    Amazing tutorial as always.
    As someone who owns a ton of lava lamps, I am very impressed by everything, with some small details that were off:
    1. Almost all tops & bases have a uniform sheen to them, with fingerprints being the only exception (outside of textured caps/bases)
    2. The glass itself should have a little bit of thickness as it, plus the water, have a distortion effect on the wax.
    3. The glass shouldn't have any roughness, unless you want to have cloudy liquid.
    4. The top of the base isn't that much smaller then the bottom, they're almost identical.
    Also, the kind of lava lamp you were making is usually called "Grande" as they're biig.
    Grande - 17" H x 4.5" W x 4.5" D
    Tall - 16.3"H X 6"L X 6"W
    Standard - 14.5" H x 3.9" W x 3.9" D
    Hope this helps and I hope to find this for cycles at some point

    I want to make some simple animations as backgrounds for my videos. Being able to do this in eevee just makes it quicker for me

    Amazing. I'm currently looking for Eevee tutorials, and yours comes at the right time. Since my hardware is not yet powerful enough and working in Cycles can be frustrating at times, I am currently grateful for Eevee tutorials. Thank you 😀

    Hey Ryan! Is there a way to make the lava lamp effect more random? Maybe by using force fields and collisions?

    That render time looks pretty long at 1000 PNG images, in the Output properties, if I untick Image Sequence Overwrite will it continue from where it was last, so I don't have to start at frame 1 again?

    Can't we use Collision and fluid stuff to make it more random and smooth ?

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  6 місяців тому

      that may be another way to make it, but its not how I decided to make it.

    I'm having trouble at 26:01
    when i select one metaball to move, it selects them all and will not let me move anything..
    i don't understand why its not letting me select just the one metaball to move around
    any ideas?
    thank you

    Thanks for the tutorial!
    But i must say... why are metaballs so glitched? Hours of headache and wasted renders, with issues like not merging with each other or them simply vanishing.
    Only to discover that it happens if you rename them.... so silly.

    • @RyanKingArt
      @RyanKingArt  6 місяців тому +1

      Ahh yeah if you re-name them it can mess things up.
