I know you guys want to finish this car ASAP, but PLEASE, listen to the comments telling you to fix what you did wrong with the fuel pressure regulator, you NEED to connect a vacuum line to the regulator so it can raise the fuel pressure with the boost from the supercharger, you will run the engine lean and blow up it up if you keep doing burnouts and driving it hard like that.
Doesn't that have a module that controls fuel pressure already? I may be incorrect, but im 99% sure it is already regulated. That's a legit point though.
@@slv2thaGrind No because they installed a custom fuel pressure regulator, the ZL1 they took the engine from does it automatically with the stock fuel system, but since everything is custom in this Camaro they need to add a vacuum line to the regulator because the engine doesn't have any way of telling the regulator to raise the fuel pressure with the boost.
@@joealex65 it's there car they do what they want.they don't have to listen to anyone.
Engines run really good right before they exPlode.
@@jerrywilcox9890 he is trying to help them out and save them time and money in the future instead of them putting a ton of work into a car and blowing the thing up on accident lmao
Love the videos guys, i have a couple pointers for car audio for you. You definitely don't want to turn the gain all the way up, as it's not a volume knob. it will send a clipped (square wave) signal to the subwoofers. Which isn't good for them and will eventually cause the voice coils to fry. Also, that subwoofer box will likely be louder if you turn it around facing the rear of the car. I've been into car audio for about 15 years now. So if you need any info feel free to message me.
also to increase the bass and to eliminate any vibrations think about using sound deadening on your doors and boot/trunk you will notice the difference 1ce everything is complete in the interior and 100% agree with devon
I back both of these comments. Y’all did a great job for your first time but definitely make a few small changes mentioned above for a much better output!
They bought Audiopipe, Boss, and Planet Audio. Do you really think they care? LOL
What a ghetto hack job! I would have expected better from these guys. 😠
@@techmaster242 Ya that is too nice of a car. I would have finished the interior and dropped it off somewhere to have audio installers install something that would match and look clean....its not like they don't have the money to have it done right.
Would love to see the air re-routed to the lower vents and the head unit moved up possibly deleting the upper vents altogether. Maybe remove that whole section and replace with molded fiberglass so the head unit appears to sit flush. Love the build and hope you guys finish strong on this project and then hand the keys to your pops. He has been such a huge part of your channel and growth and it would be nice to see him and your mom just cruising. Keep it up guys!!!
definitely turn that sub box around so it's facing backwards. there's something called the coupling effect and once the sound wave bounces off the back of the car and then comes forward it will be so much louder. trust me, I've done this over and over again. it was one of my mistakes when I first started doing car stereos years ago. it will make a huge difference for you. it will be what you want it to be.
Not a stereo guy but thought I'd normally seen them facing back. Thanks for the info.
Man, yall managed to get my dad interested in cars and its the first project he’s ever done and one where i can do it with him! Working on a 69 charger. Thank you guys for getting this father son project going! 😁😁😁
That’s amazing!
cool
My Dad helped my brother and I rebuild a 1954 Ford Flathead. Jet Black & lots of bling. We would cruse the burger joint and football game on Friday night.
A 69 Charger is a bad ass platform.
Rad.
Love you guys and how you tackle new stuff! Stereo advice. The gain is not a volume knob. You should research amp tuning to match the head unit voltage going to the amp. If you turn up the gain too much you will blow your speakers over time. Too much gain causes a clipped signal which will cause extra heat and distortion. That will blow your subs fast. Setting the gain to the right position based on the head unit voltage will let you turn up the bass without fear of ruining the signal and sound with distortion. Have fun and rock on! Oh and turn the sub box to face the back for better sound.
I winced as well. Good advice. 👍
Great advice, but it’s head wattage not voltage.
@@ian0401 its head voltage and amp wattage... just sayin. It's complicated electronics simplified for us normies.
Good advice and please turn the subs around fellas
@@deepredstate4414 yep I get that mate. I shouldn’t have put the word “head” in the comment as it’s not the variable in the equation.
I base this only on my knowledge of this as a guitarist 😂😂 not of car stereo.
If they crank the gain too much it will blow the drivers (speakers) if they can’t handle that amount of wattage.
It’s also important to make sure the impedance of the drivers match the amp, I’m sure they do as they got all the gear from a stereo guy!
Hay guys just a few tips on the stereo system. Subwoofer box has to be aimed backwards, meaning subs have to point towards the trunk lid that's why the back of the sub enclosure has an angle, also. Sp makers you installed are called coaxial speakers, woofer, mid and high, the best way to configure it is using the internal crossover in the stereo so you can separate mid low and high frequencies on the speakers and sub handling low frequencies. I f you need more feedback on stereo installation I have plenty of experience. The Camaro is getting awesome guys, congrats !!!
Just an idea if the bottom vents are not functional I think u can buy digital “gauges” to go in their place to display things like boost and air fuel ratios
Awesome to see you guys supporting local businesses like this!
Too bad that local shop didnt look out for them. Everything I seen a price on was WAY overpriced. I know as I am a retailer that sells all that same equipment.
I love this build! I have my 63 Belair and I'm adding sound, My neighbor brought home a 1968 firebird last week and I cant stay away from it. The firebird was in a garage and Sat for 33 years.
Windscreens before the 90's didn't glue in like that - you need to get an original rubber window seal, unless someone makes a rubber trim to look like one.
Also, the sub should be facing the other way I think - the angled side is supposed to match the angle that the back seats lean back at
"Sub-wooo-fers & tweakers." 🤣
I love you guys, what I appreciate about you guys most is just diving in and making things work. Regardless whether you have any experience or knowledge, you just get it done...

Idk just me but for $1100 you guys paid…I could of probably did the big 4 built a custom box and did a all skar set up for $1100 😳😳. Keep up the work y’all. Love the videos🤘
Painful to watch you turn the gain all the way up too. Never ever ever turn the gain all the way up. It’s not a volume knob 😭🤦♂️
Their car will catch fire 🤦♂️ whatever
back revisiting the Camaro build. Love the interior with the mix of new and old. Wheels need color match.
I'm a 20 plus year MECP certified mobile electronics installer.
That planet audio deck is decent but leaves alot to be desired.
The car play and android auto requires a wired connection unlike other units that support it wireless.
I posted in a previous video of a good option you'd really love.
They make decks that support the Maestro system. You can link this system to your cars ECU and have digital gauges with oil pressure, fuel level, speed, RPM and CEL information. As well as climate controls and open doors info. Aswell as the ability to map and use steering wheel controls in a bunch if cool ways. The climate, door info and SWC mapping wouldn't work on this car obviously but the ECU stuff would.
Another option becoming really popular is using a good basic single din deck with Bluetooth.
Then buy a iPad of your choice and buy whats called a slider kit. It's a pocket the iPad docks into that can be molded into a dash bezel with CA glue and some filler and sanding work. When done right the iPad docks and looks like a factory Tesla screen that can be removed when needed.
You can find a secondary location for the single din radio to run the audio through. Or some people in set it enough that it sits behind the slider and they cut the opening in the back of the slider.
So it's in the dash behind the docked iPad.
Google iPad dash kits you'll see what I mean!
I love how you guys half ass everything y’all do . From building a house to building a car . It’s awesome .
That car has come so far from the day you got it. Looks amazing, going to look better once it’s been buffed out and waxed. Love the killer sound system. Excellent job guys! 👏👍

The Camaro has been one of your biggest challenges. You guys are doing great. Sounds awesome inside and out. It's been a super long build but it's really coming along and it's going to be an awesome cruiser. 👍
Keep it up boys!! I’ve been here since the WRX build and absolutely love y’all!! Y’all should bring back the Fan Mail!!
Fellas the 6x9 speakers on the rear deck need to be installed with the tweeter facing in towards the center FYI
What a great camaro this is going to be. Can't wait to see it finished. Good luck with it.
From a car audio guy with videos up myself, I would recommend not mounting the amps to the enclosure if you can. The prefab style enclosures aren’t the most vibration friendly on amps and speakers and can vibrate the internals to failure. I would mount them to a board and secure the board to the chassis. Also, don’t forget to secure the box and adjust the amps safely and keep away from distortion!!!! Bass on buddies!!!!
cant wait for the sub box to slide and the amp to hit the battery :(
When he turned up the gain haha we all gotta learn somehow tho
He doesn't have enough power for the vibration to be a problem. This is a pretty below average set up.
@@MLG120790 that’s where you’re wrong. It is good practice to not mount amps to sub enclosures unless they are properly reinforced to withstand vibrations. Which those style enclosure don’t have. The amps they used are high on the scale for board vibration damage. That’s why I recommend what I did. As well as, a good practice.
@@mikehonda7934 I have a 15,000w system in my Impala. I've been installing and rebuilding amps for 15+ years. Sure it's a good practice. But what I was saying is this system isn't powerful enough for it to make a difference. Amps vibrate just driving down the road. They are built with that in mind.. if I decided to mount my taramps smart 5k amps directly to my box then I would have problems. This guys system isn't going to run into a vibration problem. This is a baby system.
You guys always make my days worth smiling. Thank you guys and keep up the videos. Much love to you and the fam..🙏
FYI, Original 1967 Camaros have chrome trim (mouldings) around windshield to hide adhesive. Early 90s automakers quit trimming windshields in favor of painting windshield edges. You are doing great job on the car.
They also butyl tape not 3M window adhesive with the chrome trim
No they are not. The adhesive they used was never meant to be used in that application. The window was never meant to be adhered into place. It leaves to many open gaps so, even if they did put the chrome trim around the windshield, there are so many voids that moisture will get trapped and cause premature rusting. Don't encourage bad workmanship, even if its cause of ignorance. They are great body repair guys, but they are not classic car restorers or mechanics and it shows badly.
That "boat" shifter they kept talking about, was an actual factory option, and if it is original, it's worth a mint and they just casually tossed it to the side.
They aren't doing a great job with this car by any means. Yes, it was partially resto-modded but, their lack of experience, expertise, and knowledge is failing them badly. All they have to do is ask any other youtuber, with any sort of classic car experience for guidance and they would get it. Finnegan is only a few hours away near Atlanta and he could walk them through so much without them ham fisting around like a couple of Neanderthals.
@@actschp1 At least they are better than the previous owner, who was a crook.
@@herrakaarme ah yeah, making excuse for their shoddy work by bringing up the previous owner.
@@actschp1 Eh, I never said their work isn't shoddy every now and then. They are self-taught, if I've understood it correctly, so it's no wonder. That being said, fixing cars or houses isn't their job. Their job is to make UA-cam content, and they are pretty good at that. Otherwise we wouldn't be here.
The Front and back windows have crome trim that covers up the window glue and will make it look great it has clips that hold it in
The original windshield for the camero has like seal and chrome piece that run all around the windshield
LOVE SEE NEW CAMARO DASH IN IT✌🏾
Guys, about the glass, your camaro came factory with a piece of chrome trim around the sides and top of the front and back glass that covers the glass edge. There were clips that installed on the vertical side of the glass opening for the trim to clip on. Being a restomod car when you bought it it may have had the little factory metal studs that the window trim clips slide on to ground off or something so the studs are not there.
In my humble opinion, the Camaro is by far one of the best cars you guys have ever worked on. It is a beauty.
the car looks ok from a distance but now they are just chopping things up rushing it and not to mention burn out after burn out......... then they will be wanting to sell it lol.
I agree
@@SoggyBiscuits1000 The amount of money they have poured into this car has gone way past the level of stupidity. Who would honestly buy that car ? The amount of cash they would need just to break even. You could probably build it twice over. At a professional level.
Front sub frame major flex,,,, Don't worry about stuff like that. New sound system, much more important.
@@Mike-qp8bv that sub frame ain’t no biggie they sell new sub frames or sub frame stiffeners with extra mounting points to make way better then what it is now cuz it was some major flex in it that they definitely need to address before they get to twisting that thing up
I think there is already some twist in it , in the thumbnail one side in back is higher...of course it could be misadjusted springs (or coilovers if converted)
I have never seen a windshield installed with anything other than a gasket in a ‘67 Camaro. Will be interesting to see how it holds up. See if it leaks.
Yeah that was hideously all wrong
Yeah I was wondering if anyone else was old enough to realize that 😂
Why would it leak? Modern cars don’t leak. Same shit except instead of a gasket it’s glue.
Definitely a gasket but I have glued a few at customer request with no issues. Forgot to put primer on the glass, even if the urethane says it’s primer less to glass, always prime it Or it will not stick for long.
I didnt notice any clips put in for the chrome trim to clip into. The chrome trim hides the gasket material and makes it look clean. I too have never seen a windshield installed this way.
Nice touch to the classic ride…awesome video guys
The car is coming along great!👍🏻. Can’t wait for the finished product and the drag race.
This Camaro is going to be one of my Favorite Builds that you all have done!
What do you like about it? I love their builds, but I dont know much about cars.
You never want to turn the gain on the amp all the way up. You can adjust with the head unit to make it sound better. Also face the subs towards the back. Better acoustics.
Bro I know 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
The whole thing was cringe honestly. Lol sounded terrible. Maybe that was those “tweakers” in the back though.
Everything is coming out beautifully on the Camaro.keep up the good work guys.

I believe this will be your favorite build as of yet. It is mine also. I can't lie, I have had doubts, but you dudes made me eat my foot. Good lord you have done phenomenal with this ground up build. Hot DANG SAUCE I am so proud of being a subscriber!
Love everything you guys do 💯
Those tweakers sound sweet!
The real fun on installing a car sound system is on balancing and calibrating all the inputs and outputs
There should be a black gasket that houses the windshield. It'll give the clean appearance you want and it will seal better
The glass adhesive they used leaves a huge gap around the window. It's guaranteed that moisture is gonna get stuck back there and cause it to rust out way faster.
this^^^
The cringe has reached new hights. 😆
They just didn’t primer the car and the windshield properly shit is gonna leak also it’s missing the chrome mouldings
Spends a ton of time and money building a sweet classic camaro and cheaps out on the audio equipment.
" There's a screw back there and I just turned that sucker as far as it would go " 🤣🤣🤣
I’m a sucker for old muscle. Great job guys and we are all looking forward to the completed project.
Love this build, hopefully you guys do some more classics/resto-mods! You'll get better sound out of the subs if you dinomat the truncklid, and turn them around to face the back. Keep up the great work guys! 👍
Im in the same town of chattanooga and have a '37 ford that needs finishing,LOL
Wrong, you have no idea how to get more decibels IE sound from those subs. In order to do that you need a decibel meter and you need to play with placement of them subs. But don’t even worry about that, you know they just turned the gain all the way up. Everyone thinks again is volume knob when it isn’t…
Good sound system try the subwoofer speaker box facing the back facing subs behind the car will definitely get more bass, Got to adjust with the stereo settings as well and the subwoofer amplifier settings as well to make it sound good or have the shop were you bought it from to adjust for you, Camero looking damm good guys keep up the good work 👍🏻
yeah i don't think maxing the gain and cross over is healthy. get someone who knows to calibrate it.
You guys should watch some Steve Meade videos on how to properly set your gains on your amps to get the most out of your speakers without hurting them. Also, some sound dampening on the trunk and doors will keep the car from sounding like a pile of sheet metal in a hurricane.
looking good there guys very nice

Hey fellas....!! Awesome vid as usual. Just wanted to let you guys know that you're going to need a 14.4 voltage capacitor so you won' t be changing alternators every 6 months. I will DM you guys to show you what it looks like. The price varies but you can get one for under $100 all the way up to about $400. I'd go with one that has a gauge on it just to make sure it is pulling the right amount of power and you're not starving the system of power. It's a very important you look into that; you will need it. Keep up the great work I'll be watching out for you guys on youtube. Take care!
they definitely arnt pulling enough amps for it to matter bro that whole setup maybe pulls 60-80 amps and it most likely has a 120-140 amp alt.
@@Ace-dh5lz I was only thinking to play it safe because that are running 4 full range deck speakers with the two subs, and they are still doing door speakers. MONO subs put a huge strain on even a 140-amp alternator especially a 1000-watt and they still have the amp powering the deck speakers. I learned the hard way and I was only pushing a 1200-watt sub with and 600 powering my doors. Everytime the bass would hit; the lights would dim out. The lights dimming is voltage flux, the alternator does have a regulator to corrected this but its only rated to handle standared accessories. I dropped a cap in and it solved the whole problem. Was just tinking better safe than sorry. Sorry for the long story. LOL
you don't want the gain(s) and volume turned all the way up, your speakers will start clipping. start with the head unit turned up and then start adjusting the gain at the amp until it almost starts clipping. that's a good base (no pun intended) to start from. and def get some sound deadener in that trunk! but keep up the good work guys.
Dang son!! Sounds insane!
You guys will end up blowing up that engine before getting the car done if you keep doing burnouts and driving it hard without fixing the fuel pressure regulator, boosted engine need to have a vacuum line on the regulator to keep the fuel pressure 1 to 1 with the boost pressure, running the engine lean (too much air, not enough fuel) is a quick way to blow it up.
new engine, new content..
Hose not needed! The engine has a fuel pressure sensor and control solenoid along with a high pressure pump. The computer controls the fuel pressure,,,,the regulator just needs to be set to 84 psi.
That LT4 Camaro engine sound great to me already 😎👍
Use a multimeter to set the gains or a Steve Meade tuner , cause when u turn them amps up it bring in noise distortion.
You guys always have the best ideas 🤩🤟🏼,i wish is was there with you guys i wanna hear the sound system in person 🥹❤️💯 ,love you guys ❤️💯

Wiring on cars in the 60s was so simple. No electronics back then. When adding all the modern stuff, the wiring gets crazy. Make sure you upgrade the generator.
You guys should bring the 67 to a car show and get peoples reactions!
First the car need a Cut and buff

those are really just cheap walmart style sound eqpt. the camaro would be better without those dead weight hehe
The sub amp is wired wonky, should have been Wired in bridged mode and those 6x9 in pairs or just two of them so they would have dedicated channels for the front doors. One thing i also dont get why they picked up coax for the front doors when you could have picked a legit 2 way system. But its not my car hey and not bad for a first all custom install

Small businesses generally give you better service. I have always supported small businesses. The sound system sounds awesome. The Camero is looking amazing. I like how you are doing the car.
You adjust the bass at the amp with the gain, but also make sure to turn up the bass AT the source, meaning the actual radio/touch screen. Kinda no name brands, so I wouldn't expect too much, but it is nice for now. Man, yall making this Maro Preem!
Bass at the source introduces distortion. The best methods are using an active crossover and leaving the bass alone on the source unit. Too many people run sub amps on a full range signal without crossing over or sloping the unwanted signal ranges.
Then to compensate they crank the bass in the source unit and gain up on the amp.
The proper way of tuning is to go neutral settings on the source unit. Cross over any sound ranges your subs aren't tuned for and set the depth of the roll off of those signals.
Then with the amp down set the source unit at the highest volume you'll use. Set your desired operating frequency then raise the amp gain. Once you start seeing the signal clipping on your built in clipping light or on your meter back the gain down the slightest bit.
Now you can assure a clean undistorted signal with only the desired signal ranges demanded via a crossover.
Gain isn't power neither are added settings on the source unit.
