      Ima see if i cant get something like this for myself in the future.
      Ive kinda just self taught and done around 150-200 balls a day off the batting tee for the past 2 weeks
      but my swings improved a lot and i got a compliment from the homeplate umpire on my last game ;)

    Sir hey I had commits before, talking about my nephew Jace Hilliard. We are from ElyNv. Your hitting technique is very what I been taught in the 70's. Now being 12yrs old I showed him the power or proper way how to swing ,loading bat path . Now Jace played the all-star games . Was nominated all-american baseball tourney in Sparks Nv. Tony he hit a grand slam to win the game. His team came in 2nd .nobody else hit a granny the whole tourney. I want to say thank you very much ,you brought up points that really helped us put the swing together . Thank you tony ,I'm danny Jackson

    Great video. Helped me understand that the rear leg and hip starts to uncoil slightly ahead of releasing the hands to create more stretch.

    Not sure if you read this, but I did a search for "best baseball channels" and you were #1 (after MLB which I don't count). You must be doing something that is getting you noticed. Domingo Ayala was #2.

    Matt,
    You also lengthened his stride, creating more linear momentum going into foot plant. His upper half is also behind his front leg in the "after" clip, adding more leverage.

      Yes definitely gave him more of a stride. Thanks for watching!

      Matt,
      Thanks for your response. Have you ever done a analysis of a leg kick/lift vs a more traditional stride - knee cocking or slide step? More ground reaction force with a leg kick?

    Great video! One of the things my 12 year old struggles with is the lower body “turn in” part of the load phase so as to get her hips in position to fire while still resisting with the upper body to create tension/stretch. Thoughts??

    People talk about timing alot and think its timing with the pitch, but sometimes its timing of the sequence that is off. How would you adjust sequencing for off speed pitches? Like some guys get too out front on a curve and hit all hands. How would you correct this to ensure power without having to guess at pitches? Learn to hit to all frields?

    Great video! I'm currently attempting to teach this "resistance" element to my high school fast pitch softball players. Can you tell me what specific drills I can do to get to where you did with the guy who increased his exit velocity by 10mph? I understand the concept, but I need a couple of drills...can you please help me?

    I was just wondering if you drop your back elbow to start the swing or if you use you front shoulder to start it

    • @Pr0gamingelite
      @Pr0gamingelite 6 років тому +1

      Ian Fontaine your swing should start with your hips. But between the elbow and shoulder, the elbow should fire first. Watch Justin turner

    Hi Coach'
    Great vid. I have a quick question, what is the footwork for fielding a groundball for lefty??? Is it left, right then left right and throw. Tell me if it is the same as righty or different.

    When youre resisting and pulling with upper body how much tension is there going to be? I was always under the impression that you want to be as loose as possible.

    • @AntonelliBaseball
      @AntonelliBaseball  6 років тому +1

      There is some tension in the body, but you are still relaxed if that makes sense. Just enough to hold the upper body back.

    • @KT-ed8hj
      @KT-ed8hj 6 років тому

      Antonelli Baseball what about lower half and legs? Do you consciously think about being as loose as possible with whole body?

    • @kevinklippel6223
      @kevinklippel6223 6 років тому +1

      When coach's say 'stay relaxed', what they mean is 'don't tighten the arm muscles'. Tight muscles are slow muscles. It's not a great tip bc it's not specific, even misleading. Guys tend to 'grab at the top' or 'tighten their grip' on the bat too early in hopes of creating bat speed, but end up slowing down (and swinging down). This gives an arm swing. If you are rotating the triangle (coach Matt video explains) you are removing the arms from the swing and won't really feel a tightness in the arms, but strength, control and consistency coming from the shoulders, torso and legs.

    • @KT-ed8hj
      @KT-ed8hj 6 років тому

      so is there tension in shoulders torso and legs? or are we trying to be loose as possible from head to toe?

    • @kevinklippel6223
      @kevinklippel6223 6 років тому

      The tension is the twisting between the upper body and the lower... like an action figure. I think you're over doing the tension thing. Relax and be smooth.
