I've somehow never seen a raw chicken with the head still on, so when you pulled it out and put it in the pot beak and all, I did the surprised Pikachu face.
I think at least in europe this is very uncommon. But yeah, I was like "uh, with a head?", too, even though it is quite obvious that a "whole chicken" would include head and feet and not our european "upper body chicken" sold as whole chicken.
My family and I have used the Prima Taste kits for years! Try the chili crab kit and the curry chicken kit, those two are my mom's favorites to use. When crab is too much of a hassle to make, she replaces it with prawn instead.
Thank you for the suggestion! I have seen the chili crab kit at my local Asian market, but didn't want to spend $10 to find out it was lousy (plus the cost of the crab). I will try it out.🥰
Its interesting to see chicken being sold like that. I'm sure it's common there, but here in the states we rarely see chicken in it's whole form. Very cool video! Thank you for sharing!
Also in the states, I am used to the neck being in the "gizzard pouch" in the chicken cavity. One time, I prepared a chicken that had the neck attached and tucked in at the bottom. I tugged slowly at the neck, expecting to find the head. Fortunately, the head was removed 😰
In my country it’s pretty common for relatives from countryside to send a whole chicken (by whole I mean still alive and breathing) to other relatives in the city for festivals
@@dabdailyduffycalifornia miss,as in the wife/girlfriend. And it's good they post so much,I love their videos alot, and they give me a chance to watch stuff I'll probably never eat.
Thank you for posting. I just found your channel and have been binge watching so many of your videos. You are so upbeat, positive, and kind; even when you don’t like something you simply say it’s not your taste. You’d be so much fun to go on adventures with.
Your kitchen must have smelled absolutely amazing after all that effort! Hainanese chicken rice is something I think I'd like to learn how to make from scratch, I think.
Jamás en toda mi vida había visto un pollo empacando con la cabeza, usualmente les quitan la cabeza y el cuello porque son piezas que nadie quiere. Honestamente que paciencia para hacer está receta, gracias por el esfuerzo ❤
I have never understood why people remove the inner seeds from cucumbers! They are literally the tastiest part of the vegetable. Sweet, juicy, savory and delicious! 👌😍
Just made a sandwich so I went to pull up your channel to watch a video and you literally uploaded as I was making my food!! Amazing timing. Thank you for uploading, I enjoy my lunch a lot more with your vids :]!
Looks good. Essentially what the kit is providing is all the sauces and spices. If you were going to make it often it may be cheaper to purchase larger containers of key ingredients.
i really want to try this kind of packet food kit but my mother will said," why buy it when you have me to cook??" and as always, her food is delicious of course! anyway, love your video😆
Have your mother teach you to cook it. You will learn something fun and useful and get to spend the day with your mother. Many years from now it will be a priceless memory. 🥰🥰
Definitely felt the excitement of Mrs Bacons getting the pretty rice presentation perfect. You go girl! Still hoping for the excitement of a subscription box in the future please 🙏. I feel like I can really trust your food recommendations.
black pepper is spicy for people who have sensitive tongue, I like spice, but if you add to much it gets cumbersome to eat and kills taste of other ingredients
@@NachozMan I have tried that.... its not as spicy as I imagined... like it made my mouth numb and my ears were hot and stuff but it didn't hurt my stomach... its a different spice experience 😭😭
in Canada our chickens don't look like that you the body that is cleaned out and you get the wings and the legs. I like this video very much it was an education to me please do more like this
Please thanks Mrs Bacon for the work that she did in this video. In the west we dont get the heads and the feet, so that is a bit of a shock! as always thankyou for sharing!
I miss eating Hainanese Chicken Rice 🍚 I haven't had them in a long time but maybe after my second vaccination, I'll order it because I'm probably gonna be sick afterwards, not being able to cook anything 🙃
I've somehow never seen a raw chicken with the head still on, so when you pulled it out and put it in the pot beak and all, I did the surprised Pikachu face.
Literally same. I saw that and did the ☹ face and laughed
They weren't joking when they said whole chicken.
@murcielago9999 Nobody was being disrespectful.
I think at least in europe this is very uncommon. But yeah, I was like "uh, with a head?", too, even though it is quite obvious that a "whole chicken" would include head and feet and not our european "upper body chicken" sold as whole chicken.
That head and neck whack reminded me of the "Chinese turkey" from A Christmas Story
My family and I have used the Prima Taste kits for years! Try the chili crab kit and the curry chicken kit, those two are my mom's favorites to use. When crab is too much of a hassle to make, she replaces it with prawn instead.
Do you ever replace the chicken with goose?

@@nopenope7088 nope! We actually rarely eat goose unless it’s roasted, Hong Kong style
@@ourgorlsfavoriteorangechic2711 no problem! Try it with prawn and toast some garlic bread or a baguette to dip with the sauce, it tastes so good
Finally...A dish that is actually available near my home!
Omg I almost choked when I saw the head still on the chicken lol Here in Australia we don't leave the heads on lol
off with the head
Here in Australia we've been under lockdown for so long we don't know what to think!
Neither in America
Welcome to asia. We always leave the head on while cook.only cut it off when we eat
Tsuyuuki Kurenai We don't do that in the Philippines though. I've never seen anyone selling whole chicken with the heads.
Its interesting to see chicken being sold like that. I'm sure it's common there, but here in the states we rarely see chicken in it's whole form. Very cool video! Thank you for sharing!
Yeah its quite common in Asian countries especially if you go to the morning markets. The only problem to me its that there is a lot of blood.
Also in the states, I am used to the neck being in the "gizzard pouch" in the chicken cavity. One time, I prepared a chicken that had the neck attached and tucked in at the bottom. I tugged slowly at the neck, expecting to find the head. Fortunately, the head was removed 😰
The factory stole the feet and heads to use in canned and boxed broth. That's what they're good for.
It’s very common in asian countries, family ate a whole one a while ago
In my country it’s pretty common for relatives from countryside to send a whole chicken (by whole I mean still alive and breathing) to other relatives in the city for festivals

Watching these at night are always the best!
That was a fun video!!! You should do more like these where you take one long cook kit and cook 'em.
This seems more like a pain-in-the-arse kit to me.
Noping before purchase, as you have so wisely done before!
good for a once in a while treat, but perhaps too much for day to day meals. Something a little nicer when friends or family visit
If you were to do this normally it'll include at lot more steps, you know like, actual cooking. Its not really a pain in the arse, it saves time
It’s not really pain in the ass if you feel like doing something productive in a boring day

I love the little "yaaaah" when the rice came out perfectly
You always post at the best time!! So relaxing before sleep!
I definitely want to see more meal kits like these! It seems like a lot of work, but it looks so tasty!

The efforts in making it probably contributed to the deliciousness of the chicken rice :)
Very happy to be here. Thank you for this wonderful trip. Always glad when visiting your channel!

One advantage to these kits is that all spices are included. For people that cook infrequently, they do not have unused spice jars taking up room.
It's even more spot on with the yellow and green plate and the red bowl (even the chilli bowl!)
i have never clicked to a video fast enough but i have officially done it
Seeing that golden chicken fat floating on top made my mouth water! I had to grab a snack even though I had just eaten a big meal!
Last time I made chicken rice it was canned chicken and Uncle Bens precooked rice. I added chili flakes and green onions. I was grateful.
