That is so scary.. it's terrible how common this has become in the last two years.. I work in a long term care facility as a nurse, and have been there for 8 years. I have never seen as much death as I have in the last two years.. it's insane. People are sicker now when they come to us and they don't end up staying long. We've had many that only lasted a week or two. I hope and pray that Robert will make a full recovery and have no further strokes.

My dear brother Robert, you helped me to have a little bit of fun during my 2 year battle with cancer. Watching you do the things I couldn't anymore really gave me a lift. At my age of 65 I had no concept of UA-cam till my kids told me of it. Finding a brother in Christ on here was a blessing. My pray for you is complete and total healing in the name of Jesus. I'm just one of millions of people who love Rob and the entire DMFD family. I became a fan back when the family was just Rob and you, Sarah. It's been a heart warming experience since my first DMFD video - Rob making swamp cabbage stew - watching your family and business grow. I know the ranch becoming something from your past is a hard blow to Rob, but along with this and the other changes coming about, I have absolute faith that the Lord is guiding your every step. The Lord's greatest Blessings to you all, family, staff, and fans.
I'm also 46 and a stroke survivor all I can say is be strong and will yourself to get better. I also had a bleed in my brain, spent a week in icu then almost 2 months paralyzed on one side of my body, had to do months of therapy. That was 5 years ago, now I'm back to normal like nothing ever happened. Praying for your fast recovery 🙏🏼

I’m a firefighter / emt. I unfortunately see a lot of this happen at work. The signs of stroke are Facial Droop, arm drift, slurred speech and time (F.A.S.T.) The fact that he got to the hospital so fast was the most crucial aspect of this. That was HUGE! So really great job realizing somethings wrong and getting there so fast. I hope he recovers quickly. Love this channel. I know the passion you all have for this channel and what you do. Let’s get him through it 💪🏻

Have you ever heard of energy drinks causing blood clots? The jolt of caffeine or b vitamins could lead svts.. That's what lead to the clot coming dislodged... I'm trying to understand this.. I drink a descent amount of caffeine and am sitting here trying to understand what the author meant by a red bull caused this

Have you noticed an uptick in strokes the last few years? Personally, I have noticed an uptick in strokes, and aggressive cancers.

@@deermeatfordinner his medical situation has helped me learn more about RCVS and become more aware. My uncle had a bad head injury from a car crash. He was on deaths doorstep with an intercranial bolt monitor in ICU. He recovered about 99%. The only difference my dad said was he was more affectionate and sweeter to people. The brain is an incredibly resilient organ. Rob is still young and healthy. I feel he’ll be able to recover sooner than you think. Big hugs and prayers again.

100% correct on that. My 53 year old cousin had a massive stroke last year and he was not found for a few hours afterwards. It’s been since last May and he still is not home yet.

These medical surprises usually have no warning, and we are totally happy that you had a friend that could assist you, and get you to a medical facility so quickly. I had a stroke at 50, good shape, no smoking, not overweight. I was on my way to the boat to do an oil change. Even when my arm stopped working, thought it would be difficult day for an oil change! Finally came to my senses and drove myself to the hospital, and have had a full recovery. NEVER give up! There are difficult days ahead for you, Robert; but you have overcome challenges before; and We are confident that YOU and Sarah will overcome these challenges with our prayers, and the support of your family and friends. Hugs to you, Sarah and your little ladies!

Having had a brain bleed stroke myself, my heart goes out to you Robert. It is scary and so confusing, personally I could not talk or find words. Then I started to live in an alternate reality and people found it pretty scary when I would ask if they were real. But thankfully, I came back, as I hope and know you will. Good luck our friend.

God bless y’all! Rob, I had a stroke back in 2018 the night of July the 4th and was totally paralyzed on my left side. My wife was able to get the EMS service here and get me to the hospital in time. After an MRI the doctors said that they could administer a TPA and try to dissolve the clot but there was risks involved. She told them to do it because she knew I would not want to live and be paralyzed the rest of my life. That was on Wednesday 0:03 night and after the treatment I finally was able to move my fingers and toes after several hours. Then it was like GOD said good job everyone now let me show you how to do this and it was like HE hit me with something and just fixed me. That was on Wednesday night and I walked out of the hospital Saturday with no help and unloaded a half of a pallet of sod the next day. I know you and our LORD are tight and that’s one reason why I keep up with you and your beautiful family. GOD bless all of you!!!!!!!

I know I'm 2 months late but I'm glad to see you are recovering well. Your channel got me into fishing and archery. The fact that you're a family man and able to make the outdoor lifestyle a family affair gave me hope that I could get my family involved as well, and it worked!!! My wife has become one hell of an archer and looking forward to her first deer hunt this season, and my daughter loves fishing more than I could ever have imagined. Rob and DMFD mean a ton to me. When I lost my mother in 2020 I could not sleep. I didn't like being alone in the dark either. So, what I would do was put UA-cam on and sort of mindlessly watch until eventually I would fall asleep. Most nights, I watched DMFD. I really hope Rob recovers soon. I wish y'all the best.

We have high blood pressure in my family and several members of my family have had strokes. Robert is young and fit and has every chance of making a recovery since he got to medical care so fast. All my hopes are with him to recover quickly. You guys almost seem like friends from all the videos I've watched of you guys catching gators, cooking frog legs or turtles, and deer (one of the few things from your videos I can cook up here in Wisconsin). I tried lobster for the first time because you made it sound so good in your videos. I'm sure I'm not the only person who thinks that. Robert has shared a ton of recipes with us and I have only one I can share that I learned from when I nearly died from a medication reaction years ago:
Live each day like you started life on borrowed time.
Never forget to tell the ones you love that you love them.
When the "going" seems too tough and you don't think you can go anymore; Don't look too far down the road. Look at your feet and take one step. . . take "baby steps" if you have to (as any step forward is a victory).

wow, this is so heartbreaking. luckily he was 10 minutes away from a hospital with an amazing staff.
