Also, you can’t seem to choose the shirt itself - the quality, how thick it is, different variations for different shirt colors (so you don’t have white text on a light shirt). Sure, you can just not use a color you can’t see the text on, but there’s no option to make a unique design for that color using text you’re able to see. I love that I can do that on Printify.

I had not considered this as an option until now. Me and my wife started creating vinyl shirts in our home on the side a few years ago with a Criket and a good headpress. We recently started getting into DFT and sublimation after buying and modifying printers. We are doing it the hard way and making way less in the process when you consider the time it takes to do it all yourself. We are going to do a 180 and concentrate on marketing instead of making!

You have no business trying to start a business if you can't float a couple of bucks for a sold item for 24 hours! If you list your POD item on Etsy, the customer pays up front. Etsy pays out daily. So unless you have zero dollars in your bank account. You shouldn't have any issue using Printful or Printify.

Thanks for the video! I found out more about Printful today because I like the selection of products and I really want to sell via Amazon (I already have experience with Amazon, including Amazon advertising). Now I saw your video: 1) I don't have a professional Seller Central account, just the free account. 1) I don't have Shopify and don't want to because I have no followers and rely on organic sales. Now I saw your video and you're telling me that I need a Spotify account and a professional Seller Central account (= around $100/month) to sell Printful's products on Amazon?
I just want to double check if the information is still up to date or if I misheard, because the way Printful advertises on their website, everything seems to be free, which doesn't seem to be true. Thanks for an answer. 🙏

Fascinating video and something that I wish I had stumbled across early in my POD journey because I think a common question is how orders are fulfilled. I see a ton of videos about TTShop and other outlets, like Amazon, that don't talk about how orders are fulfilled. Seems like the Shopify route is also confusing for some, especially the POD provider payout window. I think it's assumed that you can create a store, connect Printful or Printify, customer places an order, seller uses that capital to fund the fulfillment while making a small profit after the order is fulfilled. The Passive/Active convo is a really good way of presenting it. It still leaves a few questions about the Shopify/POD provider route and the flow of money when orders are placed. Passive seems like no risk, no money upfront, and active seems like money upfront to pay for the store, pay for Shopify and POD fees, but when an order comes through directly through your Shopify store, payment can be made to the POD provider and the order can be shipped after the payment has been made.

Greg, thanks for all of your information. It has been very helpful. I was planning to start my POD work with Red Bubble but when I looked into the new tier system fees it hardly seems worth it. Not only does no one Shop on Red Bubble (seriously, I'm sure you've never in your life heard of anyone buying from there), but it's hard to not have them disable your listings and accounts. On that site, just about anything gets hit for copyright even if it's wrong.

I would also want to be able to choose qualifying parameters for how, where and materials used in order to fulfill as well as other quality metrics. I have standards, values and a personal relationship to my business... A passive pod doesn't. Hello folks, how to be sure about the garments quality? How can we track if Amazon is going to ship the same blank we set?
For the story, I'm buying clothes from existing brands to check on quality and consistency, sometimes it's very disappointing. Sizes don't match, quality may vary a loooot, packaging and labeling is different, etc.
And are these amazon blank products any good for serious clothes, I mean not the 100gr 5 euro tshirt sold for 30 or 40? They already look cheap on the photo.

I just opened an Etsy shop. I am still slowly learning the ropes. I love the SEO component that passive POD uses.
