BRILLIANT! Had this unit for years (used for electric bass). Couldn't work out what the crackle was. Mine broke exactly the same as yours. Given the propensity of the stiff antenna to get caught on things and therefore put pressure on the solder join, I've replaced the antenna with a piece of coated wire. Works a treat and is less likely to put pressure on the join. Thanks for this. I nearly threw it out!
THANK YOU! The mic in our Barre studio started acting flaky this week. It turned out to be exactly the failure you show here, and I was able to repair it. I almost can't believe that AKG would attach the antenna like this with zero "pulling" strain relief. I hope the hot melt glue keeps it together for a few years! Thanks again!
Jesus Christ, you’re a life saver. The theatre I’m working at ONLY has these exact, crappy, 10+ year old AKG’s, and the cast is using the whole stock of them. One of the antennae broke off when my sub board op was on the job, and I came back from a weekend to deal with it, smh. Thank you much!!!
I have just the problem of dropout you mention. Thanks very much for the excellent video demonstration. It's given me the knowledge and the confidence to try to mend it.
Greetings from the UK and thank you for this video ace789nj ... very helpful just seeing how to dismantle properly! ... 4 days out of guarantee my antenna fell out, although it's been playing up for a while, I guess while it was working itself loose! The microphone is brilliant but very poor build quality from AKG expecting that antenna not to break after 5 minutes!! I've slapped the glue gun in there also now! ... Fingers crossed for longer survival now!
nice video. Do you know the wire connection in small plag. I bought cheap mic and it doesn't work with AKG I think because of 3 pins but only 2 of them has any connection and one of them hasn't.
Hello, how are you, the mini xlr connector on my transmitter is a little loose, I couldn't identify it in the video, but is it possible to screw it in to secure it again or is the connector just plugged in? I await your response and thank you.
the antenna on my bodypack fell off and can't find it. Could I replace the antenna with generic antenna wire? What length? Thanks for the tutorial!!! The hot glue is a great idea.
brunomoosecharles sorry it took so long to reply, haven’t signed on for a while. Any small length of wire would work, as long as it’s rigid enough. I would look for something that has thick insulation (relative to the wire gauge). if you have the old mast, you can use that as a guide for antenna length.
I am having trouble with my receiver. I have connected it like I always have and now it is showing an E in the window for the channel. My RF and CLIP lights are not on either. HELP me please.
@@ace789njHave you tried rechargeable AA batteries with this unit? I've tried different makes and none seem to work. It always displays low battery and cuts out after less than half an hour.

Great video but what's this "sodor" you talk about? Is it like solder? ;)
Yeah that was hurting. 😂
But true, good video otherwise.

are you still using this wireless? how about you with their sound quality and feel for guitar? same as cable?

Дякую!
Excellent thanks!
Hu, how much does a battery last with that system?
Teaching three classes a week, I swap batteries about once every three months.
