Painting a Still Life of My Tools

- I want to brush up (sorry) on my painting skills a bit, so in this video I am setting up a still life of some of my tools, a plant and ,of course, a pigeon to add some life to the painting.
The picture is 30x48 cm, acrylic on wooden board.

Uri, You may say impatience but you seem to paint how most sketch. It has a really great effect and very much impressionist feel. I work for a PBS TV station (WTIU) in the US, and while you don't paint it the same style as Bob Ross, it's quite as relaxing. Maybe more in the same style as Jeffrey Yarnell (I'm not a painter, so maybe not).
Still, it's interesting (and relaxing) to watch someone bring a painting to life.

I hear you! First year of arch school we did hand drafting and it forces you to really think about your drawing. It forces you to look at things critically especially when you move to ink and it's hard to find the undo button.
Your one talented guy. Your artistic skill and artistic eye sees the details even in the nuisance of the shadows and light. You a Rembrandt with the painting technique with a flair of Monet use of illusion or impressionism to look like the original but causes our eye to fill the details of the situation. Great painting, do you do any sculpting in rock or marble as your approaching Michelangelo and DaVinci like the shaking hand on the back saw, they would have thought that way, most average wood workers would had done a traditional handle for the back saw. These artists used many of the skills you are exhibiting in your work. You cravings in wood, Engraving in metals and wood, and the techniques and quality of your painting. Have you had any formal training or is it just a natural ability. I am learning a lot more towards natural ability. Your skills are much more that a amature, I am sure you natural ability and time will cause you to a great master very soon. Don't sell yourself short or tell yourself any different, I realized watching you are a very humble person but know this , you are very talented individual. You bless me through you humbleness and the beauty of your work in so many different mediums. Painting on a piece of wood the masters used wood to do many of their painting some time they painted serval pictures one over another layered deep with the paint. They used what they had available and maximized it to the fullest extent. Keep up the videos so I can learn more, be inspired and encouraged to do some of attempt some of skills you have displayed.

I like it a lot. The trick with the lemon, was something I have never thought about. I liked the first version of the brass back of the blade better than the final one. That being said, great picture! Greetings from Germany

I enjoyed that very much! Again I say that your talents show no bounds!!! Do you live in Germany? My mom, father, grandmother, grandfather and great grandmother all insisted that only English be spoken in the house, so it didn't take long for German vocabulary to fade away. It is such a shame. . . .with but a few examples most of our cultural heritage has been stripped away from us (8 children) and our children!!! Oh well!!!!!
