Honestly, when you said ‘Gran Turismo but it’s an RPG for weebs’, I think of Racing Lagoon which funnily enough, is also a Racing RPG made by a developer who is mostly known for RPG as well (this case being Square) and I think it executed the CaRPG concept much better. The English fan translation was released not too long ago so the language barrier is finally lifted for the many who are interested in the game but couldn’t get into it due to said language barrier.
I appreciate this bro It's nice having someone talk about some obscure game There's usually only silent playthroughs/demonstrations and a Wikipedia article if you're lucky
"Make" and "Do" are often the same word in other languages, so I assume they meant "what the hell are you gonna do?". But it still sounds so weird for a tagline.
At the time, Takashige shichijyo was working as the head of the development department for this game. Currently, it seems that he is engaged in activities such as photographer and wed design.
Isn't that one of those Choro Q games that got localized? It's kind of odd, since I only ever watched it when I was much younger and went really deep into UA-cam
Speaking of obscure Japanese racing games, you might want to talk about Rally de Europe and Rally de Africa, arcade rally games a la Sega Rally made for PS1. Also, this game on the video looks nice, it even has voice acting, when compared to Racing Lagoon (also a racing RPG) that has none.
"The Abandoned Garage" idk, it's a crappy name too but it's something. Glad to see you're still making cool videos. Your channel is growing! It'll only get faster from here.
Great video! Too bad you got stuck by the language barrier. Here's an idea for a next video on this theme. Racing Lagoon on PS1 : the game is mostly japanese but you can finish it without having notions of it. Another Racing/RPG, made by Square before 2000. The difficulty curve is absurd, but once you get a grip of the handling the game's really nice. There's even a wikia if you need translations :D
Racing Lagoon is awesome, I actually worked on a translation for it and got 50% of the game translated but the guy who was the coder and injected stuff into the game suddenly disappeared and I dropped the project completely because of it, I still think about it sometimes and I feel bad that I couldn't complete it, even to this day no one seems interested in hacking the game and sadly I'm no programmer.
@@AJ-po6up If only more people knew about this game >< Maybe one day someone will finish it, who knows Once you master the save screen and read about the items on the wikia the game is fully playable SaveStating is a good idea before choosing a line of text
Team6 has so many great (read: terrible) titles that are absolutely hilarious and bonkers. They were a pretty big part of my childhood, because demos for most of their games were always floating around in those freeware websites that used to be popular in the mid 2000s.
I can give you more www.gametop.com/category/racing.html There were more like super cars police racing I guess lol I used to play a lot when I was a kid
Anyone who thinks that this game is impressive 3D for the Saturn has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. Sorry but ignorance isn't an excuse here, they are plenty of 3D games that blow this crap out of the water, even if clearly 2D was the consoles strong point. Nicely made video otherwise though.

You need more subs, I'm genuinely enjoying this series. And can't wait to see more.
4:10 okay, that is literally the gas station manager from Initial D…

Road Trip Adventure is actually a really fun game that no one heard of. You should try it

@@fae_gavan7582 Yes, and it was one of the most memorable games in the PS2 era for me alongside the Tokyo Xtreme Racer games.

Do Racing Lagoon! It got an English translation from fans a few months ago. It's super addictive!
*4:06** IS THAT AN INITIAL D REFERENCE?!? 😳*
Road Trip Adventure as a low budget title?? I feel ofended

the full translation for racing lagoon is out now! been playing the hell out of it recently
Dude I love this series, I look forward to more games like this
I'd like to suggest "European Street Racing" by... Team6 Studios
Damn team6. That's one goldmine for shitty video games. I remember playing downtown challenge and Manhattan chase in my childhood lol
@@usrnewxnew5227 they also made the Horrendous FlatOut 3.. Which is one of the worst Rated Video Games on Steam

You could try Automodellista or that one game by Atlus
Everywhere Road Trip was really good for its time tbh.
Can you look into more old, obscure races with bigger budgets? I think the To,yo Extreme Racer series would work.
Speaking about RPG racer, how about Initial D Another Stage for GBA? Unique game for sure. I hope someday there in deep review about that game
There's no English translation patch or something?
New subscriber here,
a follow up on your NFS Underground For GBA video covering NFS Underground 2 for GBA would be awesome.

What, now!
where did you hit?
Did my pressure work?
what happened?
I want to sleep…
Maybe Total Drivin/Car & Driver Presents: Grand Tour Racing '98 is obscure?

Yeah this looks worse than the original Daytona USA port.
@@dudinacas Exactly
Looks more like virtua racing
Sega Saturn was a pos extremely over priced with sub par games and terrible graphics .
dont you dare diss Road Trip: Adventure
