Thanks Mark. I asked because I've been looking at this product for quite a bit, but never saw the back of it and what kind of IN/Outs it had. Makes sense now. I don't care of a few cables in front of me with my Boss GT pedal board. I don't use amps during Live. So I'll just use the Out of the AKG to the pedal board and then normal out from there.
Absolutely. All this does is send the signal. You can send it to a pedal board, an amp, a synthesizer, a mixer; you can even use one to send to your pedal board and then another one to send it to your amp (or mixer) as long as they are different frequencies. If they are both the same frequency, they will interfere with each other. I hope this helps.
Hope you like it as much as I do. I use it in my one car garage to practice. In fact, I set my receiver on top of my Marshall Haze (full stack) and it has fallen off twice (over 4') to hit concrete and it is still working great! Not recommended, but it is nice to know they are built solid. Let me know what you think of it. I'd like to know what others think of it too.
I cannot tell the difference between the wired and the wireless of this unit. It's great! I went outside and managed to get about 100 feet before the sound got choppy (or rather cut in and out). If you want a good signal, I suggest staying closer than 100 feet.
I did two videos on the AKG WMS 40 PRO Mini and on one of them I did an actual demonstration showing the range. When I measured it off I managed to get to about 100 feet. Hope that helps... Oh and mine is still working GREAT!!! I should buy another one and sit on it in case this one ever dies on me.
You can get a leather strap at any musical supply house such as American Musical Supply or Musician's Friend or any of many and this particular model has it's own clip that attaches it right to your strap. You don't need a holder.
I would. Don't let the low price fool you. I use rechargeable batteries so that I always have a fresh charge, in fact, that is how they could improve on this design, have an internal battery that you plug into the receiver (since it's already plugged into the wall). But they you're talking more money. My receiver has hit the floor twice from a 4 foot drop. Each time I thought it was toast, but it is still working fine. I would buy it again if mine broke. I love the freedom it provides!
It depends on whether you want to go wireless from your guitar to your pedal-board, or if you want to go wireless from your pedal-board to your amp. In fact, you could use two with different frequencies and use one for each. I am usually close to my pedal, so I would wire that connection and use the wireless from my pedal out to the amp. If I was playing live and using a pedal-board, I would probably spring for two units of different frequencies and go completely wireless. Freedom comes at a cost, and for me, ... Freedom is worth a few extra dollars. Hope that helps...
yes you use a cable to connect to your amp. The only thing that is wireless is from your guitar to your receiver. Thanks for your question and I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, mark
Sorry,I just assumed you might have watched my other video. It answers your questions: "AKG WMS 40 PRO mini Review" You can go 100 feet before losing a signal and I couldn't tell the difference between wired and wireless. I LOVE mine and it's still working great!
You are correct, but they have 3 models of this unit (A, B, & C). All have a different frequency, so if 2 of you are going to be using them (or 3 of you), you should have different frequency bands and then you won't have that problem.
No I haven't, but then, I don't have an acoustic electric to try it on. Perhaps you will and let me know how it goes. I can't imagine it having any more trouble than without the pro mini. After all, it's just a send and receive operation. It doesn't amplify the sound. Take care and have fun!!!
You can plug the receiver into any device that has a 1/4 jack. Mixers will work with it. I get an effective range of 50 feet, not 100 feet. With walls or objects in the way, it drops.
You can run it from guitar to a pedalboard with no interference or feedback? my doubt surges cause in the webpage says it's gotta be 3-5meters minimum distance between the receiver and the transmitter
Just wondering, not sure if you've done a review on it or not but whether is it possible to plug it in directly to a mixer instead of plugging it in into an amp? Thanks =)
Yes you can. You can use it in place of a cord anywhere you use a cord. For instance, if you have two of them with different frequencies, you can use one to link your guitar to your pedal board and another one to link your pedal board to your amp. Just think of it as a cord and use your imagination.
I can only assume that you got a defective unit. If I were you, I would take it back and exchange it for another one. I have never had that issue with mine. It is still working Great!
Mine still works well. It seems like it goes through batteries a little faster though, but it still sounds great! I didn't expect it to last this long. I even use it to record my music on sound-cloud. If you want to give it a listen look up route 249 on sound-cloud.
So, if we me, the other guitarist and the bass player want to go wireless we need to buy the same Akg wireless but each one of us has to choose a different model of the same product that has the same feauteres, but a different freq?
The WMS40 Mini system’s new frequency options include US25A 537.500 MHz, US25B 537.900 MHz, US25C 539.300 MHz, US25D 540.400 MHz. They also have a dual band unit that has either band A & C, or band B & D. It is the same unit, but in order to not conflict with eachother's signal you would have to all have different frequencies. Anyways, it is the same unit, same product, just a different band width, which is a different frequency. If you need any further help, just let me know...
The one I have reaches out about 100 feet before cutting in and out, see my video ua-cam.com/video/2NfPyOVo-kg/v-deo.html. So, that makes it a little over 30 meters.
Yes you can do that as well. I didn't have the correct plugs but I made it work with stereo plugs. The small problem you have is the transmitter is made to plug into a guitar, so it has a male 1/4" mono plug. I am not sure what type of a plug your lavalier has. My microphone had a male 1/4" mono plug also. I had to find a female to female plug to make it work. The only one I had on hand was a 3.5 and I only had stereo plugs to plug into that to step it up to a 1/4" plug but it worked. I could hear myself talking. What you can get is a female 1/4" mono to (what ever type of plug your lavalier needs to plug in to) and then you're good to go. I hope this helps you out. If you need any further explanation, just let me know...
Hi Mark, thank you very much for your reply. I'm working with live streaming and I need a good quality microphone with a portable construction. How far does it reach? On product specs we have about 20meters. Is it real? My scenario is approximately 25m between the transmitter and receiver and the audience between them. Can I have a reliable and clean signal?
My review of this product is here: "ua-cam.com/video/2NfPyOVo-kg/v-deo.html" It actually shows you how far you can go. I would say closer to 30 meters. Once you get out beyond 100 feet mine became choppy with the signal cutting in and out until at 40 meters it just stopped working. I have had mine for almost 6 years and it still works. I take care of it and I don't throw it around, so for less than $100.00 I'd say I got my money's worth out of it... As far as a clean signal, well I only use it for guitar, so I cannot say what it sounds like for vocals, but as far as I can tell, my clean channels remain clean and my distortion sounds like it should. They do have a version of this unit for vocals, but it comes with a microphone already installed with the transmitter. You couldn't use a lavalier with it... Well I hope my video helps you out & good luck!
+ANIL ALUKKAL Yes, You send a signal, that's all. You could use one to go to an effects rack and one to your amp. or you could get two with the same frequency and send one signal to two amps. And it will work on any instrument.
Obrigado
It has one fixed frequency, you cannot change it. There are, however, three different models (A, B, & C) and they all have a different frequency so that they don't interfere with each other.

So what if you have a pedal board with Guit IN...and the Pedal OUT ? How would you set it up ?

Yes, I have used a bass through mine. Keyboards, synthesizer, anything that you can plug a 1/4" jack into.
Sorry,I just assumed you might have watched my other video. It answers your questions: "AKG WMS 40 PRO mini Review"
You can go 100 feet before losing a signal and I couldn't tell the difference between wired and wireless. I LOVE mine and it's still working great!
Yes that is a Marshall Haze 15. i should probably do a review of it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
You are correct, but they have 3 models of this unit (A, B, & C). All have a different frequency, so if 2 of you are going to be using them (or 3 of you), you should have different frequency bands and then you won't have that problem.

Hello, if I buy two of these, they will interfere each other? If the bassist and the guitarrist play at the same time. thanks!!
You can plug the receiver into any device that has a 1/4 jack. Mixers will work with it. I get an effective range of 50 feet, not 100 feet. With walls or objects in the way, it drops.
Ah, just found it! Thanks. Already got mine ordered!
Thanks =)
Do you have to plug a regular cable into the back of it and in the back of the amp or head for it to work. thanks
@mark dennis ,have you tried testing it on an acoustic guitar and whether it causes any feedbacks due to its hollow interior of an acoustic guitar?
actually, you plug into the back of it and the other end plugs into where you would normally plug your guitar/keyboard/mic.
Oh, and I just put up another video using a mixer as a receiving unit. Check it out...
So the wireless doesn't work if the receiver and transmitter are less than 5 metres apart?
Hey, it sounds pretty amazing for the price. Would you recommend it for live gigging in small venues?
how far can you walk with it and still get a good signal? and does it sound better or worse than a normal wired guitar?
i just bought one i tried it out left my bedroom to the living room,,got this hissing static sound,,is there anyway to resolve this?
Yes you can. You can use it in place of a cord anywhere you use a cord. For instance, if you have two of them with different frequencies, you can use one to link your guitar to your pedal board and another one to link your pedal board to your amp. What kind of battery AA or AAA thanks!!
Say man do you hear any hissing, popping or static coming from the unit, or when you take your hands off of the guitar? Is it still holding up well?
Mine still works well. It seems like it goes through batteries a little faster though, but it still sounds great! I didn't expect it to last this long. I even use it to record my music on sound-cloud. If you want to give it a listen look up route 249 on sound-cloud.
can you use it with a pedal board?
is that a marshall haze15?
What is the song at the end?
Whats the range like?
Not so, if you look at my other video on the mini pro application, you will see that it works at less than 5 meters.
So, if we me, the other guitarist and the bass player want to go wireless we need to buy the same Akg wireless but each one of us has to choose a different model of the same product that has the same feauteres, but a different freq?

mark dennis thanks you man! It's all clear now!
mark dennis Last question! What is the range the device offers me? I think it should be at least 20 meters.
The one I have reaches out about 100 feet before cutting in and out, see my video ua-cam.com/video/2NfPyOVo-kg/v-deo.html. So, that makes it a little over 30 meters.
Hey i need one to a bass would it work? becase a bass as a very clean sound, im horry about it :s sorry my bad english lol xD
Is it possible to use with lavalier microphones for voice use?

thank u
+ANIL ALUKKAL Yes, You send a signal, that's all. You could use one to go to an effects rack and one to your amp. or you could get two with the same frequency and send one signal to two amps. And it will work on any instrument.
+mark dennis thanks a lot
+mark dennis is this worth good?
+ANIL ALUKKAL Actually, I bought mine in 2012 and I am still using it today, and I have not had any problems with mine at all.
thats cool :) especially the wireless!

Obrigado
Você é muito bem-vindo! Gostaria de poder ajudar mais.
Was that Highway to Hell what you play little bit?
Yes it was... LOL

Cuz i'm planning to get this as well =)
Yes or it will clip to your pocket, which is where I attach mine.

Out of tunee😲😲... you need to improve your techinic before buy a wireless system..
I never said I was good
