Top rated plus is not a goal for me. I'll never commit to next day selling. But i do like being top seller. But, sometimes things happen. Like in your case. I follow someone who went below standard because his post office basically lost his day's shipments for a week. Wow, what a blow!

I guess I should call Ebay, I have been at the highest rating for years and I just recently dropped due to shipping issues. Most isn't even me fault. I have been blamed for slow shipping when the items sat in a post office hub too long. Next, an item broken in shipping. I refunded them no problem even though I did nothing wrong. It all added up.
I think you are right. I'd call ebay
I have been selling on eBay for quite honestly most my adult life before there was even electronic paintings and then I went through divorce and open my own account. I will just say that sometimes people are dishonest, and for myself, because shipping is so high, a lot of the time, I just end up refunding and telling them to keep the item.. … you have to weigh out if the money is worth getting negative feedback that will be on your account for a long time for myself. That is absolutely not. I would rather just refund and if it’s a difficult customer after I refined, I block them from my items but out of all of the years I’ve been doing this that hasn’t happened a ton thank goodness
Good point! Luckily I haven't had too many difficult buyers either. :)
We moved a bunch of stuff around and I ended up not being able to find probably three or four items so I had to cancel them that through my seller rating below average and they ended up basically as a punishment charging me a huge percentage extra I didn’t realize at the time that I could call and dispute or asked to get the issues taken off…. When that came off, I was so grateful.

P.S. I am set up for 3 day shipping but always aim for same day or next day shipping. Folks LOVE getting their goods earlier than expected and they leave that comment in my feedback regularly.
