As a Juvenile P.O I only encountered one youth that I truly believed was evil. I recommended him to be placed, which the judge agreed with. The PD appealled this, stating I did not exhaust all other options from least restrictive up. My boss wrote me up and told me I need to follow procedures, not my own beliefs. He was then released and my boss bragged every single day for almost 2 weeks how amazing he was doing and how wrong I was. By the third week he killed a young girl and was murdered himself the next day. Two young lives gone due to being forced to follow procedures and not my own belief.
I think your beliefs were based on knowledge and experience. Feelings that a youth is a danger to others, are also valid. You work with youths that can’t obey rules, or don’t want to obey rules. That is the baseline you start with, you know how their minds work. If there is a kid that sets off alarms for you, I would respect your feelings. “Something isn’t quite right” doesn’t always fit procedures, or protocols, but paying attention to it is always important. I’m sorry that you have to carry this sad memory.
I’m so sorry. But thank you for speaking up outcome might have changed the hearts and minds of the entire department. I don’t know about your boss. He sounds like a genuine piece of work. Protocol and procedure have become two gods that are overpowering intuition, which is one of our greatest gifts. Thank you for the work you do.
@@miracabogard2680 Actually he did not. He called it “a lucky guess”. A few months later the entire department took a test. It was a new evaluation template we would be scoring the youths with to see how much involvement they need and in what areas. So the Chief announced only 2 people had perfect scores. It was me and a director of another unit. I honestly believed that my supervisor would start respecting me where after this. Instead he told everybody that I must have been giving the answers because I’m friends with the guy who runs the training department. (I wasn’t given anything) Sadly, stuff like that happens a lot to me. Something about me makes people assume I am not very smart.
Having spent 30 years in private practice as a psychologist, I have never found a psychologist who would be prepared to put their professional standing on the line to swear that a person such as Daniel would never reoffend. I have worked with families who had children who, from a very early age showed signs of psychopathy. I do not agree that someone like Daniel, who apparently was very narcissistic, would come out of a system, such as the one he is presently experiencing and be able to re-integrate into society safely. It just does not make sense.
I don't think anyone - however well trained and experienced - can swear on any human behavior, only give an opinion as to potential. As for this young fellow, his future may depend on the influences of whatever he experiences during incarceration. A continuation of his childhood dynamics - neglect, bullying - certainly wouldn't bode well. On the other hand, treatment can sometimes help a genuinely psychopathic adult learn to follow the rules of society, if only because it benefits them. I spent 30 years as a psychotherapist in community mental health, meaning we treated anyone but most often those underprivileged progeny of generational dysfunction. I probably saw more psychopathy than I recognized at the time, but I recall a smart little girl who demonstrated the same lacking empathy and remorse described here. Although she didn't present violent urges, I thought there was significant risk for all kinds of problems in her future. Like this kid, she presented excessive challenges to her mother and, as I think with this family, her mother could not or would not step up to the very high demands of parenting that her daughter required. It was easier, or at least more manageable, to make excuses, indulge, and avoid. As for pathological narcissism, it's pretty difficult to suss that out in adolescence. Most teens are raging narcissists. Just as most kids under the age of 16 are understandably prone to fantasy and ignorance of consequences. I was surprised to hear so many experts in this case seemingly overlook that. But then, it's a TV production edited for drama.
@@mjinba07 I didn’t say swear to, but I believe that a psychologist should not be advising that a dangerous offender, on their recommendation, be released into the public domain, unless they are so sure that they would put their professional standing on the line for it. Anything less would not give the public any safety.
As someone who grew up with an older brother with a personality disorder who had exactly the same parenting as us other siblings , No children aren’t born “ evil” but some children are born with issues that have zero baring on their upbringing or parenting , My brother was always a selfish manipulative bully who got worse as he got older , It wasn’t my parents fault , there was no divorce , no abuse , no neglect , It also had nothing to do with social media as he’s in his 60’s now , Just born with a personality disorder and very good at manipulating every situation to make the world revolve around him
No they are not as you say “Evil”, they have a personality disorder. Again as with all disorders there is a spectrum. Obviously he was at the precipice. Mastered at an early age
My parents divorced when I was 13. Mum and I moved from England to Australia. I had been in boarding school, but in Australia I went to a state high school. But...neither of my parents neglected me. They were both very mature and practical, and I never felt a bad effect. I knew they both loved me just as much. And were engaged with my life. That makes a huge difference. I have had a very happy and fulfilling life and have been well equipped to deal with the ups and downs of adult life.
This is to the point exactly. A child, safe in his room with no one beating him, doesn't mean he isn't in a lot of trouble. It matters that a child is CONNECTED to others, his caregivers in particular. It's easy to ignore a child when he isn't being disruptive, but parenting means being involved without being intrusive. It's amazing how many people have no clue how to manage that. His behaviour was a product of poor parenting, not divorce.
It affects everyone differently and kids especially are vulnerable during that time when parents focus on each other and the stress and neglect the best interests of the children. Not all divorces are made equal
Sadly, the world is in a state where mental illness is at its ugliest point. It's also in total shambles in so many ways. There's NO EXCUSE for so many things, but here we are. Reality, is also sadly, a b*tch.
Surely there's just not enough information to make the call, you never know what goes on behind closed doors so it's impossible to say if this steers closer to nature or nurture....
Normally, no. People may suffer emotionally or mentally as a result of divorces, remarriages, financial setbacks, change of schools, deaths of others, even loss of a pet, but most come out of them, either by working it out for themselves or with counseling. A few though, get put over the edge. They off themselves or others.
From the age of 12 courts can actually ask them who they want to live with, my take is they know best as we don't exa2see what goes on in said households.
@@TheKeeperMadzI think the post said the child decided which house the family is to move into, not who they want to live with. They were referring to when the partner mentioned about the home they were going to move to together. Obviously the father is absent from this story, so it may be safe to say he pretty much moved on with his life without his son.
His life is over? What BS. His mum’s life is over but the Devil child is coming out when he is a below 30. So unfair! He needs to be in jail more than 16 years!
I guess when you're in the situation you get exhausted of the constancy of the issues. And you kinda just hope it resolves itself or something... Not an excuse, but this seems to be what transpired in this case. The partner mentioned something like that.
@@pamelabrown3058yes. You are right. Just can’t understand why his mother never cleaned his room. If she personally found what her partner found surely she would have realised how serious things were?
Right and wrong weren't the only dynamics at play here. What about fantasy vs. reality? Internal vs. external locus of control? Necessary vs. sufficient parenting? When anyone under the age of 30 commits such a crime, their brains are not at all fully developed.
Where is this child’s father? Not a mention of him, did he just completely reject him and evaporate from his life? She was made a solo parent after the divorce and her new partner is left to deal with all of this.
@@marylou4324yes, I wish that she may do a follow-up visit with the young man who killed his parents. Hopefully he is getting some type of good counseling if he was to ever get out of jail. He needs years of counseling maybe not even be allowed around computers and horror movies for sure. It scares to to think 🤔 this is a very bad reason to let watch these kinds of things. Maybe he would not have killed his mother if he had not been allowed to view these things for years. I wonder in jails are they allowed to view internet like violent programming?
I'm not sure that whether he can be REhabilitated is a fair question. At 14 he was never fully habilitated to start. There are SO many examples of troubled youth healing. For a poignant read, check out Bruce Perry's book The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog.
@@Cups_of_Tea_System Just reading the title of that book rec sent my stomach into a free fall. Sometimes I think it's a miracle kids turn out as well as they do.
In all fairness, society doesn’t hold adults accountable for their bad behavior anymore, either. There always seems to be an excuse when someone behaves badly, rather than recognizing no matter the reason, unacceptable acts are just that, not to be accepted or condoned.
That’s what I was thinking. Left alone because she didn’t want to deal with him… come on… yes divorce is horrible but you know sometimes even with all the boundaries and supervision they turn out bad. Saw a documentary of a single dad that try so hard to help his son after his wife left them and he became a murderer… saw the dad crying bc he got him help and loved him but it did not work… the guy is sitting in jail for life…
It does seem to me that after the divorce his parents went seperate ways. Daniel who needed more care and attention for the loss of his life he once knew. Blamed his mom because she too wanted to get on with her life and found a new partner. So now Daniel had no one on his side. So his way of dealing with it was to try and control his mom. I do not believe he was evil what he did by killing his mom was. Daniel needed more love and attention after the divorce not less. He felt he got less and blamed his mom. Very sad story for sure :-(
Now wudnt tht be a treat. I doubt tht daniel will ever tell the whole truth about what he done. I also think the he thought tht he was smarter than everybody else & tht he wud either get away with it or wudnt get a harsh sentence because of his age, like most teen killers 17 & under😃🇦🇺
Focusing on the behavior rather than labeling children as "evil" is crucial for understanding and prevention. Early signs, like harming animals or other children, skipping school, and vandalism, are significant red flags. These behaviors often indicate underlying issues that need attention, not *condemnation*. Proper intervention and continuous support can make a difference, potentially preventing future tragedies. It's heartbreaking that Robert Thompson and Jon Venables didn't receive the help they needed before their actions escalated. Society has since learned the importance of vigilance and support for at-risk youth, aiming to prevent such incidents from happening again. Which is ultimately what we all wanted. ♥️
@SlimStefani this really isn't true. Some people can't be changed. They're born like that and nothing will help. Nobody wants to hear this but it is true
This child was a nightmare from probably the get go, namely because he had no accountability in the home. He obviously never had encountered any sort of discipline or responsibility given in the home which made him arrogant, self centered, and beyond reproach. His sentence (given his crime and possibly of being paroled), is appalling. This monster should NEVER be released. Period.
@kellymurphy6667 seemingly absent mom too! Not holding him responsible or accountable for a single thing.... she didn't deserve to be murdered, but she should've held him more accountable & included him in life!! 🤷♀️
@vitalucas9452 well, that's why you start when they're little. Set standards & boundaries & don't let up. Parents these days wanna be friends rather than actual parents. 🙄
@kellymurphy6667 my mother ditched us when I was 6, my brother 8. Not one penny of child support nor acknowledgment or involvement. My father shuffling 3 jobs. I nor my brother went & murdered anyone. I'm a college graduate in a medical profession, & my brother a 3 time deployed Army Ranger. It's all in whatever parental expectations & standards. So..... 🤷♀️
My brothers wife had a young son that I’d be willing to bet will become a killer. He’s a loner to the fullest extent, has zero friends, talks about killing animals and actually does, talks about wanting to see people dead. The list goes on and on. They came to my house and I met him under my carport. I said baby they have food inside. His back was turned to me. He said I’d like to burn down the house with everyone in it. I said, excuse me. He turned around looked me dead in my eyes and repeated what he said. I pulled his mother aside to let her know. I didn’t tell her in front the entire family, she said oh girl he is just going trough a faze. He thinks he is a vampire. I was so confused with her reaction. I think parents of kids like this stay in denial. Sadly, I think someone will lose their life by him. He is now 18 years old and hasn’t changed one bit! Thank god he never came to holiday dinners after three day he said he wanted us to all burn. If we’d have a get together now and he’d come, I swear to god I’d make up a reason to leave. I’ve watched way too many of these cases on here.
That red flag of a psychopath just tell her to becarful especially if she’s got other kids they practice with their own family they have no remorse no emotions they could have a body in a boot of a car stopped by police for routine check without any emotions they get away with it they don’t care about anyone
Only thing you can do is if you hear of anything happening in your area. Mention him to the Police as a possible suspect. Also always be careful of you and your family. Prob is hard but stay away as much as possible.
urm he could be schizophrenic, they often think when it switch them that they are this or that.. even psychotic episodes can have such pattern of behaviour. perfect exampel of oh my sweat angel and lets put our heads in sand and everything is fine..
My mum bought up six of us kids and other people's, everytime we would winge about something, mum would just say the words, you have a clean house, clean clothes always plenty to eat,and unconstitutional love, you have more than alot of kids, appreciate what you have.
I went through something worse than he did and as angry as I was at the time at my parents, I would never hurt either of them. I was 11-14 years old at the time and I (now 46 years old) just reread my diaries from that time, and I wrote about how I felt my mom didn't love me anymore and she ruined my life by moving us to an entirely different state to live with another man (not my dad) and his two kids. I can still feel the sadness, hurt and anger that my little child self felt. However, I love my mom so much and the only thing I could think to do to show my displeasure (about leaving my, dad, my home, my neighborhood, my friends, my school, my state, my relatives, my life really) was to be gloomy and withdrawn (the opposite of my normal self). There is definitely something wrong with Daniel's brain because a normal mentally stable child would not be able to do what he did.
Because you were a normal child and your whole world was turned upside down. No child should go through that. I hope you were able to reconnect with your poor father. I can’t imagine his pain .
I hope you aren’t trying to rationalize his horrific behavior. Sometimes children are just plain bad. All the help will not work. And sometimes we just need to keep these children separated from the public.
" The Bad Seed " is an old movie. It's an example of a child that kills for no apparent reason. The 14yo in this story shows that life immitates art sometimes. Woah.
@@scarlettmasin1204 Reason and rationalize are two different words. We know the reason Daniel killed Jacqui: he wanted to act out a fantasy to see experience killing someone. He is a psychopath.
Just listened to pod cast done by his brother, Dominic. He has a much different take - Mother's "boyfriend" was actually not around the last 18 months, and wasn't even her boyfriend - she dated him briefly. Also, Mother did take Daniel to be evaluated at a clinic - separate from school. Psychologists said he was fine. Dominic said Daniel is an extremely bright and manipulative psychopath. Most of this documentary is based on people's perspectives who weren't even there or know the individuals. Dominic sounds like a remarkable young man.
I wondered about that. When you marry someone with children you are marrying the family. It sounds like the stepdad was just there for the s*x and to criticize Daniel. Maybe a guy's night out once a week might have helped blend the family better.
@@mattwyrick8394 Spot on , and those psychologists that said there was nothing wrong with him , were wrong. Since when does a normal child defecate and urinate in their room? There was a lot of neglect in many ways.

I just finished watching an interview that Daniel's younger brother, Dominic gave. (I can see in the comments a few people have also.) He says the family has been offered money by documentary makers but they have declined and the only one that seems to be profiting off these documentaries is his mom's "partner". Dominic says the guy wasn't around all that much and remembers meeting him only 4 times. He was never a 'stepdad'.
Your also talking about a mom who let her kid call the shots. Doesn't matter why! He was a spoiled, undisciplined child, and it seems pretty common in alot of these horrific acts.. I'm not victim Shaming, the fact is he never had any consequences, and wasn't scared of punishment. And his sentence proves he didn't need to be. It makes me sick.
Evil does exist. No excuses for this extent of evil and all planned. Wow! I am truly sick of people making excuses for psychopaths. That kid is one! Demonic!

It exists. I’m trying to get my daughter help but I’m terrified of her. I go to sleep barricaded in my bedroom with anti kick in locks on the door so she can’t get at me. I can’t have her at school because she’d hurt other kids. The police have assisted me in getting her to hospital three times so far so that she could be chemically restrained. More recently though she’s been trying to control everything in the house. She seems to flip between personalities and when she flips what comes out is terrifying. She was adopted at 3 and was badly abused in a foster home before that so she may have a split personality. I haven’t ruled out demonic possession.
Yet another emotionless psychopath that kills to get there own way or ill guided revenge. To serve only 25 yrs and be back on our streets again is frightening, as who will be the next victim he takes on!
He’d get life in the US with a possibility of parole after 25 but he wouldn’t get the parole- or a new name or his face blurred. It’s all public record here.
@@myunknownland9272No, he is his stepdad. More viewers are wondering what happened with the biological father. Strange how his role in this tragedy is hardly mentioned.
@@myunknownland9272I have to correct myself. Simon is not even the stepdad, he was the mother's boyfriend for a while. He has a questionable take on the events. And I find it questionable that this show gives him a platform. I just watched the podcast with the brother Dominic Bartlam. It's on ep. 111 of Teachers Talk Crime
I don’t think the divorce had anything to do with this psychopath killing his innocent mother. I truly believe some kids are just maniacs regardless of how good you raise them. He sounds like a spoiled brat that decided he was gonna take the life of the one person that really cared about him. It’s really heartbreaking how she must have felt knowing that her own child was currently taking her life. 💔🙏
The reason people don’t accept that is because it leaves us feeling helpless - if they’re born like that nobody can be blamed, no one could have loved him more, raised him better - we can’t feel better about ourselves and point fingers and say we’d never be bad parents like that. It also leaves anyone vulnerable to having a child who despite normal rearing (not perfect) will still be like this.
There was a case in the US of a nine year old calmly killing his mother and her new husband because he didn't want to move schools. So, this reason could have been enough for sick individuals. The man in the US served time as a juvenile but killed other innocent women as an adult. He claimed to be innocent even after being convicted. The mindset is narcissistic.
We don't know what happened behind closed doors with him and his step dad and mother. It's possible there was more going on. He also could've been a social outcast at school and blamed it on his parents. I'm surprised they didn't get psychological help for him when he was displaying extremely abnormal behavior. Not blaming the parents, it sounds like they tried their best with a very difficult strange boy. But we really don't know the full picture
@@tikusblueI agree. One never knows, he could have been abused. (I'm not making excuses for his actions, but something could have pushed him over the edge)

There is such a thing as evil. People can absolutely be evil and it can start with childhood. People don't like to hear that but it's the truth regardless.
The brother, Dominic Bartlam, gives a lot more answers than this documentary does. Dominic is interviewed in the ep. 111 of Teachers Talk Crime. Apparently
Children can be very evil. When I was small, one kid tried to strangle me at the day care, and later on two sisters tried to drown me at the park swimming pool, the lifeguard was busy reading comics so didn't see us. I fought the two of them and with one huge effort threw them off and survived. Today these three are living happily with their families and one praises God all day.
I wonder if the "Godly" one remembers you and has sought you out for forgiveness? The memory has stayed with you all your life. I know because my older sister very nearly killed me twice when we were young. I'll never forget it. An apology would have meant so much before she passed 10 yrs ago.
@omidee2926 I doubt she remembers what she did, and even if she does, she has never apologised. She is living her life happily. I am the one who lives with the awful memory of fighting for my life. I hope God will judge them one day, it's probably the only justice I will get. I am so sorry to read what you went through, I agree an apology would have gone a long way. Thank you for your kindness. ❤️
Jo Frost is great as a narrator and host--quite analytical and concerned! Thanks for sharing. Wonder if she could do something on that tragic James Bulgur case???
I don't agree with the doctor saying divorce made this child do such heinous crime. This type a crime is done only by a monster with special evil deep within. As a child myself of divorce, abuse, I could have never ever think of murdering anyone specifically my mother. Even though I was abused by her. It takes a very special evil, a monster in the making, a monster already born with devious thoughts. A monster many didn't know, but his mother must have seen signs of something wrong with him when little. A mother knows but most mothers will protect their child right to the very end. Even though that child is the devil himself. That's and unconditional love 😢
Totally agree. Psychopaths turn up in all walks of life, like genetic disorders. Parenting is not the issue, although I would still point out it would be terrible to try and discipline and love a psychopathic child.
This is what affluence can do to narcissist children. It’s fuel to the fire. They never had to pay consequences for their actions’ therefore anger builds.
This stepfather doesn't seem to have put a lot of effort into helping this child. He witnessed the mother not being able to take charge as a parent but never stepped in to help. Same goes for Bio dad who is not in the picture also. No male role model in this child's life.... Seems like no one cared enough
It’s his step father he probably didn’t like his step father and was probably told to mind his own business it’s not his biological son he should’ve called his biological father
Joe, thank you for expanding your repertoire (a list or supply of things that someone or something can do). This story is really quite sad. Thank you for bringing it to light.
Can children be psychopaths? YES, because people are born with this 'trait', this malfunction. Disturbing behavior from a very young age always surfaces in hindsight with these people.
As someone who's studying her honours degree in psychology and criminology, you know not all people diagnosed as a "psychopath" and "sociopath" are not killers and live normal lives? We may not be able to formally diagnose kids with disorders before 18, but we can notice signs and with *certian* people, early intervention can help. Especially sociopathy (as that's more learnt behaviour mixed with SOME nature)
@@rachealjohnson9739 What? They live normal lives? Emphathy and compassion are the norm for normal human beings and are totally absent in said conditions..That's why it's a malfunction. So no, they do not lead normal lives.

The partner said at the end of the interview "I don't know if I ever did have any feelings for him". That is a strange thing to say about the little boy in that wedding photo.
I think they've painted a pretty clear picture of what kind of person he was. No matter a child or adult. He certainly doesn't appear to have endeared himself to people or drawn them in.
This new partner (Simon, the interviewed) didn't seem to have had a role in the boys' lives at all. And a small role in the mother's life. I just watched the podcast (Teachers Talk Crime) with Dominic Bartlam. He is Daniel's brother. This episode is probably not very well researched. No mention of Daniel's biological father at all, blowing up the questionable view of bypasser Simon.
That was his real father, they married when he was 3. There was no mention that the mother's boyfriend at the time of her death was ever married to her. It just said they were going to move in together.
The problem is that some children never learn the word NO. I know of a girl that slit her wrists after having her phone confiscated. Please do not normalise this sociopath's horrific acts.
I don't believe that he is able rehabilitate. He's been studying human behavior. What do you think he's learned in prison? Plus there's something organically wrong in his brain.
Not all parents are created equally. I can attest to that. I was born 10 years after my older brother and he almost killed me when I was toddler. I can still remember it! He sat me on the couch and set the curtains on fire. told me to stay put. I was little, I did, and he ended up coming back. Narcissistic father, maybe? He certainly seems to be narcissistic. Easy to put it all on him. Society ALWAYS put it on the child. Father abuses daughter" SHE is then labeled as having "Daddy Issues". How unfair!! It should be her DADDY has issues. I mean, that IS what is happening. Familial relationships are so complex. It is hard to know what is really going on behind closed doors. It does seem neglectful to leave him on his own for hours on end every single day. To a child? ANY attention is better than no attention.
Watch Dominic pod cast with two teachers. He explains that Simon stole his mother's wedding photos and sold them to the press. He also states that his mother and Simon weren't in a real relationship. Simon never stayed at the house and he only saw him 4 times. Simon just up and left one day and they never saw him until after his mother was killed. He states that Simon only does these interviews for money and makes lies up. This has been confirmed by his aunt. Their family and friends have been repeatedly asked for interview and offered a lot of money.
I do too! I just wished the content creators did a better job in researching this case. To give this man Simon such a platform was a big mistake. He wasn't a part of the boys' lives (I mean Daniel and Dominic) and probably hardly a part of the mother's life. I wished they had interviewed Dominic. And their aunt, who watched over the boys a great deal.
How is he supposed to be rehabilitated if there is no education or anything to help him with rehabilitation. He will be a danger if he gets no assistance. He can't do it alone.

I would not want Daniel to max out of prison and live anywhere close to me and my family. I would have to think the same is true for most. To put that burden on unsuspecting innocent people is careless. I hope Daniel is rehabilitated, but he needs to leave prison and do a stint within care psych care to be evaluated before turning into population. The mother relied on big tech to babysit her child and to raise him and it taught him to be a murderer. I would have liked to find out if the younger brother still has a relationship with Daniel and where did the younger brother live after the death of his mother. Jo was absolutely fantastic. She is such a bright and lovely woman.
I dont know why they dont make youth offenders continue their education and have psychiatric/psychological care. Not all youth offenders go into the adult prison system, and even if they do they dont necessarily spend long there. And even with Daniel, if he were to get out of prison like Jo mentioned, before hes 30, or even if he had to stay until he was in his 40s, he could be released. Not continuing their education or getting them mental health help, even just the mental health help of being in prison and thats effects on them, means youre letting them back into society with bo hope of being or even trying to be a functioning member of society. Say someone went to prison for something not as heinous as what he did, they could turn their lives around and become good people, but giving them nothing to work from is basically pushing them right towards a life of crime as a means to make money and to fit in with a group of people.

Did your Boss ever apologize for disregarding your educated intuition on this?
Also I'm so sorry you have to carry that with you in life, I cannot imagine...
I wholeheartedly agree. It doesn't make sense either
I was also thinking - this is not straight antisocial behaviour, but for sure a lot of malign narcissism. Thank you for the professional opinion.
He was only that way because of his mother.
As someone who grew up with an older brother with a personality disorder who had exactly the same parenting as us other siblings , No children aren’t born “ evil” but some children are born with issues that have zero baring on their upbringing or parenting , My brother was always a selfish manipulative bully who got worse as he got older , It wasn’t my parents fault , there was no divorce , no abuse , no neglect , It also had nothing to do with social media as he’s in his 60’s now , Just born with a personality disorder and very good at manipulating every situation to make the world revolve around him
Wow, our stories are so similar!😢
It’s difficult to accept this truth. We all want easy answers.
No they are not as you say “Evil”, they have a personality disorder. Again as with all disorders there is a spectrum. Obviously he was at the precipice. Mastered at an early age
I dated someone like that. I didn’t realize what I was dealing with; I was naive to personality disorders.
Well said .
❤
People divorce, leave private schools and join new families. No excuse to be a murderer.
It affects everyone differently and kids especially are vulnerable during that time when parents focus on each other and the stress and neglect the best interests of the children. Not all divorces are made equal

That’s what I was thinking. Left alone because she didn’t want to deal with him… come on… yes divorce is horrible but you know sometimes even with all the boundaries and supervision they turn out bad. A whole lot of neglect

Jo does a great job with this doc.
Hopefully more to come?
Enjoyed the coverage.
Thanks from Indiana.
Jo, so good to hear your voice and your wisdom again!
It is possible to be born a psychopath. With a psychopath you won't necessarily see it until it happens.
It really isn't, though. 🙄
@@Cups_of_Tea_Systemit is, genius

Jo Frost is incredible at everything she does. This is so well put together.
Those pictures of that boy creep me out!
I was thinking the same thing 😮
Yes, he is rather sinister looking.
I guess those pictures are selected on purpose
@@e.k.4508of course
This is what affluence can do to narcissist children. It’s fuel to the fire. They never had to pay consequences for their actions’ therefore anger builds.
His eyes in all the pictures, look dark & evil. The side smirk. Scary.
This man is NOT his stepfather, only a boyfriend of the mother
Not the stepfather. Never married his mother.
@@EMVelez might not have married the mother but he was there like a father figure and the male head of the house
@@marm8523 They did not live together.
Joe, thank you for expanding your repertoire (a list or supply of things that someone or something can do). This story is really quite sad. Thank you for bringing it to light.
I love Jo Frost narrating. She's perfect.
Has anyone ever interviewed him? I would love to hear his side.
Also, stop flashing your 'degree' as it means zip these days
@@jesterday2222 with you up until you say education is useless, someone with a masters certainly has a more informed take than an armchair psychologist commenter
@@grogsmashrock7240 Who says I am?
I think the most important thing said here is that no one challenged him and guided him right.
Cause his mother didn't want to apparently make a fuss incase the son goes off
@@jennifermaddy2442 Parenting isn't "making a fuss". Giving that kid boundaries would've saved them all.
Definitely, that's important for any kid. But especially a kid who seems to lack natural empathy and who struggles with anger issues.
Disgusting that he used his room as a toilet, didn't his mother notice this when cleaning?
The smell alone...
Well it’s obvious that she never cleaned his room…. And apparently she has no sense of smell either!
Come on at 14 he should be cleaning his own room.
She was probably to scared to clean it
@@sassymuma Sure, but how do you not smell a cesspool in the other room?
Poor Mother what a terrible ending to her life 💔just tragic ...so sorry for her .May she rest in peace 🙏..
He's sentenced to LIFE!He'll serve a MINIMUM of 16 yrs in prison. It doesn't mean he'll be out in 16 years.
What would freud have to say about that? One example of one child who commited matricide being rehabilitated ? No not one example.
The mother and stepfather couldn’t smell that coming from his room??
Further proves they never paid any attention to him. Very sad.
He was clearly neglected IMO
Imagine the first real consequence you ever face in your life is a prison sentence 😳
@@e.k.4508thanks for the podcast information
That was his real father, they married when he was 3. There was no mention that the mother's boyfriend at the time of her death was ever married to her. It just said they were going to move in together.
He seems very cold to the poor boy ... The way he said how he would just sit in his room playing games all day, and that they didn't seem to care ??
Why couldn't the boy tell his father that he wanted to stay in that school? Bad father. Well, I know how it is with males, divorce and children.
The problem is that some children never learn the word NO. I know of a girl that slit her wrists after having her phone confiscated.
Please do not normalise this sociopath's horrific acts.
True that but I think something more was going on here
I loved watching her program back in the days where she helped families to get back on their feets again.
Great show, sad of course! You did a great job hosting this and thank you! Wishing you the very best
I love Jo in this new role. More please 😍
I experienced life around someone similar to this kid. It’s evil and no, they do not change.
So did I. Unfortunately, that person is my brother.
I think this kid would have ended up being a serial killer had he grown up and moved out.
This is what happens when you do not let children know actions have consequences.
How is he supposed to be rehabilitated if there is no education or anything to help him with rehabilitation. He will be a danger if he gets no assistance. He can't do it alone.
I've seen and heard of Children physically harming their own Parents but THIS......... IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
Mum’s boyfriend “Oh he’d be writing stories about kids killing each other on the way to school, drawing pictures of kids stabbing each other, and you’d just think ‘oh, thats kids’”… whaaaat?!

Jo, What a beautiful job you have done on this piece - it seems you can do anything. Great to see you branching out into new experiences. You seem like such a neat lady. Enjoy the ride 🙂
The eyes in the photos of the mother and the son are never smiling.
He's evil. Sad to say. Should remain in prison forever.
I wonder why there have no interviews of this child. Is it by his choice not to speak out about what happened?
That kid has the psychopath smile.
In Australia, children in youth detention attend educational classes.
Ohmy… we wont mention youth detention in Australia 🤫 😱
I am so glad to see Jo forest on the tv again the world needs her
That evil child should’ve gotten 50 years !!!!
