Yeah this is a really cool thing to have, never tough of buying a kit and making a portable version of it 😄
Thanks for watching my wicked friend! ✊🏻
@@RetroRalph always.... when I see a new review I need to check it out ! 👍
This looks like a ton of fun! Seems like a comfortable setup/way to play.
Warms my heart to see you and Kim having fun together.
Thanks for watching bud, we had a blast together with these. She seems to really like killing aliens 👽 with me. I’ll take it ✊🏻 although I would like a power up or two every now and then... she’s a power up hog. 🤣
With that big plastic floating device case on the bottom, I would feel confident in saying that THIS IS WARERPROOF
I built a huge dedicated 55" custom cabinet with this kit. Noticed a couple issues:
#1 the plastic used in the guns is not as durable as the "real" counterpart arcade guns. They will crack eventually. Also, we ran into trouble with HOTD 3. Often, it would reboot and glitch out on one of the final bosses. Leaving players stranded and requiring us to reboot. The 24volt failed on one of the guns as well after about 5 months of use. Aliens is badass on it though and plays perfect.
We have vastly different definitions of plug and play
😂😂 Well, it does plug in and then play but so get what you’re saying. Thanks for watching!
@@RetroRalph thanks, good video you have a new subscriber, a question to this version can you put other different games?
@@pablohoraciocastellanosgar8639 This is a kit meant to be for coin-op so it’s a closed system. You could add other games but you would have to reverse engineer the menu system and I don’t think it would be worth the effort. You would be better off just custom building it with launchbox / big box IMO. Thanks for watching and appreciate the sub as well 🙏🏼
My thoughts exactly
I just ordered one of these kits. And found the counters on AliExpress too. I'll let you know how it goes when it all arrives.
that is good to know I did not know they sold the counters
@@trelainshinholster6916 yeah $30 cdn each. Much better than the $149 U.S from happ. Global VR
I opened the gun and looked at the schematics from global VR and the 3 in 1 gun kit schematics. It isn't plug and play. But is is do-able. With a bit of wire hacking.
Did you get this to work if so please tell me how and link where to buy thanks
@@drunkeykong12 please did you get yours to work I am trying to do the same have guns and boards have power to display double 00 showing but can’t figure out how to get the counters working
"We've never high fived before" lol that was literally a scene from like every night with my wife playing 2 player games as of late...awkward high fives lol sometimes painful misses lol hysterical but soooo much fun :)
I hope we get a professional light gun cabinet from someone ICE with the added bonus of downloading more games as dlc
I would definitely buy. ICE just released a new line of arcade games meant for homes. One of them is the Jurassic Park arcade game with closed booth. I don't think you can add more games to it. If it's running on a pc I might be able to mod it to run more games but I am not spending $7,995.00 to find out.

@@MrMaxggangster I know about that I'm just waiting until their prices are finally $1,500
You don't need the full kit, you can get the guns, harness and io board (red) separate which are made by a different vendor. The io board shows up in windows as a usb keyboard (also shows up as the aliens io board in game as well) and just outputs key commands and the guns show up as direct input joysticks so it will work with any emulator and aliens right out of the box, the black guns with the usb connection have the counter and force feedback built into a board inside the gun which the colored ones don't have. You might have to flip the polls of the pots because the directions are inverted for some reason but its not hard to do, just a little soldering or invert in software and your golden.
Awesome vid man, if you decide to have a look and get stuck hit me up as I've done it a few times.
Dude, thank you so much for the tip. I’m hooked on these guns now. Any chance you could send me links so I know I’m getting the right stuff? I haven’t seen it parted out that way and that would be super helpful for not only me but anyone else who’s interested. Thanks in advance for the help my friend and I appreciate you watching!

“I need a gun, will you stop stealing all the good stuff?” That’s my girlfriend and myself playing Borderlands 2. We don’t fight in person, but we will passive aggressively mess with each other in a video game.
🤣 Yeah we had a good time with it but on Aliens I was constantly would of rounds and she would take all the power ups 🤣🤣. Thanks so much for watching!
@@RetroRalph
Me: I’m out of ammo, I’m about to die.
Girlfriend: *chuckles and then her character runs away from me*
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also... the one I had never had those rear LCD ammo counters working. If you open the guns up and look, they have a printed board they are attached to but no wires going to it
Oh no…. Really 😬
@@RetroRalph but, for what it is, its still a cool game unit. We pulled it a while ago and still have the guns/pcb. If you ever make it up to Oregon, you can just have em. 👍
That's a lot of wires!
Gets me really interested, but do they really feel arcade quality? The plastic on the guns doesn't look good.
It really gets me interested though. What about adding games?
I would like a VR version on these games. So much to choose on how to play games nowadays, I prefer to save space nowadays. Thanks for the review!
The gun vibrates, my wife would love this.
🤣🤣🤣
Lolllll
Fun setup!! Did I notice at the very beginning that these games are running on a stripped down version of Pandora’s box? Or were you just using a Pandora’s box to capture some of the images?
That is strange, I am sure it was shotguns in House of the Dead 3 and the ammo counter was on the sides of the screen not the bottom. It was a Uzi in House of the dead 4 and still the ammo count is on the side. But in your gameplay the ammo count is on the bottom and you are using automatic weapons in 3 when they were in 4
That was confusing me as well
man, setting up all of those wires looks pretty intimidating lol.
good morning brother I bought the kit a few months ago and managed to mount it to a pc without having to reverse the soldering as it happened to you. Most likely, the company where you bought it is the one with the problem. Anyway, I have a question. I noticed that you gave the yellow 12 Volt and the red 24 Volt, but could you indicate the amperage for both? I think that for 12 Volt they are 4a due to a scheme of the wiring that I found, could you help me if you know about the amperages, I say goodbye from South America, Chile, and thanks for always giving us great videos.
Awesome vid and always good to see Klassic Kim w/ ya.
This is so cool, I’m extremely tempted
Looks so cool... I wonder if I can make one out of my 3d printer and an old joystick...
I'm sure you could, that would be pretty damn awesome!
I can't wait for your future video. Disassembling a gun to investigate weak solenoids and possible upgrade for it.
Looking forward to the usb version test to see if it can be used with more games
it can :)
ua-cam.com/video/C1q7b-kdTcw/v-deo.html
It can be used for MANY games... HOWEVER... the Recoil only works for the 3 games. Very weird right? I mean, why House of the Dead 3 and not 4? And also Terminator 2?... has anyone even tried using these guns on Transformers? Or Jurassic Park?... urg... it just really Sucks that the recoil only works for those 3 selective games
hey Ralph! Would you still buy a set of these even after using the Sinden and Gun4IR? I know they're a different experience but the new breed of light guns are hard to beat for the price!
These are cool but kinda limiting since they’re so big and heavy. I would say go sinden or Gun4IR. Just know you will be on your own for the setup part.
@@RetroRalph yeah, if i was going to spend that much for just a set of guns I think I'd just go ahead and buy a T2 cabinet. lol
Finally a video!!! I've been seeing this all over
I want something like this so bad with all the shooter rail games but don't have the know how 😫
I like these reviews on the obscure items like this one and that driving can u did, I’m a subscriber now
Looks Super cool ,I'm still patiently awaiting my sinden light guns to finish that cab, but maybe down the road
If you can find the guns by themselves it'd make a great pedestal build or even a cleaned up tabletop build could be pretty practical.
That's pretty awesome!
Next time she goes in for a high five, throw two fingers, and say "Scissors beats paper. I win!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg! My ocd damn near gave me a nervous breakdown when I saw that wiring job! 🥴
This is pretty cool, so could this be configured for coin-op? I noticed it said free play in Alien, but does the kit have coin1 and coin2 as something that can be configured? Great video man!!
Yes
Had to give a thumbs up for the hassle you had wiring it up for us to enjoy. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks bud, it looks a lot worse than it is but I appreciate it. 🙏🏼
Fleetwood Mac....and See sitting on the shelf together 😂🤣...bad ass, mane!
How to play this gun with House of Dead 3. I can play the gun with Aliens with recoil, LED. However, the gun doesn't work om House of Dead 3. Please help.
I think I'm more excited about the possibility with this setup than the sinden light guns 🔫. Looks like a portable T2 control panel.
Awesome. We're definitely getting closer to reasonable light gun gaming
Does it work with MAME? Are you locked into those three games only? Are there any other buttons on the guns other than the trigger? It doesn't look like their are. For the price if it's a locked down system then it's definitely not worth it.
Kim is a good wife playing shoot em’ ups with you. I wish I could get my wife to just play
PAC-Man! You are right these guns are worth it for around $500. I feel most of us would want to mount it to a cabinet but I don’t think they would fit on an Arcade1up and the Arcade1up cabinets now are actually too nice to do that too. Plus that would be another $550-$750. For that price I would rather buy a sturdier cabinet to mount these too maybe from Rec-Room master or some company like that. Or try to get an older Arcade1up for the cabinet and buy a bigger and sturdier front to mount the guns on. I don’t even think anyone makes that to buy. Would probably would have to make one yourself.
so gun tracking on this is more of a joystick aim emulation as the gun is on its own yolk /stick.. thats cool but do you lose the real aim feel ? do you prefer hold in your hand light gun games ?
Super dope, but isn't their a cheaper alternative? I feel the price is way to high!
Sure, there are things like the sinden lightgun or even the ultimarc AimTrak but nothing that’s Arcade(ish) quality and mountable like these, at least not that I know of. If you just want to play light gun games on a big screen TV, Sinden has a great modern solution. 👍🏻 Thanks so much for watching bud!
Wondering if there is an installation guide to connect those wires to that power supply.
Nice. Enjoyed that. Cool idea to build it into a case. What kind of cabinet would you build this into?
Thanks bud. A pedestal with a wall mounted TV would Probably be fun. Are you thinking of making a cabinet for these or something similar?
Retro Ralph there is a guy on UA-cam called Killer Arcade Games- his channel is mostly about his Killer Instinct Cabinets but he converted a 1up into a pedestal style with a big tv on it- and made it into a Carnevil with light guns arcade. These guns are probably too big for a converted Arcade1up though? Anyways check out his Carnevil conversion- very cool. I myself am just gonna wait for hopefully a House of the Dead Arcade1up- or even better Lethal Enforcers!
Looks awesome.. what's a good Pandora box for gun cab?? Still struggling with getting games...
Should have picked up the gun panel. Makes everything so much easier to mount.
Where can this be purchased?
Wow such a cool setup! I like these guns better than the multi racer you got. You're the Macgyver of Arcades. I love the console you made to show us the light guns.
Help I ordered one of this kit and I'm not getting much help from the company I'm getting no video out from straight VGA or VGA to HDMI adapter I've tried several monitors and still no video I'm also getting no sound same issue as you had with no countdown display
Always wanted to see a review of these, solid price imo and seems accurate. Looking forward for more mods/reviews of this gun.
Well damn iv had this in storage for years and I finally got them out to start wiring and I don't see the vibration pcb…damn
The pelican case install was awesome! Just need to add an adjustable leg systemf whenthere isn't a convenientottoman...
Would be sick if someone came up with a shell design like Ghost Squad. The H&K G36c that can be 3D printed to make a DIY light rifle.
if you get your own set try to set it up w retropie shooters or try to add more games to that unit . I'm Shure you can figure it out to just add the guns to a retropie arcade1up , but i bet it would look sweet on a 1080p projector screen w surround sound
Great vid buddy, I actually learned something new after sending them to you and that’s that there are usb versions of the guns, where can you get those? I might get me some of those as well (probably like 200-300 for the two) to put them on a front end like Launchbox, Coinops or Hyperspin.
I wonder if those usb versions have force feedback solenoids as well to wire up that 12/24V power supply to them?
Just in case here is link for others, two of these usb versions of the gun (black color) are cheaper than the blue and red colored version of the complete set that includes the 3 games. You will have to setup your own games and front end on a pc to play games with these black ones though.

cool video showcase! but do you still call them light guns if they are mounted and use pots? haha, i thought rail guns were the more appropriate term for these type of arcade guns
You're right man; I just tend to generalize and even call Sinden a lightgun too.... It's not technically correct, but I'm old and light guns just sound cooler than... potentiometer guns... Haha. Hmmm “rail guns” ,.. I could get behind that though. Oh well... thanks for watching man ... I appreciate the support.
@@RetroRalph Pot guns may work too 😆
@@KongsRUs pots not officially legal here till March 🤣
Did you ever figure out why the ammo count down meters didn’t turn on?
So why is it that the recoil only works for those 3 games? And not for other shooters? Do you have an insight on that? :)
Hey Ralph, I am sure you have heard by now that A1up will be showing their new products on Jan. 11th. Do you think you will be able to stream the event on your channel? Thanks.
Hey bud; I hope all is well. There’s really nothing to stream since there won’t be a live event. However, The plan is to have John D and maybe a few others from 1up on the show around 5pm PST the day of the announcements (Jan 11th).
@@RetroRalph Thanks Ralph. That is so awesome. I'll be there. So cool dude!
That would be AWESOME!! Ill tune in for that as well!!
How the heck did you reload in that version of house of the 3?
Pretty cool looking , but seems like it should include a lot more than three games for the price. Still seems like a pretty sweet basis for a gun cab with true arcade guns.
Amazing setup! Did the player 1, player 2 and test menu buttons come with the kit or did you buy them separately? Thanks!
Hi Ralph are you getting the Atari Legacy arcade 1up cabinet just shown on Pdub's Arcade Loft?
Looks good to me. Great effort on your set up. I still dream on one day getting my hands on a Dedicated Point Blank cabinet.
some non-USB versions don't have working ammo counters :(
I got a pair of the USB versions (with nothing else) for about $350-ish. The USB powers the Guns and LED Ammo counters but the button lights need 12v and the recoil needs 24v
You don't need the IO board that is often listed with these since that just originally handled coin and volume stuff on the original cab
got a 12/24v power supply on Amazon and made my own Gun cart from a generic pedestal arcade cabinet kit. Used a Windows PC with BigBox running Aliens, FarCry and a bunch of TeknoParrot/MAME gun games
Windows sees them as analog joysticks so MAME setup is no problem, Teknoparrot and other games can utilize both guns if you use the DemulShooter software (similar to dual Aimtrak setups)
ua-cam.com/video/C1q7b-kdTcw/v-deo.html
I'm still finding games to add to the gun cart all the time, but I gifted the rig to my brother as he's the biggest Aliens fan I know.

Nice work. Love gun games. I used to arc splice fiber and that's some nice wire work.
I'm still wanting two light guns for .y arcade...or maybe for a separate lightgun arcade build. Thee thing that scares me with these are...if they arrive with something not working, what's the return like👀🤔?? That's a pretty penny to possibly get one that doesn't have working LED numbers like the one you received...and it could be worse🤷🏽♂️
Three games only Ralph or is it likely that you could use other light games like T2 etc??
Keen, but in Australia that’s about a million dollars so.....my 6 Dreamcast light gun games will have to suffice but, with a price drop to make under $1k Australian & some more games I am really interested.
Hey Ralph! How about a wiring tutorial????
All those wires look scary but this is something I must have!
Oh dang! Could you add a bunch of other ROMS? Like all the other Ringedge games? If so - this might be a pickup for me.
Why so expensive? Some game consoles have gun controllers that arent so much
Also the arcade ones were 24v and hit harder
I can digg em. I'd probably paint and clear coat the guns another color tho
They come in a black kit as well I believe, they look almost identical to the ones used on the original aliens arcade shooter. I suppose you could take them apart and paint them as well. 👍🏻. Thanks for watching bud!
I want a plug and play kit that’ll go into my hdmi on my tv and I can just go to hdmi 1 or 2 and just start playing. Why doesn’t this tech exist yet?? Or am I missing something? I don’t wanna have to use windows or anything crazy. I can get a 600 game preloaded old arcade style game from Walmart for $20 bucks, why can’t I get old arcade shooting games like that yet??
Great vid and good info. Cheers for bringing these to my attention 👍🏻
I literally just ordered the Sinden Gun with Recoil. And now I want those guns 😩
The Sinden is new tech and you will have many more options so don’t be sad.
The Sinden is more versatile and user friendly. It's also actually plug and play for people like me who are intimidated by all the wiring.
These sounds are so nostalgic to lunches at the pizza buffet.
Cable management OCD kicks in..... But COOL AF!!!!
Is there anyway to get this hardware to work with MAME running like the Jurassic Park games or VS Duck Hunt?
Arcade1up could buy these in bulk, build stand with artwork, put hdmi out and market it bring your own tv.
Definitely want that kit
I just got this product! But what is bothering me there was no schematics/instructions how to put this beast together. Does anyone have a pdf or something? And also I need the power supply.. But hopefully I can get this all figured out in the future. :DD
Is that aliens game available on any console system? Like the ps3, wii ,xbox
Im assuming they no longer have these?
Like why is it 2022 and I can’t have a gun that I can walk around the room with that shakes when I shoot it at the tv??? I’m so shocked by this actually.
Pretty damn awesome. I agree take the price down to $4 -500 would be great ... Be careful dont get too competitive with games you might end up on the couch
You think these could be wired to a computer and modded with stronger solenoids? I'd be really interested to use this with silent scope!
I’m going to buy this based on the answers to these Two questions. Can you remove the crosshairs and can you add more games?
No and No ... sorry my dude! I’m going to make a second video with the USB versions of the guns. With those you will be able to add most of , if not all of the positional shooters 👍🏻
@@RetroRalph GUNBLADE NY AND LA MACHINE GUNS 💪 are the two HEAVY Hitters
@@KING_KONK love those two! I’m going to evolve this so these guns can be used with those games too! I just ordered all the parts before China shuts down for Chinese New Year.
@@RetroRalph that was such a great idea building it in that case so it contains everything and you can also bring it where ever u want and play it on any tv you want. GENIUS
You can bring it to the hotel for CES2022 and you and Justin can play it together after you two get home from the Spearmint Rhino and before you go to bed
It would be fun building something custom with the guns
I’m thinking a coffee table to where the top flips over and raises up with the guns mounted.
Totally, tons of creative ideas you could go with for these. I like your coffee table idea, that would be killer man. Thanks for watching and supporting me my friend. 🙏🏼
This is awesome, super cheap compared to the real guns. You probably could check spacing, bet you could buy the same solenoid the actually guns use. And would love to be able to add more games. My only problem is I wish the guns were black, they look kinda kiddish. All in all super cool!
Love it! Would definitely buy the usb version so I can use other positional gun games. Thanks for looking into this. Great content as usual.
Looks like a ton of fun. My wife would like it... For a bit. Thats a big price tag though.
Could the solenoid(s) be beefed up/upgraded using the provided hardware/PS?
I tried a few of them and due to the 12 volts coming out of the board, using a higher powered solenoid there’s not enough power to drive it properly.
dumb question, would this work on a projector?
Want to get a usb version and hook up to mame but every one I see on that site keeps saying can't be plugged into pc....
