Let’s practice the Italian alphabet pronunciation together by learning how to spell words in Italian, even tricky ones!
Italian alphabet pronunciation can be a great tool to improve not only your Italian pronunciation, but also your Italian vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills.
Many students struggle with the pronunciation of Italian words in Italian, and that creates a problem in memorizing them and also in recognizing them when they listen to Italian.
But the good news is that Italian is a phonetic language, so if you pronounce each letter of the word correctly, you’ll be immediately able to pronounce the whole word correctly, since the word is just the combination of the single letter pronounced one after the other.
This will make memorizing words much easier and more efficient, and your listening skills will also improve as an effect.
With today’s Italian alphabet pronunciation practice, we’ll do that exactly!
Here’s what you are going to learn today:
• What the Italian alphabet looks like from A to Z
• The correct Italian alphabet pronunciation
• The real Italian alphabet sounds
• How we pronounce Italian alphabet missing letters
• How to spell words in Italian letter by letter
• How to spell and pronounce Italian words that are similar to English correctly
• How to spell and pronounce foreign words that are commonly used in Italian (using Italian alphabet missing letters)
In the end, you will be able to say the Italian alphabet correctly by yourself and to spell Italian words correctly letter by letter, therefore immediately improving your Italian pronunciation, vocabulary, listening, and speaking skills.
Hope you’ll love this video!

Your method of teaching is very helpful because you are speaking English too .Thank you
I love this videos because I'm an Spanish speaker so I can learn Italian and at the same time improve my listening in english btw my name is Valentina 🤗
Benvenuta Valentina!! (*welcome) I'm glad they are so helpful to you! I didn't know Valentina was used in Spanish speaking countries too. Is it common there? In Italy is very common, we have lots of Valentine :D
Is it little easy for u to learn itlaian bcos Spanish language is similar?
When I was taking Spanish in college, an Italian student thought he would easily pass but he actually failed because he frequently used the Italian words instead of Spanish. I think the similarities proved to be confusing to him.
Fantastic video for helping to break the habit of Americanizing the Italian language. Especially the tricky ones.
You are doing a great job.
We need full course from beginning to advance and you are only one who is making such good informative vedios about italian language.
Love from India.
Grazie mille, Aman! I'll definitely work on that at some point. Meanwhile, I do have a course for beginners, which follows the exact same curriculum I use in person with my tutoring students.
It includes listening to selected Italian songs, video lessons on grammar and pronunciation, and interactive exercises to practice all you learn immediately.

Just a comment regarding the alphabet, I am a native Spanish speaker, I was thinking in Spagniolo but was surprised with the non Latin based pronunciations that went from greek ( Y ipsilon, K kappa), english sounding (like P, B, D, G., E)... Found this interesting.... Just want to say you are marvelous Valentina, bravissima!
Literally... You the best teacher. Be blessed
Thank you so much, Hammad!
I'm Brazilian, I speak Portuguese so it turns out that the pronunciation for me is not so difficult because they are sounds that have in the portuguese too😅💞 Thank you so much!!

Grazie. The next one should be Italian animal names
Here it is! ua-cam.com/video/FQGMbVvo7JI/v-deo.html
Thank you. I was so hoping you would say 'euro' - specifically one euro. I have the worst time with that one. 😅😂😅
Yes, "euro" is terribly difficult for native English speakers. I will make a video on money at some point. Meanwhile, you can watch this video where I explain how to tackle vowels in Italian pronunciation (the consecutive vowels in "euro" and the difference in how we handle them between Italian and English is what makes it so hard): ua-cam.com/video/AzPBS9Pzays/v-deo.html

Good morning
I speak Spanish so I think it’s easy for me the pronunciations in Italian words 😅
Grazie, Valentina, questo video è stato molto utile. Sto cercando di usarlo quando pronuncia parole lunghe (come naufragavano, spedizionieri, singhiozzando, ecc.). Finora non ho avuto successo. Ma continuerò, grazie a te. Aspetto il tuo prossimo video.
Mai mollare, Ida! *never give up :D Piano piano riuscirai, ne sono sicura!
it's abit easy for me since spain colonized Philippines for 300 years and we somehow manage to have some of their words and accent in our language lolll
I noticed that too! We also have a lot of Spanish derived words in Southern Italian dialects (like Sicilian, and I am Sicilian) because we also had Spanish domination.
Nice....

Good video

My question is, why is the "c" in "ciao" different from the "c" in "occhio"? In one, it's pronounced as "ch" and in the other as "k".
How can I learn this?
I have a dedicated video on this exact topic: ua-cam.com/video/qEx41pOMq50/v-deo.html
