  • Join us while we work on this wonderful narrow gauge model!
    The Hobby of Model Railways keeps getting more and more interesting for me. On this Video we look at improving my original design of the 009 Narrow gauge pannier by GWR which is a freelance loco which I came up with early in my channel days.
    We add DCC control to the loco to help improve its running, then we add alot of detail to the body.
    We do this in CAD and then 3D print it on the Anycubic Photon Mono X, after that we add brass details which really bring out the good looks of this loco.
    Hopefully you will enjoy watching the video as much as I did making it!

    I found out about something modellers call Scale Coiour a while back.
    It's not a product but rather a concept, the idea being that if you look at, let's say a real life train from such a distance as to make it look small, the atmosphere will actually mute the colour, because the atmosphere is a dense matter consisting of whatever weather happens to be happening that day, in other words it act's like a camera lens filter, it blocks out certain light waves.
    I recently googled it and was bombarded with products, nice, but finding out what effect the atmosphere has on the dispersal of refracted light bouncing of any given surface if viewed from a distance would in my convoluted opinion give much better results.
    I like how you've noticed this concept and wish you all the best with your journey of discovery.
    Cracking little self build that 0-4-0 though, what's not to like about it.

    So cute! The upgrades are great! With 3D printing, I’m looking at a normal filament printer for HO scale stuff, can you still get decent results from a filament printer in HO or is it worth putting in the extra cash for a resin one, I’m on a bit of a budget but could maybe stretch it if I wouldn’t be able to get good HO stuff out of a filament printer. I’d rather put in the money for something proper than pay less for something that I can’t get as much out of.

    • @OONeal
      @OONeal  2 роки тому +2

      I think the Filament printers can do a good job but I believe a resin printer will really get the detail you are after. Its just more messy with resin but if your ok with that then go Resin.

    • @vandenbricks
      @vandenbricks 2 роки тому

      @@OONeal my friend recommended a very fairly priced package with the UV curing thing and the printer, so I think I will go with resin and see where it gets me, I’ve seen resin prints before and have always been impressed by the quality so any mess is probably worth it!
