So Etho’s the type of dad who calls taking care of his kids “babysitting”. Really giving off that absent father energy. This is my favourite storyline I love it so much.
that was a GREAT moment but IMO the best was early in the first series after i think renchanting set grian and scar's tree on fire and then ran off chanting "fantastico and away we go!" then there was absolute silence... scar turns to grian, his face full of childlike joy and happiness. tree ENGULFED FULLY, RAGING combustion, on the other side of the frame. PERFECT composition. you could use context clues to figure out EVERYTHING that just happened with that one frame. it was beautiful. and he says, "i will murder them 😃" big impish smile so much joy so much happiness all over his beautiful face. i honestly think that was maybe the one moment that solidified the life series' success the most. there were many many excellent moments even in just the first season but i think thats the best. as an aside, scar is by far involved in the most and funniest points in the life series. i dont even think its close TBH.
The best bit, to me, was Cleo's failed prank with the Shrieker leading to Etho catching on that Grian and SG were sneaking into their base. HBO series level writing there.

Everyone’s just seeing gem kill him a bunch of times and dog piling on that idea but gems really good at pvp and beat every other hermit who showed up much more easily than Etho. He also got a couple kills on her despite being clearly outmatched. The big thing I took away from that meetup was just how much Etho beat everyone else who showed up that wasn’t gem. Can’t remember how much gem showed in her video but I saw the full clip of all the fights from xiumas stream and Etho was actually kinda destroying everyone else there who wasn’t gem. Gem also best cub so she’s clearly one of the best pvpers on the server. Etho actually did quite a good job overall but it is definitely funny to keep the washed up joke going after seeing Gem kill him over and over 😂
I love it how Etho used the fishing rod method only to have it backfire with Grian and Joel. Also the fact that Bdubs and Scar blew up but not Etho puts the cherry on top.
After hearing Grian cackle at Etho's description of the game of catch, I just want a supercut of all the other Last Lifers react to watching that scene. This whole episode was perfection.
If I'm not mistaken, what actually triggered the minecarts was that one of them reached terminal velocity then collided, if you play over the footage you can actually hear the rail noise that you only hear when a minecart goes above a certain speed
Oh that is interesting to know! So there is a method to the madness... to me it looked so arbitrary that they went off because they seemed to travel at about the same speed earlier without exploding on contact but I guess it was just the last blockometer per hour that did it.

I loved the entire family supper scene so much, it reminded me a lot of Amphibia's dinner episode with similar awkward silence moments to it. And the playing catch part was absolute gold too.
Cleo is amazing. Especially since she often keeps the non-family-friendly jokes in if they happen. I always run to her videos for the chance those moments might appear 😂

👏🏽Etho, I am super proud of you for sticking it out with Gem even after she got what she came for, a single head for her dungeon. Gem knows her PVP stuff and it was wonderful to see you be able to put your reputation and ego aside to learn from the new kids on the block. Hopefully you do more before Monday. I would highly suggest seeking out False as well. She is fantastic with a bow as well as her dodging ability. If you take them both on at Battle Bane, you’ll learn something. They’ll whip you into shape by for the Monday recording session. Just got to ask. I believe in you! You can let go of old habits and replace them with new pvp techniques! 👍🏽
