Today's video is a more casual, unplanned style! I didn't prepare notes on the products and had no idea what I was going to use. When I was editing, I left in umms and pauses so it's less choppy and more realistic. Kait, I do not understand why people are so cruel online. You owe us nothing but you share your personality, love, and energy anyway. I have been going through a lot on top of my own chronic pain stuff, and when I feel overwhelmed with daily activities, watching one of your videos makes me feel like things are going to be ok. I stopped wearing makeup during the pandemic, but have picked it back up again. Now it's a soothing self-care activity I can do while listening to you chat about makeup, life, thumper, etc. Sending you a hug and a thank you!

Hey Kait, I just wanted to say that I am really sorry that there are so many assholes out there saying nasty things. I really wish people would stop it, we do not need hate in this world. I really love your videos, all the content. When you share your personal experiences, I may not relate to it but I learn about people and their lives and I think it’s valuable. I’m glad you are getting support and I am 100% on board with therapy and counselling as a life tool for all of us. I wish it was more accessible to everyone, I think we all benefit. I don’t believe in the least that you’re an eyeshadow beginner, I think that your eyes and face look awesome with simple eyeshadow looks, you look amazing. Your go to look or more flattering one IMO is the no make up look with an oomph!

I’ve been thinking about how to respond to your style question you left on my comment on your last video. Sometimes I don’t always know how to put what I like about something into words. I like how blunt you are. I’m guessing some people will complain about it, but for me it feels like I’m sitting down with someone I know and they’re giving me their opinions on makeup. I don’t really have people who like makeup in my life. I also appreciate how detailed you are in your descriptions and how many words you use trying to get at describing things. I’m not someone who’s bothered by backdrop. I’m glad you’re still giving us content. As far as formal versus this more informal style, I like both. The main tone of your videos doesn’t seem to change, which is what I’m most drawn to I think. I don’t know if this comment was helpful. I tend to use lots of words. I hope you had lots of fun watching Phoebe Bridgers!

Lots of fab products - thank you! I’ve found with the WA foundation, and I have drier skin too, I apply right after my skincare and while my face is really hydrated. Then I apply to the pads of my fingers and I warm it up and then smooth over my skin. Perfection! My mom also tried WA just last week and she’s in her mid 70’s and she’s really happy with it, too. Just an alternative if anyone is struggling to make it work 😘

Also, I finally made my first FitGlow purchase (I used your code and link!) and I’m SO impressed. I had to get the powder after I saw you use it, and it’s just as blurring and lightweight as you said. I also got the lip serum in beach glow and I can totally understand now what you have been raving about. It’s so nourishing and it lasts on the lips for hours and hours.

Sometimes the haters voices can be so much louder than the love…even when there is FAR more love out there for you than hate. Absolutely, my therapist regularly talks about our brains having a negativity bias but I’m always aware there’s more love than hate!

The REM concealer is shockingly good! I swear it’s like if the Fitglow and Glossier Stretch had a baby. Just skip trying to use the sponge under the eye. It doesn’t fit in the corner where dark circles like to hide.

@@StateofKait you’re welcome! Like you I have dark in the corner of my under eye and like my concealer to stick where I lay it down. I used my finger to tap it out and a dry small pointed sponge to blend any edges. Then I set with a tiny amount of powder after a few minutes. So far it’s holding up in this heat and humidity.

I just bought it and will review this week! That assessment is accurate. Glossier stretch concealer but more coverage and less dewy
The Kaja blush is really nice, would prefer to not have the stamper but the blush is a great product and it smells amazing, very subtle tho

I think you could use your sensitive skin to your advantage and make a video about your favorite skincare and complexion products for sensitive skin, or even the ones that didn't work for you and the alternatives you've found. So many have fragrance and other triggering ingredients.
All of my annual skincare round ups are fragrance free except for a very rare product or two!

Your description of phytosurgeance blushes reminded me of the L'oreal tinted face balm, the antiaging one. It is oh so lovely, and if I had to describe its texture, I'd use your words (lol 😂). Like it's a balm, but when u rub to get it out it feels moussey, when you apply on skin it has a thin, serum/gel like feel.. Have you used that one, would you say these are similar?

On a lighter note, as an older soul out here, I’ve been a Clinique Black Honey user since the very early 90’s. I’ve been trying to “dupe” it before I knew what that meant! Only in the last year or so have I found a few alternatives I like, and most recently (and my favourite) is the covergirl clean fresh tinted lip balm in bliss you berry. Worth a try :)

No, Cherub is a very warm pink and Bubble is a very cool pink
I love the Kaja bento eyeshadows especially chocolate dahlia but I cannot deal with the fallout from the glitter topper. I always see glitter on my upper cheeks throughout the day, defeating the purpose of my ‘no makeup makeup’ vibe. I bought the Wander beauty eye duo on your recommendation and it hardly has any fallout so I prefer that even though the Wander Beauty glitter topper does look a little more impactful (which isn’t my preference for a day look). Wish Kaja had beauty bentos with more smooth metallic shade /less fallout because I adore the travel friendly packaging and the matte shades are lovely. I should check out their matte trios I suppose.

I agree. I did find that the chocolate dahlia topper was way more smooth and had less fallout than orange blossom. The orange blossom topper was difficult to work with for me
I got the Tarte lip balm but now I regret not getting the mini size because of how well the shape of it fits your lips. I find the full size to be quite awkward to apply. How do you find the stickiness level of the Clinique lipsticks as compared to the Laweless Forget the Filler glosses?

Hey Kait! If you like thicker lip glosses + lip products that smell like vanilla, I think you'll like the lip glosses from Trixie Cosmetics! Trixie is a drag queen, you mentioned in a video a while ago that you hadn't heard of her brand before so that might be why :) I have her clear lip gloss and it lives in my purse. They have the cutest packaging and they're pretty affordable, highly recommend!

I liked this slightly different style of video but your others are great too! Have you ever applied the Fitglow powder with a large brush or only the size you used in the video? I bought it from seeing your reel, but I find it’s almost too matte when I apply it with my big powder brush all over. I’m wondering if you’ve tried it on a big brush and found it applied better with something smaller? It looked so nice on you in this video, so I feel I must be doing something wrong lol
It is quite matte! I haven’t tried using a big brush because I tend to prefer a tiny amount of powder strategically placed. Maybe try using just the tiniest amount of powder you can possibly pickup? It is definitely a matte formula

Glad there’s others talking up the tarte vegan lips sip balm! I actually made a tiktok trying to tell people about it because I think it’s a dupe for the tarte Maracuja juicy lip which is significantly pricier. I think the formula feels pretty much exactly the same! Haven’t found anyone who agrees with me yet though. 🤣

Out of curiosity, I had to pause and read the reddit comments. First of all, they all sound so lame and JEALOUS. Such cattiness is ugly. Please ignore those people. Don't engage with the "mean girls". Nothing gives them more satisfaction than a reaction. That's what those negative types feed on. And unfortunately being in the public eye exposes you to them, especially if you are beautiful and kind.
Oh yeah, super jealous. But there was also some legit feedback that I’m using to try to improve my videos too. Like being low energy, “a downer,” blindly privileged, etc. That stuff I wanna change

As for blindly privileged, I remember you had mentioned your job salary and thought to myself uh oh I bet some people will think she’s bragging. But I didn’t see it that way. I think yes, some filtering is good to have. And being too open may not be good on this platform, considering the types of people out there. But overall my perception is that you are an authentic person who is attempting to grow.

What happened that I couldn’t predict is people questioned the validity of my job and suggested I got it through wealthy family members, discrediting an 8 year sales and corporate career. That one really bummed me out, but it is what it is. People project what they want to think about you, and that has nothing to do with my or my real story

I see you reviewing affordable options and that's great! I've been obsessing about spending that much $ on the WA powder (mostly having to admit it to someone in my orbit who is struggling and/or possibly regretting it due to a certainly possible change in circumstances we all fear these days). Today you eased my mind and gave me an alternative I feel good about, so thanks. FYI - would love to see ALL (or most of) the Phytosurgence and Em blushes applied & wear-tested in a video! My skin eats blush too, so the wear test aspect is really useful.
I love that you mentioned your salary! It helps others get an idea of what their work is worth (never their own worth, just the work!) if they're open to seeing it that way. Privacy, discretion, safety and the general good are a delicate dance when it comes to personal finances. I certainly don't have a flow chart for when to be open and when not, but I do know that NOT knowing the value of our work has a high cost for so many, and we all know who it benefits.
