I'm a first generation Nica-American and grew up eating this. The first time I went to a Nicaraguan restaurant in Miami, I was confused and pleasantly surprised because all of the food on the menu was pretty much what we ate at home. It was all good. I would TOTALLY eat there if I lived in LA.
This video was mouthwatering. I love my Nicaraguan food, but as you mentioned there are really few places in Los Angeles to enjoy our good food. I heard about this place few weeks ago, and I was kind of planning to visit and I stumbled on this video and it help to wish to go and give it a try. 10% off...I will be there this week, thanks!!! 😋 For the people that live in LA and wants to know the location is on Western Ave, corner of 20th St.
I was just there a week ago and I also went to Portobanco's. Eating the Fritanga at both places. I prefer Portolano's. Give it a shot. It was really good and a lot bigger postings.
Be careful at Portobanco's when you order to go, open the bags and check your order, if you won't, don't be surprised that you are missing the 'tajadas' or they only put the plantains crumbles from the day before. 🤫
Mientras los cocineros sepan preparar comida Nicaraguense, la nacionalidad del dueño no tiene nada que ver. Por cierto, los nacatamales que venden en el MTOM, no tienen nada de Nica, y aun asi el dueño es Nicaraguense!!! Por cierto que el dueño del de la pico, tambien es mix, ahora venden mas comida mexicana que nica y los precios por las nubes!🙄
My husband is Mexican, and he and his family love Nicaraguan food, not because me, is because of the flavor. By the way, Mexicans and central Americans eat the same stuff ...rice, beans, tortillas, bread, chips, tamales, chiles, the difference is the way we prepare our food, and like my husband says, Nicaraguan food is very rich and tastier.😋

That is not 100% Nicaraguan restaurant owner is from honduras 🙄 original Nicaraguan restaurant is more down town on pico
yet it is still a Nicaraguan restaurant even if it isn't 100% Nicaraguan 🙄
