I loved it. I definitely don't think it's a film for everyone, but it honestly is very frustrating already seeing the audience reviews on RT saying it's horrible because it's chaotic and stress inducing. That's the style of the Safdie Brothers and they pulled off exactly what they wanted to with this film. It doesn't make it horrible, people just can't seem to understand that not every film is meant to be some sit back and relax, feel good bullshit. Those films have their place but Im happy the Safdies are putting out films that do the opposite.
100% I could not sit back in my chair and relax but i loved that, people don't recognize how difficult it is to keep a consistent flow of stress inducing scenes one after another, that right there is masterful art
Wow, I didn't know audiences wasn't having it. I get it though, if you're going to see a Sandler movie and this thing comes at you it would be very confucing. It's also just very confronting for a lot of people and for those it isn't very frustrating. Hopefully film fans find it, because it's a true marvel of cinema.
people are definitely loving it...The buzz of this movie is positive on social media as well...The problem is that a lot of people who saw this movie around Christmas expecting a typical adam sandler holiday ,family comedy type movie so i think they did not like this and rightfully so i mean the target audience of this is not a typical adam sandler fan base( a pretty big one too) ! It's earning a lot of cash that's good for the safdie brothers they deserve it and movie is fuckin amazing my fav aside from parasite, joker and the farewell so that's good for me 🤘🤘
@@dylanjordan4747 What kind of a divisive thing is that to say? You millenials have a real sickness where you NEED to label people that don't deserve it to feed your inner guilt.. Keith William Richard's gave one of the most bone chilling performances I've ever seen. That character belongs in the top greatest film villains of all time
Nearly a PERFECT film! By far one of the best films of the year right next to one or two others. Genuinely original, authentic, and fucking fierce! Intensity that's almost never equaled by any genre or style! Probably among the best films of the decade! Anyone completely hating it or being totally unsatisfied has not even attempted to grasp this films intention or put forth the focus towards it's immense power or direction. Or they expected something typical and formulaic. I know almost nothing of the real world details of the diamond district and jewelry retail. I'm also not personally a gambler, but I never felt lost in plot or too overwhelmed by specific dialogue. I felt effortlessly drawn in and captivated. No obvious exposition or cliche. Could keep pondering this gem for far too long
Why can't Tiff get some mics and chairs together so that the actors can sit and answer some questions in comfort. The passing of the mic is so inefficient and makes watching this frustrating. Like how hard is it to pull out a couple of wheeled couches and stools and have more than a couple more mics?
Haha nah man I did yesterday lol. My bro works at an art theater and they had a screening for critics awhile back and the theater lets them have employee screenings a night before. I did watch it on firestick last night tho lol
Ever since "Reign Over Me" Sandler has shown how great of a Dramatic Actor he Is. Can't wait to see this. Also Benny Safdie Is a great actor, didn't realize until now It was him In Good Times with Robert Pattinson.
Absolutely Love this movie and thank you brothers for casting my favorite guy Adam Sandler! I was surprised to find I out it was Julia's first movie was amazing and sexy af (excuse my french). Storyline to suspense was all amazing i really hope ya win Many Many awards best of luck!
This was one amazing and TENSION-laden film! I couldn't turn away even though it raised my heartbeat and blood pressure to unhealthy levels....Great film! Only shitty point? I can't stand Julia Fox. I can't stand her acting, I can't stand how she looks nor how she speaks! She's also comes off dumber than drying paint.
I know what you’re saying. He’s been in a lot of great stuff, but usually plays these same one note characters and has yet to show much, if any, range. However, in interviews he acts as though he’s the next Daniel Day Lewis.
The first 10+ minutes I wanted to turn the volume off on my tv. The music at the beginning went on forever and was really distracting, discordant and a little painful to keep listening to, and yeah the rest of the movie was painful too. Not a pleasurable experience. How was just a sad, pathetic, annoying (not charismatic at all), sick character, and pretty much everyone except Judd Hirsch and the girlfriend in the jewelery store were pretty much just awful people. Yuck. Call me crazy, I like my movies to be enjoyable. This was not that at all. And the ending was disturbing and horrible. Worse than the ending to The Sopranos. The only two movies I cant think of that I liked less were Boxing Helena (which may have been the worst, most depressing movie ever made), and Watchmen.
If you go watch any of their creations, it's the same thing. They make movies that creates anxiety and makes it painful like real life sometimes so it immerses a lot of people (me included). If you really feel that way, they've done their job right.
Saw the movie. Don't ask how. Total utter garbage!! Written, directed beyond poorly. Soundtrack was total trash and made it look even more amateur and low budget than it was. Chaotic, noisy movie. You'll get a migraine watching it.
It was a blessing in disguise that they waited 10 years for this to come out.
if they released this right after Daddy Long Legs it definitely would not have been as polished or as hyped up as it was.
@@chazaiya Yeah, I definitely get the sense that their preparation for the film peaked at the right time.

It was such a good movie. So glad it's on Netflix, had me at the edge of my seat the whole time, and the ending was an absolute shocker

Julia and Adam 🔥

Can’t really compare the two because one is a comedy and the other is a crime/thriller, but in a nutshell, yes it is
