I think that what differentiates one from the other is that you love to play. Baseball is in you. Most guys didn't want to practice or hated it, but I loved to practice.

You could be. My suggestion would be to keep working hard and never be satisfied if your goal is to keep playing at higher levels of baseball. Good luck!

I'm don't know for sure, but I'd say most of the players that played in college played high school baseball

Thank you, Matt. I really can relate to this video. Everyday during the winter, I take swings off the tee in my basement till my hands bleed. I go to the back of my school and bounce tennis balls off the wall, practice my routes to fly balls and taking grounders etc. I try to be as observant as possible when watching players I admire and MLB players. I crave information. I always ask my coaches how I can get better. I WANT it. I really want it badley. I wont let anything stop me. Thanks matt

My guess is it is coming down to your mechanics. Check out our online video analysis lessons on our website, which you can find in our video's description. Sign up, send me your videos, and I will let you know what you are doing wrong and what you need to do differently to start hitting for power!

That is excellent. This is something I am constantly trying to impart to my son. Coming from you with your background lends a lot more credence to this philosophy.

Thanks for this vid, I just recently found this out. I wish I would have been paying attention when people told me to work hard and practice a lot, but I always let it fly over my head. I've seen rapid improvement in my skills since I've realized how important it is to strive to get better. I just wish I would have started before high school as apposed to my junior yr. Every young kid that wants to play baseball needs to watch and understand this.

I never realized that there were that many underdog stories in the majors. I've been under the impression that it's survival of the fittest where everyone starts out in little league and people that Arnt good enough don't get to play as they get older. Me personally i know I'm the hardest worker on my HS team but get the least at bats and I'm going into my senior year too. Thank you for this

mango_666 look up Lorenzo Cain. Dude never played any sports or baseball for that matter until he was 16 yrs old. He came to his first practice in jeans and never even owned a glove. Now he is in the majors making 16 mil a year. The dude is a heck of an athlete. Super athletic

Lots of practice and knowing how to rest deeply enough to support the practice....

Wow great video it's really crazy how much and quickly you can
Learn from teaching yourself. It really means more when you figure out what you are doing wrong then people telling you. Like I threw for a couple hours yesterday and today into a net and video taped y self in the snow and saw that my throwing motion wasn't circular it was very choppy thanks Matt best online baseball coach

What about the psychological dimension? I always assumed that the best players had a capacity to perform under pressure that other players do not. I'm certain the psychologiclo make-up of great players differs from the psychological make-up of players that aren's so great.

Yeah, I've been playing jv baseball for three years in high school, but I still work really hard. There was some bad games I had. like i struck out 3 times straight and was really mad.But I forget about those flaws and move on...

Coaches tht I have a hitch in my throwing or it's like why you said in ur throwing video with Step
One step two step three. But I never knew what they mean until I FELT the differnce and know what it's suppose to feel like

Great video. Im a freshman in high school and i really want to be great. Ive been working really hard in the weight room but i only get to hit and feild about once a week because i live where there is snow for 4-5 months out of the year so i cant really play in the offseason. Could you please make a video for people who cant really play year round. That would be great thanks.

JV vs. Varsity-boils down to playing time and natural progression. I’d rather see a player, play, versus get moved up quickly and riding the pine getting rusty. Education is key-school first, but also study the game and work hard everyday. Earn it!
