You're right. Family comes first. Your daughter is going to continue to need your love, and can be exhausting. I have a daughter with it, and I had a great deal of difficulty with her as a child, but she is the child with the closest relationship with me now. Just love her, avoid comparing her with other kids, and don't ever ask "Why us?" These children (like all children) are amazing in their own way! I wish you well in your journey! Durng a layoff in the early 2000's, the family stresses and unemployment made it difficult to keep the family together, and I got divorced. (I was a big part of the problem with depression and intolerance - mostly not believing in myself after so much time unemployed. Keep your chin up, keep your priorities straight, and draw strength from one another!) This too shall pass.
My prayers go out to you and your family ... I do pray that the Lord will provide what you need in this time and keep you strong ... Sorry to hear about your Dad ... it is very hard to watch anyone near the end of their life. I watched my mother deteriorate and asked her if she wanted to keep fighting and she said that if it came down to doing everything possible to keep her alive that her wishes were to let her go. They call it DNR ( do not resusscitate ). At first I was very sad about it but in the end, it was her life and her decision. I am happy that she did it her way and I can easily live with that for the rest of my life knowing it ended the way she wanted ..... Dear SBI, I hope you and your family doing well. Today, finished the sled for my table saw, first woodwork project since, also, unemployed due to the lockdown. Enjoyed the work and creativity a lot, thanks to your inspirationin shapes and technique! With the equipment I build up during the years I can do a lot more then I imaginedand more precise . Preparing the work is half the work and will result in greater quality, less mistakes and less risks. Hope you can find mental rest in being creative and focused on what hands and mind can achieve.

Your daughter is a very precious thing, Apergers or no Aspergers - I cherish having my Aspie son every day, he is 28, and a pain in the ass sometimes too. Contact you local Autism Advice service, I'm sure there will be one, if you struggle to get relevant information, send me a message and I'll forward you sources that I've used myself. Having the final say over your fathers ultimate end is a burden and a privilege, let your sadness be softened by his faith that you will do what is best for him. Good luck, and keep talking to your wife about this stuff, it's important! Many parents fall into silence when given the AS diagnosis, don't let it happen to you.

Keep safe and look after you family. I'm sure we'll all be here when this crisis ends. I had to do the same for for my father when he got sick. It is a very hard thing to do. The main thought that helped me get through the ordeal was that turning off the machines would mean he would not suffer. It was hard to see the man who had raised me and taught me so much laying in a hospital bed looking so frail and ill. Having him tell me his wishes in advance took the difficult decision away from my family. Whilst agreeing with the doctors that it was time to let him go was incredibly difficult, there was no feeling of guilt. This is what he wanted. Now nearly 15 years later, I miss him but I know he never suffered and I don't worry that I made the wrong choice. I hope your father gets well and lives for many years to come. My son is a special needs child, things are not all bad with AUTISM (Asperger syndrome), things are just different. I found that I hold him to very similar standards as he other two brothers and half siblings. He gets the extras that he needs and I indulge him in a couple areas like he likes minerals/rocks/fossils and bats. I have him work out in the wood shop, he runs a lathe, chop saw, power sander and various power hand/manual hand tools. One thing I will emphasize on is keep that communication line free and open no matter what.....you see I just found out that my son was rape/molested by someone in his mom's house and that person is related to a LAW-ENFORCEMENT OFFICER and they are unwilling to investigate or do anything and Child Protective Services will not do anything either as mom works for the Department of Social Heath Services.
It sounds like you're going through some really tough times but it also sounds like you are doing the very best you can for all of your family through those tough times; keep strong, stay safe and keep going man - you're doing great!

My son is 11 years old with high functioning autism (sometimes called asperger's syndrome), as a baby we noticed differences, we got a diagnosis here in England when he was about 4. It is hard, I won't lie, but get as much support as you can from friends and family, rely on them, use them as much as you can, otherwise you and your wife will suffer too. We both struggle emotionally and have had mental health struggles as a result, (not just my son, but he's been a large part). I like your videoes and channels, keep on going, stay safe and my best wishes to you and all of your family.

So sorry to hear of your troubles, friend. Most of us have similar stories to tell - you are not alone. I am "lucky" in that I managed to retire just before the coronavirus hit and so have a small pension to live on, but I am also "over-qualified" and can't get any kind of job, and this while trapped in a foreign country on the far side of the planet from where I grew up. I can't go home for any reason now, not even to help out my relatives. My parents passed away last year and my handicapped siblings are living on govt handouts. Life has never been more uncertain. However, just know that all crises must end and so will this one. For your family's sake and mine, I pray that this one ends soon.

Hello.... I would like to start off by saying that I hope that your luck has finally changed for the better. I too have been through some rough times. Because of my health problems i lost my job. And whenever i tried to apply for a new job in my line of work. I too would get told thati was over qualified. A nice way of telling me i was too old (44 at the time). But the worse part of all was losing my dear mother in October of 2019. It was such a devestating blow and it has to be worse pain that a person can feel. And since we both lived on different islands, i did not get a chance to say good bye and tell her how much i loved her. As for your channel, I absolutely love watching your videos. I have learned quite a bit just by watching them and listening to you talking and guiding your viewers step by step through each project. To be quite honest, i subscribed just after watching my very first vídeo on your UA-cam channel. The Bench Power Supply. I myself am have recently started building small DIY projects. Which brings me to ask you. Would you be willing to build a case like the one in the video along with all of its accessories and 3D Prints necessary to build a power supply like yours and sell it to me? If so, how much would it cost plus shipping it to me in Portugal? I know it is kind of far. But luckily still in the EU. 😏 I know that this might sound a bit awkward. But please let me explain. I only ask this of you mainly, because of your professionalism and expertice. But also because of my health issues, i have absolutely no way of being able to build one myself. You see, i have cronic kidney disease/failure. And i am currently doing three, four hour, weekly sessions of hemodialysis. Which i have been doing for the past eight years. Because of this i have a prosthesis implanted in each arm which leave me with barely any strength in them. Thus the reason that i can only do small mainly electronic based projects. Just one final note. And if it is not too much trouble. Would it be possible for you to please send me or put the parts list of the components that you used to build the power supply? My son is a special needs child, things are not all bad with AUTISM (Asperger syndrome), things are just different. I found that I hold him to very similar standards as he other two brothers and half siblings. He gets the extras that he needs and I indulge him in a couple areas like he likes minerals/rocks/fossils and bats. I have him work out in the wood shop, he runs a lathe, chop saw, power sander and various power hand/manual hand tools. One thing I will emphasize on is keep that communication line free and open no matter what.....you see I just found out that my son was rape/molested by someone in his mom's house and that person is related to a LAW-ENFORCEMENT OFFICER and they are unwilling to investigate or do anything and Child Protective Services will not do anything either as mom works for the Department of Social Heath Services.

My son is 11 years old with high functioning autism (sometimes called asperger's syndrome), as a baby we noticed differences, we got a diagnosis here in England when he was about 4. It is hard, I won't lie, but get as much support as you can from friends and family, rely on them, use them as much as you can, otherwise you and your wife will suffer too. We both struggle emotionally and have had mental health struggles as a result, (not just my son, but he's been a large part). I like your videoes and channels, keep on going, stay safe and my best wishes to you and all of your family.

So sorry to hear of your troubles, friend. Most of us have similar stories to tell - you are not alone. I am "lucky" in that I managed to retire just before the coronavirus hit and so have a small pension to live on, but I am also "over-qualified" and can't get any kind of job, and this while trapped in a foreign country on the far side of the planet from where I grew up. I can't go home for any reason now, not even to help out my relatives. My parents passed away last year and my handicapped siblings are living on govt handouts. Life has never been more uncertain. However, just know that all crises must end and so will this one. For your family's sake and mine, I pray that this one ends soon.

I am so sorry all these things have happened to you recently. It's not been an easy time for many people throughout the world the past few months. Hopefully we can all realize once and for all that we are all human and neighbors in this world. Geography is our only real difference. I have traveled to Germany, France, Italy, Mexico and Canada and have made friends everywhere I have been. I have a myriad of friends from many shapes, sizes, skin color and religion and all any of them want is to live, have a happy life and take care of their families. We need to focus on that as a human race and not our leaders differences. People are just people no matter where they were born or where they live.

I would like to start off by saying that I hope that your luck has finally changed for the better. I too have been through some rough times. Because of my health problems i lost my job. And whenever i tried to apply for a new job in my line of work. I too would get told thati was over qualified. A nice way of telling me i was too old (44 at the time). But the worse part of all was losing my dear mother in October of 2019. It was such a devestating blow and it has to be worse pain that a person can feel. And since we both lived on different islands, i did not get a chance to say good bye and tell her how much i loved her.
As for your channel, I absolutely love watching your videos. I have learned quite a bit just by watching them and listening to you talking and guiding your viewers step by step through each project.
To be quite honest, i subscribed just after watching my very first vídeo on your UA-cam channel. The Bench Power Supply.
I myself am have recently started building small DIY projects.
Which brings me to ask you. Would you be willing to build a case like the one in the video along with all of its accessories and 3D Prints necessary to build a power supply like yours and sell it to me? If so, how much would it cost plus shipping it to me in Portugal? I know it is kind of far. But luckily still in the EU. 😏
I know that this might sound a bit awkward. But please let me explain.
I only ask this of you mainly, because of your professionalism and expertice. But also because of my health issues, i have absolutely no way of being able to build one myself.
You see, i have cronic kidney disease/failure. And i am currently doing three, four hour, weekly sessions of hemodialysis. Which i have been doing for the past eight years. Because of this i have a prosthesis implanted in each arm which leave me with barely any strength in them. Thus the reason that i can only do small mainly electronic based projects.
Just one final note. And if it is not too much trouble. Would it be possible for you to please send me or put the parts list of the components that you used to build the power supply?
