like a magnet 📺what your doing works great 👍
That was caused by static electricity created by the CRT.

I just cleaned my led tv with damp hot water clothe and it did the work its as clean as new just clean with a damp microvezel clothe

It works! I’ve tried off & on for several years to get my grandchildren’s fingerprints & other residue off my flatscreen. The prints just never budged, so I didn’t work at it for very long. Yes, with glass cleaner. 🤭

I use tap water in spry bottle on mine. I spry a little bit on the screen and wipe away on one side of my micro fiber cloth then dry with outhe side of the micro fiber cloth.

After cleaning I find it streaks. What can I do to resolve that?
If you find streaks its because of one of two things. Number one its still dirty and it's basically smeared, or number 2 you used too much electronics cleaner and it left a residue. Whichever the case try to reclean it and see what happens.

Windex makes an ammonia free glass cleaner and has for decades. I just spray a little on a lint free microfiber towel and wiped down the entire TV and I’ve done it once a week for over 6 yrs ,it literally looks brand new.

I have heard that as well. I don't recommend it though.
Vinegar is too acidic to use on LCD/LED TV screens, it would be okay to use on old Tube TV's just like Windex or any other brand of window cleaner was.That is the one and only thing I miss about Tube TV's they had actual glass screens and it was simple and fast to clean them. I've not found anything yet that actually works on cleaning mine including plain water, but when I 1st bought it was talked into buying a specific cleaner for LCD screens - Used it once about a week after I bought the TV (this was about 9 years ago now) it put horrible streaks all over the TV (I wiped in straight lines from top to bottom) that have never came off, and it doesn't help that I have a cat with Feline Asthma who also always has a runny nose and he loves to sit in front of the TV, and when he has an Asthma attack and he's shaking his head his snot goes all over the dang TV making it impossible to keep clean . Yeah I know I could just make him stay off the TV stand, but he sits there for the heat that is emitted from the t.v. He always did it with my internet modem too along with my sons Game system, he'll even steal a heating pad that's turned on.
