I was born in Roger's era so he'll always be my Bond. You just don't get that sense of wonder in the franchise anymore. That entire scene of the Lotus transforming and approaching Strombergs lair underwater is captivating. The score to it aswell is just awesome. 70's Bond ruled and so did it's villains.
One of the best car chase scenes in any movie, first a bike then a car then a chopper then it changes in to a cool sub and you battle divers and minisubs THEN you drive out of the sea onto a packed beach...looking as cool and sophisticated as only Roger Moore could...BRILLIANT
My dad was lucky enough to see 3 Lotus and several Kawasaki 900 parked at the Hotel Capo Caccia in Alghero (where the bike chase part takes place) in 1976-ish.
Did you catch the look that Amasova gives Bond after he smiles at the helicopter pilot? " Really? You're flirting with her when she's trying to kill us"
When the lotus comes out of the sea onto a packed beach, as a then eight year old kid watching with my late dad in the theatre, there's nothing cooler....p.s the toddler on the beach pointing at the car was Richard (Jaws) Kiel's son
The real pilot was a guy called Marc Wolf, took me up in a helicopter as wee lad in Scotland. Was a bit scared 😱. Just before this film was out, but no fancy flying 😅
SpendingTimeTogether I’ll make sure to keep it safe. I also have Hot Wheels of Bond’s traditional DB5, this Toyota convertible that was in another Bond film (For Your Eyes Only, maybe?) and the Aston Martin DB10 from Spectre.
SpendingTimeTogether So true. When I was little, I loved Matchbox cars and Hot Wheels. I still have a big cardboard box full of them in my room. One of them is this green Jaguar convertible like the one from Die Another Day, but it isn’t actually a James Bond edition car.
The Ocelot Stromberg weaponized vehicle from GTA5 Online was kinda formed from the main antagonist, Karl Stromberg. Now, I see why the vehicle has a resemblance of James Bond car.
If you sit in rollercoaster, OR strapped to a bunji rope you know what's going to happen....perhaps she felt the same.....besides i think it was for the cinema audience benefit
I find it frankly hilarious that from the reports of No Time To Die how the same people at EON made this movie over 40 years ago are now about to release a movie that will probably be the last produced by MGM/UA and if they do come back will be a product of Amazon Prime as everything we know about the new film is bond is basically the but of all the jokes much like Red Guardian in Black widow and will probably die to score woke points but if Spectre is anything to go by it'll bomb as this movie has had more pauses for release then the 1997 Avengers movie which was also a massive bomb.

Back when Bond films were fun. This one was my fave as a kid and I still love it.
In my opinion the car used in this movie is by far the neatest, coolest, and sportiest of all the Bond cars till this date.
@jason machete
I agree. The Lotus Esprit is such a modern classic..truly sporty and easy on the eyes..one of my favorite cars too.
Coolest Bond vehicle since the Goldfinger Bond car.
I had a white tr7 because I couldn't afford a lotus it had wolfrace wheels similar to bonds lotus I loved it ,it was my bond car 🤣

3:11 love the look Jaws gives the guy. It’s so like ‘yes, and what??’
Man, this movie has some legitimately great action scenes, this being one of them. Really great cinematography for 1977.
Same year as 'Star Wars' and 'Close Encounters'.
@@larryjex6485 Indeed! An amazing year in cinema
I love how Jaws walks out like he doesn't give any F's
The most iconic Spy Car chases ever made!

Great post, very interesting!
Just to drive out of the ocean on a crowded beach in a Lotus. So cool.
The lady flying the helicopter was our neighbour in central London in the early 2000s. Very nice person. Always smiling - and still hot!!

My personal favorite James Bond. R.I.P. Roger Moore. 😔 Nobody does it Better...
Very true
Second favourite for me. Connery with always be first. But I did live growing up with moores bond too. Different style but still great films.
@@grantwatson27yearsago14 Same here.
5:51 "Alone at last." In an underwater sub? Talk about a cool date.
Italian stereotype to Jaws: you’ve crashed your car into my house
Jaws: worse than that I’ve left you three corpses to dispose of
Italian guy: hah, that's no problem
The best car chase scene for me, especially with that beautiful Lotus. I wish I kept that toy car from when I was young. Great movie.
I have a Lotus Esprit Hot Wheels. It’s really cool.
@@piercelindenberg6842 Don't ever lose it like me lol.

Fav james bond RIP Rogermoore 🙏😪
I saw Richard Hammond giving a go on driving that car and demonstrate the underwater driving
I remember that the song from the battle scene of "LOTUS Esprit" was more effective on synthesizer bass.

needs a double taking Seagull and slide whistle to really improve the scene!
This is Roger Moore's best Bond movie.
Good car.
7:57 Ah shit, here we go again...
3:50 gets me haha
My first Bond film and my first Bond film car chase, my favourite Bond film and my favourite Bond film car chase
I was sent here by the Tesla Cybertruck reveal
9:15 they weren’t expecting to see the lotus car coming out of the sea
every gta 5 players be like its stromberg
Lotus are one of my favorite cars
How'd that fish get in there?
ตอนพยัคฆ์ร้ายสุดที่รัก..
.ชอบๆครับ
Why the hell hasn't any other Bond movies used an underwater car?
If she stole the blueprints for the car, why was she so scared when Bond drove off the pier..?
Wonkabar 1 Perhaps she didn’t realise it was the sub car at that point
If you sit in rollercoaster, OR strapped to a bunji rope you know what's going to happen....perhaps she felt the same.....besides i think it was for the cinema audience benefit
Blueprints and working model are very different things.
I was about to ask the same question!
Are you really too stupid to work that out yourself?
I love this car because of the stromberg from gta v and because I love lotus
James bond thinks this type of spy action scenes
I like the car though
6:01 love ie
Ocelot stronger sports classic
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
@Ralph Buskey well now you can buy it !! Check out the Tesla CyberTruck !!
