Norton was an under-rated talent. Still is to this day. He was huge in Japan. In the US, not so much.
Bagwell and Norton were an excellent tag team for a while too
@@sammmm87 Vicious & Delicious is still one of my favorite team names ever.
I can't agree more.
He was the IWJP Heavyweight Champ!
Nash definitely needs to guest on Viking shows and movies.
Remember when Michael Wallstreet couldn't join nWo because he was under "contract" for WCW....so he wore an anti WCW slash red deal like Ghostbusters??? Good times i loved IRS!!!
Virgil's entire career was built on a rib. 😆
I remember him in memphis as Soul Train Jones!
"The only place they aren't is on the royalty checks" you nailed it Kev! They need to pay you guys what you are due!
I remember watching the night Dusty Rhodes turned and became a NWO member. It didn't make sense to me as a teen , and never has. That was when I stopped flipping the channels. I was waiting on the whole locker room to come out with NWO shirts on.
Bret Hart later on was even worse
Buff was a solid nWo guy too
As much as I dislike him personally, I agree.
Yes but it was supposed to be WWE taking over it shouldn't have been people that never worked for WWE
Bagwell and Norton were a great team for the NWO. They felt like a new age Power and Glory with Roma and Hercules.
He was but he was only ever a midcarder. That push sucked.
@@rc8657but they are trying to take over. So you need converts/benadict arnolds otherwise the group will be tiny
To me the being a great NWO member did not mean that you had to be a main event guy. To me, Vincent worked in the NWO in the first year and a half. It’s kind of like the mafia you’ve got the boss, the under Boss, the captains, and the soldiers. Vincent was a good soldier.
For me the key and WO guys were Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx, Macho Man, Giant, Ted DiBiase, Vincent, nWo Sting, Buff Bagwell, Curt Hennig, Scott Norton, K-Dogg, Muta and Eric Bischoff. And then, of course, Nick Patrick as the referee and the celebrities that actually did something that shock people like Dennis Rodman, and Kyle petty, not the dinner in the movie guys who were there for one night lol
But to me, Vincent was a better fit as a soldier than Bret, Hart, Stevie, Ray, Bryan Adams, and Scott Steiner. Yes, those guys are All-Stars, some of them, bigger stores than others, but they really didn’t add anything to the group. I thought breaking up the Steiner brothers and Harlem heat and putting one brother each in the NWO was a stupid idea .
soldier? He was the nighly sacrificial lamb they never cared about.
That group u listed was perfect it should have been left at that but they should have left Hennig as a horseman definitely would have been better for him career wise.
To me they just to many members!!!! 6-8 guys would have been good, but everyone cant be a member!!!!🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
You Left one guy out Papa Pump Scott Steiner he was awesome perfect for the group
Steiner and Rude were perfect for NWO. DiBiase and Giant were nowhere near as important to the group as those 2.
Wow, you guys finally decided to talk about wrestling. How refreshing.
It should've been all ex-WWF stars like it started. Nwo taking over WCW, thats when it was great.EDIT: im near the end and Kevin says what I wrote basically in defense of Virgil staying.
it got big way too fast. Hall, Nash, Hogan, Giant, Kid, Dibiasi as the manager....after that some were good pulls, but Rick Rude? He couldnt wrestle. Perfect joining and then turning on the Horsemen was good, but a Horsemen of Flair, Perfect, Benoit, and get rid of Mongo (he always sucked) and some other addition as a big man with Arn as the Manager works. They dragged on the sting crow thng too long and then it had a bad payoff. That was a problem even before the ratings dropped...they had great build up then seemed reluctant to stick the landing on anything.
@@Bigbudd0045💯
@@Bigbudd0045man Curt was horrible in the nWo as great as he was as a singles wrestler.
I never had a problem with Virgil as the NWO's lacky as he had a connection with Ted Dibiase in the WWF. Like Kev said, the optive worked. Marcus Bagwell and Scott Steiner were two members who at the time they joined the faction might of seemed like an odd choice, but joining morphed them into Buff Daddy and Big Poppa Pump which were two gimmicks that perfectly in the brash, cocky NWO.
Yea. I agree. I enjoyed the wolfpac angle for a bit but then when it became the Nwo elite with hogan with the red and black. That’s actually when I stopped watching wrestling
Fun Fact: Triple H & X-Pac vetoed a potential DX member: Test. They were offended because Vince Russo said "He's like Kevin Nash, but younger". Talk about not being able to read the room...
Bonus Edit: Triple H also vetoed Val Venis as a potential DX member.
Refreshing to run across someone in comments that actually knows their shit for once 💯… I heard the same thing directly from the mouth “pause” of Vince Russo 🤣😭
@@Cobane823 Thanks, bro. 👊
I remember him debuting, doing a run in on RAW and standing in the ring with DX….
Then the next week it wasn’t even mentioned again.
@@troopz24seven Yep, that's what happened: The kliq had #stroke . 💯
Stevie Richards was considered as a member in fall 99 when DX reformed as heels as well. He's confirmed it in shoot interviews that it was mentioned to him, but ended up not happening. (He also said he's completely aware he'd have been getting added to be the guy who takes pins or being beaten up by babyfaces, not as a major push.)
That's a fantastic shirt Mr Oliver. I love this podcast even more now
🤮
I'm unsubscribing because of that shirt 😂
Sign on, sign on with a pen in your hand
UP THE REDS!!!!
Didn’t take Sean as a LFC supporter. YNWA
Loved Stevie Ray in the nWo. It's a shame he wasn't elevated more within the faction.
Wasn't he booked in the War Games of that year? It was horrible. Stevie Ray could never get over as a singles star.
He did not belong
Lol he was the leader of the nwo at one point, how much higher you want him to be?
@@andrewmoore7927ok aNdReW
4:28 I've heard Nash say on THIS SHOW (not this episode) that the nWo were "guys that were treated badly by WCW before (are back for revenge) and it was never about the world wrestling federation taking over" I love how he contradicts himself so much lol
Nash is a habitual liar
Liabetic needs to check his blood sugar 4 times per day.....
You're wrong
The nWo was about Nash and Hall taking over from the WWF, but the people who joined afterwards were guys who felt they hadn't had the respect from WCW they should have despite spending their whole careers there (Steiner and Bagwell being perfect examples)
It was about one thing that later turned into another thing, not as black and white as you're painting it
Ron Hextall is the goalie
Curt should have been kept with the horsemen.
oh yes, the nwo needed a strong counterpart at the time.
It would have made them look more impressive as a group in some of the places WCW was going to around this time, namely in the northeast and going into a lot of the places Vince and his dad before him used extensively for tapings and house shows, and where the NWO would get larger pops then anyone else.
100% this. Curt should have come in on the fence. Drama built up on which side would he choose. Make it look like he’s leaning towards the nWo the whole time, then wham. Finally WCW hits the nWo where it counts. They get a guy who could help turn the tide. Granted, Curt was a shell of his former self by that time.
What for? Horsemen were out.
I never had a problem bringing in Mable as the 3rd guy.
Corporate-Ministry members:VKM,Shane,Patterson,Brisco,Slaughter,Bossman,3 members of the mean street posse,Shamrock, Rock, Bigshow, Triple H, Kane, Chyna, Test, Christian, Edge, Gangrel, Taker, Viscera, Mideon, JBL, Simmons. 24 Members. Who ever says they had too many members?! There is a clear bias against WCW in wrestling fandom.
Im glad he mentioned Bagwell and Steiner cuz in my opinion, those 2, Konan and Macho shouldve been in the HOF with them.. lowkey Stevie Ray too tho lol
My fantasy booking for 98 (which would have been tricky to pull off with Scott’s problems) would have been Hogan, Hall, and Nash turning face against the other members and then you get another heel run out of just the 3 of them after that. Instead of adding more and more members and splitting into the Wolfpac
I love it.
Never knew Sean was a Liverpool fan 👍🏼
#YNWA
UP THE REDS!
Was Ron Hextall that scored 2 goals vs Washington and Boston
Just think if you bothered to type that into Google
I think the first 6 were great! I think everyone who came after, though may have worked or didn't, probably should have been a thought out process due to thinking things could mess up
I liked Steiner, Buff, Flash, Perfect in NWO
Steiner, Buff, Konnan, Norton were good choices that fit their roles
Damn never thought I hear a vampire diaries aside from Nash. 😂 keep it up
Disco got in,they weren’t picky
Totally off subject here Kevin but can you elaborate, tell me why NOBODY showed up for Mean Gene Okerlund's funeral? When I heard DDP talk about this, it made me sad and mad at the same time. Just a disgrace he didnt have people there to pay their respects to an ICON of WWF/WWE and also from all accounts I heard , a good man who was liked by most.
I keep also seeing that DDP thumbnail pop-up on my UA-cam timeline. Nobody from wrestling or worked with him showed up? No Vince McMahon? No Hulk Hogan?
Not everyone views no showing a funeral a sign of disrespect and have other ways of honoring them. Like you said he was well liked so I'm sure there are reasons that we don't know about.
You don't know what people had going on. Guy's live all over the country & probably hadn't spoken to Gene in years.
I'm sure they were all going to go but they were "busy"
@Kevinnash if you get chance 13th Warrior is a wonderful film. Didn't make any money at the time but a cult classic.
Thanks, Kid. I will.
Banger, plus Jerry Goldsmith score 💪🏻🤟🏻
Yeah watched that in school, it's like a modern retelling of Beowulf.
You kept Virgil around for pick up Basketball. He's your 1st pick every time!
The nWO was toast once they added all the D list guys like Rotunda and Adams and Bubba and Vincent, etc.
They ruined it when they Made a NWO BLK and red wolfpack hate that it was a huge mistake trying to make them good guy's That was a dumb idea
Vincent was super early anything after macho man joined was over kill
in my opinion one of the most important and most loyal most forgotten members on the nW0 was scott norton why no body mention him is beyond me he is more deserving of nwo Hof than xpac also buff more deserving than xpac
More deserving than X no way. Shawn was one of the top 6 or 7 I believe that joined I think after fake NWO sting. Shawn was a damn good wrestler in WWE and in WCW. Shawn was also in DX so he must have been damn good at what he did in the ring. Norton was good but no where near the level xpac was. Norton was the muscle really.
I appreciate Nash breaking it down cuz He's right. Dibiase just came from wwf, having the "corporation." Tatanka & Luger 1 turned to $man.
Had no idea Sean was a Liverpool fan!
I’ve seen him wearing the Kit before in a different Episode.
UP THE REDS!
Looking back now, I think the nWo should have only ever been kept to 4 members, 5 at the most.
Hogan, Nash, Hall, Waltman
Hogan Nash, Hall, Waltman, Giant
Hogan, Nash, Hall, Waltman, Steiner
5 members aren't taking over an entire company. It was fine getting larger. It just got silly when you had all the factions coming out like NWO black and white, and NWO Wolfpac, etc. There should have been an end to the NWO too after Sting won the title from Hogan at the end of the 97 , the NWO should have been disbanded in 98.
Nah. 22 or 23 members is about right.
Dx should have just been Shawn and Chyna
Things were never the same with the NWO when buff got kicked out
I don't understand how Steiner had the power to kick him
@2:46 "Last Kingdom"
Might not affect the paycheck at that time, but in 1-2 years when the product is trash, there won’t be a paycheck at all.
Outsiders for life
They almost had it right with all the Ex WWE. Rotunda with the connection with Dibiase was another one. But once DiBiase left he didn't make much sense on his own. They did get it right with alot of the ex wwe guys Bryan Adams, Big Bossman, Rude, Henning, Virgil, coulda went further with Haku, Barbarian, Tenta but those were smart passes.
Should have added debuted Rick Martel as a hand-picked opponent for Bret Hart
The big man still has great hair
IMHO: This should have been the NWO(using 1998-1999)
Elite:
Hollywood Hogan
Scott Steiner
Kevin Nash(Tag Team with Hall)
Scott Hall(Tag Team with Nash)
Lex Luger
Syxx(Cruiserweight Division only)
Mid:
Scott Norton(Tag team with Buff Bagwell)
Buff(Tag team with Scott Norton)
Brian Adams
Stevie Ray
Konan
Lower:
Vincent
Disco Inferno
The Disciple
Horace
Is Sean always wearing a Liverpool Jersey?
Konan was fire
Yes!
I loved the nwo wolfpac and he always came out and got the crowd pumped , I always thought he was a solid wrestler
Kev is always thinking about his pockets
I really wanted to see wolfpac Sting get a word title run
Ever noticed how big Kev really never answers a question, always just dances around the answer....
To me the nWo was Hogan hall nash syxx kdogg big poppa pump and buff
Norton as well 💪🏼
@@troopz24seven yeah I don't know why I forgot him also to some extent muta.
@@troopz24sevenhe was legit no doubt but zero personality...ugh
Norton was a bad ass in real life, sort of bloke you want watching your back….
Plus I always thought his tag team with Buff had some potential 👍🏼
@@troopz24seven yeah vicious and delicious

Yes Liverpool fan lesss gooo

For me it was always sean, Scott n Kevin. Hulk was always just a hanger on to me, like a vampire he just wanted to feed off of how hot those guys were
Yea but like kev said its just worked when u kept him like the godfather, untouchable king that couldnt be got too
And Bischoff!!!
Hes talking about The Last Kingdom
Love the fact Sean is a red! Get in, ynwa
They didn't need any other members after Syxx
Disco was a solid NWO guy too.. nothing? 😅
He was good in the wolfpac
I loved this show till i saw the Liverpool jersey lol
NWO4Life
Vincent, Norton, Horace Hogan also Jeff Jarrett in 2000...
All NWO 4 LIFE!
Who was not...
How can I watch this live
Giant was 1st downhill
Was no good guys. Everyone was Nwo. Should of kept Macho out of it. Jeff Jarrett. Steiners
You and lugar kicked konnan out of the 🐺 pac
Horace, Brian Adams, Wallstreet, Big Bubba, Harris Bros., Jarrett were some of the dirt worst members
I guess Nash forgot about the Nasty Boys. Or purposely chose not to mention anything about that.
I see Nash's point , i originally thought there was tomany membwrs but i onlly focused my attention on the ones i liked.
They should of voted only 5 nwo members instead of the whole WCW lockeroom that was the end of the nwo getting more members
Nash kicked Konnan out of the NWO 😅
Liverpool FC !!
UP THE REDS!!!!!!
Who would have ever thought Kevin Nash would be a "Woke Liberal?"
Is nash a DOJ nominee?
Why can’t he just say THE GIANT?
Unless he’s defending brian Adam’s for some reason.
Sean got some color?
Waltman, Bagwell, Giant, Savage, Steiner, Vincent, Norton, Konnan, Fake Sting and Horace were good. Stevie Ray, Hennig, Adams, Chono, Muta, IRS, Bubba, Rude, Dusty, Dibiase etc. those guys were miscast
Horace 😂
Dibiase made sense at the time. Being the financier of the group/faction.
I never thought Savage was a good fit for a faction because he was always best on his own and I hated how he turned on sting.
@@troopz24seven the NWO job guys weren't bad (Discple,Fake Sting, Vincent, Horace) they were solid minions
@@BigBadJerryRogers Savage was the only one who was able to actually wrestle singles matches
They should have vetoed everyone but Konan, scott, and maybe buff.
Ahh u did look like a viking back in the day. You could have played the greatest BARBARIAN VIKING OF ALL TIME!
Yes! And then joining the Dungeon of Doom! Missed Opportunity... 😞
He was Odin in a Sci Fi movie so it fits
Horace was horrible!
Obviously not if Disco Inferno got in. 😅😅😅
Lame, Disco Inferno was an excellent lackey character for the group.
By the time Disco joined, the whole nWo angle had been around for 3 years. They split between nWo Hollywood and Wolfpac, then regrouped with nWo Ellite. It had became a watered down joke by that point. Not to say I don't love Disco. He actually was better than most jabronis they put in.
He should have vetoed Sean Waldman...they should have kept it Hall, Nash, Hogan and the Giant.
Nash just saw it as the hottest work ever, im str8 just cut the check 😆
He knows it got washed out. You can't run with a 60 member faction. Seems like he could care less about what he's talking about
It should have been just WWE guys in my opinion
Ive always believed not every guy who came from wwf shouldve been nwo. Yeah you need lower tier guys but everyone was in it by the time it was done. IrS for godsake
the nwo had more members than earth wind and fire 🤣
I’m sorry it should of been hall, Nash, hogan , and maybe the giant but that’s it once all the other men were came it was to much
NWO was the best thing that ever happened in wrestling history. It was hilarious when the NWO had 15 guys and wwes ratings were non existent.
Giant, Bryan Adams, Stevie Ray, Luger, Sting, Horace Hogan, and anyone else from nWo 2000 did not belong in nWo.
Did the fella just bring up Molly Hatchet?!?! That's cool man. I stopped liking them when the original Era guys all left
Jeff Jarrett ruined it.
Liverpool top😂
Liverpool 🤢🤢🤮
Team not city or people.
When was the last time your team Won the League?
Nash is the worst liar
Is it just me or does Sean Oliver just seems to ramble and stumble around questions and never actually allows Nash to answer them?🤔
I'm so tired of these clips being titled something that they only really talk about for 10 seconds. Im done
...the nwo was only good when it was just Nash, Hall & Hogan. Every time they added a new member the magic slipped further and further away.
Sean Waltman is the absolute worst addition to any faction. He will always be the 1-2-3 Kid to me. Completely useless and undeserving of any accolades. Why they kept his sorry ass around always baffled me.
Wrong Vincel. The NWO was amazing and the best angle in wrestling history.
YNWA
"Kevin and his crew grabbed the wrestling business by the sack in the 90s and never let go..." sounds gay
