Is there an option to type in search queries into either the main screen or within an app to search for content? Doesn't seem so. I always find the voice assist to do a less than stellar job in getting the information correct.
I lost my control so can’t turn it on so what can l do
Does the volume buttons control the volume from the tv or front the chromecast itself? I need a device than I can use with a pc Monitor but don't know if this can do it. The fire tv doesn't control the volume from the device itself but the tv volume.
The volume buttons on the remote, control the TV volume via the infrared on the remote.

Can this device be used to voice search content on youtube after opening the youtube app ? or Will it also show youtube content in results when you do a general search on the main screen ?

Yes when you open the UA-cam app you can press te assistant button & say "Pocketnow Daily" or "Pixel 5" "show me electric vehicles" & UA-cam videos are shown,

My Input button doesn't work. What to do?
Unfortunately rewind and fast forward are awful on this remote on Disney+. It's an app problem that I hope Disney fixes.
Have they fixed it?

Too slow a video; for example, why did you need to show us that the Netflix button behavior was identical to everything else?
l use the JustWatch app, screen mirror it to my TV, it shows all streaming apps in the one app, just the same as this Chromecast device www.justwatch.com
Worst remote design ever. What sort of idiot puts the "ok" button right in the middle of all the directional scroll buttons and then expects people with big fingers to somehow completely avoid accidentally touching the directional buttons while trying to hit ok
Too bad the chromecast remote is made to fit the hands of a baby and not adults. I've got to find a normal size remote control that can replace this poorly designed device.
