@@savagesock8967 factory tuned n/a k series engines are very durable motors, as long as people take care of their engines with regular oil change intervals and what not, they can take it. Same way a stock 2j or ls They may not sound as good as a cross plane crank v8 to me but honda does know how to build an engine.

Of course, that is because the petrol is used to fabricate many of the things we use today, like plastic and others... electrification is a way to save petrol for those industrial processes.. Yes it will be ban, but sadly its necessary.... 😭

It's not timing. It's lift. A million cars have variable valve timing, not many have variable lift. In this car's case, think of it like going from a RV camshaft in an LS v8 that revs to like 4500rpm, then suddenly a pin locks and it shifts over to a c6 z06 cam and revs out to 7k. That's the difference between vtec thats eco minded or vtec that's performance minded. In the performance minded cars, you have a cam profile below 5k that's pretty much your normal 4 cyl. Then above that, the pin locks, shifts to the new cam lobe instead of the old one, and that cam is a nasty 9k rpm screamer. There are TONS more things about this tech i could rant about for hours, like the k20 only opening one intake valve before the vtec cam lobe kicks in to promote swirl, which added almost 50 lb ft of torque to the engine compared to the older honda 4 cylinders down low.

People still think Vtec is some sort of power boost, it’s really not, and honestly vehicle manufacturers have been using variable valve timing and lift control for a very long time, Honda just happened to market their valve timing deal to make it sound special, when it’s really a basic design that even your grandmas station wagon has.
