#fibroids #MyFibroidStory
I was put on Oriahnn for 6 weeks before I was scheduled to have surgery to remove fibroids. My doctor put me on this drug to help with heavy bleeding before surgery and to make surgery run smoothly. It was an awful experience for me. I have never experienced breakthrough bleeding in my life, being on this drug for two weeks and I experienced breakthrough bleeding that lasted for two weeks and then I started my cycle. So that's literally 3 weeks of bleeding before a surgery which actually was longer than my heavy cycle that resulted in the need to have the surgery. I did not make it the full 6 weeks, I stopped after 4 weeks due to the bleeding, HAIR LOSS- that can be permanent, and can continue even after stopping the drug. The hair loss was a huge pill to swallow. I also experienced a bit of depression (maybe due to my hair falling out) On a side note, I felt my doctor really pushed for me to get on this drug - I was sent 4 weeks for free which really was a red flag. I typically don't write reviews but it is really hard to find honest reviews on this drug online, so hopefully my story gives you some insight on true possibilities of drug side effects. Good luck.
Omggg that's horrible..how are u now .I was on it for 2years..I did get like a period for like a month then it changed. That's the only thing that worked besides birthcontrol
Thanks for this video bcuz there arent any real patient reviews since Oriahnn is so new. Ive been taking Oriahnn for 8 months now to help with excessive bleeding from uterine fibroids. The first week I started Oriahnn I had a period for 3 days but I haven't had a period since. In the beginning I was nauseous and feeling so blah like I had the flu. This went on for about the first month then slowly dissipated. Just like u, I prefer not taking pharmaceuticals but the painful heavy periods that caused me to be anemic was exhausting! I was desperate and Im glad Oriahnn stopped my angry periods. i just hope im ok in the long run. The plan is to shrink my fibroids small enough to have them removed laparoscopically or to hopefully push me into menopause becuz I'm 45 years old. My wish is for Oriahnn to force my menopause so that i won't have to have surgery. as u know no bleeding stops fibroid growth and they shrink. Good luck with your journey, i wish u the best and thanks again!
Thank you for sharing. I wish you the best as well. LMK how everything works out.
Hi! May I ask what you what you mean by oriahnn forcing you to menopause? My dad is actually a doctor and recommended I try Oriahnn first before considering surgery.
@@travelteach512 Hi there. I am 46 years old which means Im nearing menopause. Being that Oriahnn is stopping my periods hopefully once I stop Oriahnn in 1 more year (becuz you cant take Oriahnn for more than 2 years) hopefully I'll be in menopause which means i won't have periods anymore and the fibroids will shrink and go away on their own over time because there is no blood feeding them. Also i recently went in for another scan of my fibroids and they are getting smaller. For instance one fibroid 7cm when i started Oriahnn is now 4cm. Keep in mind this menopause talk will not apply to you if you are young
Thank you so much for your review and the chance to read others' experiences with Oriahnn. I lasted only two days: started getting severe itching up and down my arms and legs--it felt a bit like poison ivy does--with little reddish dots in some places. My Dr. just told me to stop taking it and to be aware that if I feel any throat swelling, I'll need to go to an ER. Don't think that will be necessary, as it already seems to be clearing out. The comments here and the fact that skin irritation is listed pretty much first in the list of possible side effects were real warnings to take the itching seriously. Thank you again.
Glad you found this helpful
Sis thanks so much for sharing! My dr also prescribed and I am debating if I should take it. Wishing you God's wisdom on this crazy journey of ours!!!!
Girl if you can avoid surgery I’d do that. Try it for a month. Look for coupons if it’s expensive. They offer some from what my little research. I paid about $2 with my insurance.
Thank you for subscribing & watching. 😘
@@ThisIsFenique Sis!!! In 2014 I had the surgery but they grew back! I was basically 6 months pregnant. My dr wants me to do it again but for me that is not the remedy. Because they will grow back again. I am in the process of taking the holistic approach. Seamoss has definitely become my best friend. I've tried to incorporate the meatless products but they have so much soy and other estrogen triggering ingredients that it's not even worth it! So I have been trying to make sure my meat is hormone and antibiotic free, but organic can tend to be pricy! With my insurance the medication will be $5, so I will try it out and have a BV/Yeast infection prescription on stand-by (thank you lol). It is so important , especially among our community of black women that we keep this dialogue going since we compose of one of the highest demographics. I have heard some amazing stories on how diet has helped women shrink them. I will find you on ig to send you something that I discovered today that I am looking into. Know that you are not alone and we WILL GET THROUGH THIS!
xoxo

@@TheMsLeShow watched the video and a million percent agree. Sugar is the devil and I’m working on a plant focused low carb low sugar diet plan I’ll unveil in the upcoming weeks!!
Thank you for this video. I was just prescribed these and I start them in the morning. I am so scared of getting nausea from it. I was just on Norethindrone Acetate for 2.5 weeks until my Oriahnn came, and it made me feel HORRIBLE. Constantly nauseous.I haven't eaten good since last Wednesday. I would rather have the skin reaction and yeast infection than feel like that ever again! I'm not sure if I'm going to take it or not
Beautiful Queen! I'm praying for you 🙏. I just started Oriahnn in February also. It's been 3 months and my period have stopped. I feel nauseous all the time (drinking hot tea helps). I have warm sensations sometimes and headaches. I noticed I have been more tired/sleepy.(but I love to nap). I was so anemic before taking it I had to have 2 Iron infusions. Now I have gained weight and my blood work is normal 🥰. The symptoms are tough but it's worth not having periods and surgery. Your skin/complexion is flawless by the way.
Thank u ❤️ sending you love and I hope your fibroids shrink & disappear
Started this medicine right after stopping birth control pills. It was fine at the beginning but then I started to bleed everyday ( much less bleeding in quantity but it lasts for days) it’s been like that for a month now. I actually think this treatment ( because of the elagolix) directly acts on the fibroid and reduces it size, causing it to be inflamed and bleed a little bit everyday.
That’s the impression I had but I was uncomfortable with the tumor & than the side effects on top of that.
I’ve personally seen a lot of improvement taking “my happy flo” vitamins. They have two ingredients that are really successful in UK and Canadian studies in reducing fibroids and honestly my mood, cycle and cramps have been much better with them. The main one that I saw improvements on personally was the cramp pain and the length of the cycle. Oddly enough a surgeon prescribed me to take Orhiann and told me to not take my happy Flo to avoid any mixed interpretation of results or something and not only were the cramps bad and lasted longer but I’m still going strong on an 11 day cycle. Mine usually are only about 3-4 days. Once a year ago, it lasted about 7 for two cycles in a row which is why I started my happy flo and it reduced again but now that I haven’t taken it for a few months and only took Orhiann exclusively this month, I have concerns.
I’m seeking a second opinion but honestly after this video and the comments, y’all have echoed many of the concerns that I had, especially that of the newness of this medication and the menopausal symptoms.
I had to stop taking it because I had skin reactions. They happened relatively quick. I called the doctor about the facial swelling and she said stop taking it immediately. Thank goodness it was like only 5 bucks as I can no longer take it.
Yeah I think your body either responds well or rejects it. I hope you have a smaller tumor and it gets smaller eventually.
Thanks for making a video! I have been on this medication for 3 weeks. I had surgery six years ago and now my fibroids have come back. This medication has made my cycle worst. I have been bleeding for 3 weeks. It’s awful! I have never had an irregular cycle or heavy bleeding with fibroids. I stop the medication Today!!
Did it get better after you stopped ?
@@emmaak132 Yes…. I stop bleeding two days after. Now my cycle is normal. This medication didn’t agree with me. My doctor told me some people have to take it for a year for it to work with their body! I wasn’t going to take a chance bleeding for a year plus I was anemic due to the fibroids…now my iron is up.
I’ve been on it almost 6 months after a fibroid uterine embolization. No periods, of course I’m 52 it’s supposed to take me all the way to menopause. I haven’t noticed hair loss or breakthrough bleeding. I believe I’ve gotten some pimples which I’ve never had skin issues. I’m supposed to be on it a few more months to bring me to complete menopause
Thank you so much for this video. I was curious about this medicine but so scared of the side effects. Hadn’t found any reviews on the medication since it’s still fairly new. Thank you sis for sharing your experience
I’m happy this was helpful. Read the other comments too. Some women it works some it doesn’t. Sending you love and wishing you all the best.
First and foremost thank you so much for this video. I appreciate hearing the perspective of someone else who has also been taking this. I started in December of 2021 and it's now March of 2022. I've noticed the weight gain, and I have noticed some patches of my hair coming out. I have short hair anyway, but it's still something I am concerned about.
I would not get Surgery if my fibroid tumor Is 8 cm or less.I would 1st change my diet Monitor that for 3 months at a time but I think you should always consult your doctor bc everyone is different
My doctor was trying to get me to do a hysterectomy for a 5cm fibroid
My doctor told me to only start this when my period started, which I did , it was a few days ago, so nothing is any different now, but will by next cycle, I would much rather try this than have surgery. I guess some people start it mid cycle? That seems like it would cause issues. I am having a new procedure called Sonata, non invasive to shrink fibroids in July. My doctor is a woman, and she suggested it to me, it is very very new, but you can find doctors who do it on the Sonata surgery website.
How did this procedure go for you?
How did this go for you Angela? Thx!

Omg I’m on this medicine now and I’m on week 3 of bleeding! I’ve been sick and exhausted! I don’t want to be on it anymore.
I was told it takes a month or so to get in affect but clearly I couldn’t deal lol I hope everything works out for you 😘😘
Thanks my doctor recomeded it today for my fibroids they are suppost to send them in the mail.. Now i hear your review no thank you and knowing my body i would have all the side effects so. May get my cervix and tubes out i am 49 so that may be the best thing later
Hysterectomy may be the best option. Thanks for your comment and watching ❤️
Thank You for this review and thank you to the other women who left comments.. I had my fibroids removed 6 months ago and after surgery my doctor Really pushed this medication After I told him several times i was having multiple Painful periods in a month.. he still dismissed my concerns and told me to give it a try for 4months I am already having blood clots, abdominal swelling, fatigue and weight gain… I’m over it.. I’m trying to figure out why are doctors really pushing this medication? A new doctor it is… I am really questioning his motives
As you should trust your gut!
Sometimes they get commission on specific meds. I’m starting to suspect that we are the clinical trial -_-
My experience with the orriann in the beginning I bleed for a month felt like forever..but then from there smooth sailing barely had a period well for me was a big deal ..because it's like I was use to having symptoms but without a period...but then after 2 years my insurance didn't cover it anymore so I started a period which was out of control..so am back on birthcontrol it's gonna be a month .so idk if I start getting depressed or any type of side affects am off it immediately..but all I got was nausea.and that was all the side affects..so it worked for me
Glad to hear it worked for you. It worked for a friend of mine altho the experience a little bit of side effects
when i started birth control all my symptoms went away. but also, i always hear to reduce sugar intake because sugar makes them grow, otherwise, menopause should shrink them
I agree with sugar intake a million percent. I'm probably 15-20 years away from menopause so I couldn't wait for that to shrink them.
@@ThisIsFenique I would totallty agreee with that, I am still not at menopause should come soon but in the meantime it is awful to go through all the hardship of this condition sooo bad. I could barely work, it started to affect me 3 weeks out of a month. crazyy
Thanks for the review. I was wondering how others were with it before asking to get it.
I have a 10 centimeter fibroid, my doctor and I are talking about Radiofrequency ablation. Did your Doctor talk about it with you? What did she say about it.
We didn't discuss it because it 12.5 cm and she was worried there could be more stuff she couldn't see.
I just started taking it a few days now and I already started bleeding. I don’t do very good with hormones and systemic birth control. , and I have been very anemic due to fibroids..I was hoping it t would be a saving grace before surgery 😭😭😭😭..I feel horrible and tired .i don’t know if I will continue with it.
Wishing you all the best and hope you find healing ❤
Thank you for this video. I was doing a search for reviews after a doctor from whom I sought a second opinion recommended Oriahnn, afters having heavy period for over 2 months (May 15 to July 18, to e exact) while on Haley 24 LE. My doctor initially prescribed Otto-tricyclen, and it slowed my heavy period, but it was causing a clear discharge that although not a infection, was super annoying and uncomfortable. I requested to be put on Lara FE after a friend with exact symptoms told me it worked wonderfully for her. For me, it was a nightmare…2 months of heavy bleeding I’m leery that it’s been on the market only about a year…although 2nd op Dr says it been studied many years and in England a long time.
I’m like in that I don’t like to take meds. I also don’t want to have a hysterectomy. I just want the fibroids gone.
I think I’ll stick to the Ortho-tricilyn for now.
Yr rht there's a lot of gyn that don't get me am 43 years old and have fibroids..but yea I found 1 that can relate.. because the ones that I've had it's more like in and out don't pay attention of what works for u..I had 2 opinion..I had to switch 2wice in 1 year. Well my gyn are Jewish gyn..for all u ladies out there ask questions if u don't feel rht about birth control or any medication that there pushing u .always trust yr gut.. because is yr body not there's..
Agreed trust your gut
I have been taking this medication for almost 2 months, it was a alternative to surgery. I have gained weight, experienced massive hair loss and thinning . I’m natural and did the big chop 11 years ago. My hair was thriving. Oriahnn caused alopecia. There were times when I experienced serve nausea, dizziness and elevated blood pressure, which is not good. Don’t get me wrong I don’t have a cycle because of the medication, I’m just not willing to pay that price.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Sending you all the love and healing energy.
@@ThisIsFenique Thank you Queen.
@@ThisIsFenique the reason why I’m here is because in order for me to have this particular surgery named “Acessa” the doctor who’s doing the procedure wants me to take Oriahnn……when he initially mentioned it I googled it and was like nope! Then they called me to schedule my surgery date and said that’s the only way he can do the procedure. So I scheduled the upcoming surgery date….haven’t started the medication yet. I typed the name of this med into UA-cam and here I am listening to your experience and reading everyone’s comments. Besides my regular heavy cycles and low iron due to my bleeding I’m pretty healthy. I conscious of what I eat and I have a head full of hair that I don’t want to fall out because of some meds. After reading the comments I’m good!! I’m so good!!
Hru? Did you get the surgery?
My doctor prescribed it for me...i am super skeptical...i tallked with their pharmaceutical representative and a lot of my questions could not be answered. Im into numbers, data, statistics and my answers fro the rep boiled down to well "its a new medication". What that mean? In 5 years imma grow an extra foot?? On paper im a good candidate for this medicine BUT the hair loss is a big thing 4 me. My hair is already fine, the anemia already stresses the tresses, then imma double down on the guaranteed hair loss? Where Dr Sebi at? Lol. Trying the natural route if possible.
I just got prescribed this just started this treatment I've only been on it two days I haven't had any of the crazy side effects but just reading reviews and comments on this medication I am ready to stop it I am afraid to keep this going these people taking about two months in there hair falling out and all the bleeding ugh I don't want to continue this medication!
My doctor just prescribed this for me due to very heavy cycles & 2 very small fibroids (only 2 inches each)….idk listening to this & reading the comments is it worth all the side effects?🥺😫
You can try and see. Sending your prayers and hope the fibroids dissolve. :)
Loved the review! I started taking this yesterday for my fibroids and needless to say, I ended up calling an ambulance. My face is still swollen. I am calling my doctor Monday. I am not taking this medication!!

Has anyone dealt with hair loss with Oriahnn? I'm trying to consider if I should take this medication. But it says it may have hair loss which may be irreversible even when stopped.
Not that I’ve seen but I’ll ask friends who take it.
