Great pattern and video. Re the pattern: I like the simplicity and clever use of pheasant. It's also something you can tie up in a few minutes. I'm tying flies right now for 3 people for a week-long trip, so I can't spend 20 minutes per fly :). Also, I love swinging for trout; it allows you to cover water systematically, which is really helpful on slow days or in tough conditions like heavily pressured waters. Re the video: super clear and just the right length.
I have been tying for over 30 years and am new subscriber to your channel, just wanted to say thanks I have stared thinking outside the box with using pheasant for spey etc. I have learned new flies such as the trout taco. Its be eye and mind opening. Thank again.
I have to agree, point down definitely fishes a lot better. I did some serious testing over a couple weeks, and the strike to hook up ratio went way up. I didn't notice anything as far as keeping fish on being different, but missing fewer strikes was more than enough to convince me to change over. They definitely get hung up on the bottom more though.
I totally agree! Thank you so much for checking out my video by the way! It means a lot! I had several days where I went like 1-21, 1-14, 1-17 and so on... so many strikes and no fish stuck, so I decided to go hook down and really haven't looked back :)
Your channel is excellent and this fly has some really good ideas, but May I ask for a lighter color t shirt without the logo? Would make viewing much easier. Thank you!
@@CooperLandingFishingGuide your channel is excellent , it was just a suggestion for the future. I have never watched one of your vids when I didn’t think you are an inventive and excellent tyer.
Thank you everyone for checking this one out! I love tying super easy and durable flies for swinging for trout and dollies up here in Alaska.
yes tank
The first hackle is a pheasant rump feather and you can buy them by the pack dyed in different colors.

Yeah, I made this 4 years ago when my channel first started. I can't change shirts now, but in the future I will take that into consideration.
