My plan for my IM 40 gallon Fusion is 2 media baskets, and 1 fuge, the other accessory chamber will be used for a Protein skimmer, this is gonna be a fun aquarium build I can already see it
I'm a little confused. You put filter floss in the media basket and then place the filter floss holder on top of the media basket so its double floss?. Or is it if you get the media basket you dont need the filter floss holder? I am purchasing the fusion cube 15 for my wife and just trying to get her everything she needs for success. Thanks in advance . Almost forgot. I bought the media basket and refugium for my biocube 32 and it changed the game. My tank is thriving and beautiful. thank you!
Get the media basket and you do not need the floss holder :) Some IM aquariums have dual intakes so customers can use a floss holder under one intake and a media basket under the second. Thank you !
Make sure not to overstuff the top chamber past the part that is supposed to go under the little intake chamber ledge, or it won't lean properly and you'll have a good amount of water bypass the entire media basket by going in between the basket and the false wall.
@@Baka_Mop I have a issue with mine not leaning lol. I moved around the media bags thinking it may have been a weight distribution issue. No matter what I did I lean the basket and it standa straight up when I let it go. I just have a piece of wood out of the water against the tank and the basket pushing the basket to the wall. I was actually thinking about putting the sock throat came with the tank.
@@sinatra617 maybe air is getting trapped somewhere in the chamber? Does the front part go under the ledge and pop back out? Maybe the front cover isn't pulled down all the way? You could try putting heavy dense aquarium rocks or something in one of the chambers to keep it down. I stuffed mine with a bunch of carbon and media rocks and it leans just enough to go under the ledge. It's decently heavy when I take it out too. Don't use filter socks unless you wanna clean them every other day. They trap everything, including good bacteria, and makes your water worse if you forget to clean them.
New to fishkeeping and decided to set up a freshwater first. Do I use just the sock as my filtration system in the media chamber? Or the media basket? Or is the media basket only for saltwater aquariums? What goes in the middle chamber? I have fusion peninsula 20.
All baskets can be used in fresh or saltwater. The Media Basket or Filter floss holder would be a much better choice for the intake chamber. In the accessory chamber you can use the Fuge basket for bioball or biological filtration media. Thanks. intankaquatics.com/fusion-pro-20/
So would you recommend the filter floss holder instead of where the filter sock would normally go? I ask this because i have the 10 gallon fusion pro and there is already a sponge in the caddy it came with. Extra one on the other side cant hurt i guess. What size reusable media bags do i need for replacing with chemi pure blue in the caddy? Thanks in advance!
Use filter floss on top of the caddy they include. Sponges are dirty and lead to nitrates. If you want additional media, larger media, or to create a refugium in the accessory chamber use our Fuge basket. intankaquatics.com/innovative-marine-fusion-nano-lagoon-peninsula-fuge-basket/ These fit will in the chamber one basket: intankaquatics.com/boyd-chemi-pure-blue-nano-5-pack/
@@inTankLLC Sorry, i meant filter floss in the caddy, not sponge. Already have filter floss and media in the caddy. Just wanted to know about swapping out the sock for that filter floss holder instead. Not the refugium. Also, wouldnt it be cheaper to purchase the 11 oz chemi-pure blue and refill the media myself with reusable media bags? You guys sell the bags?
@@nicknasty14 If you are using a filter sock then yes use the filter floss holder instead. Much cleaner. Just figured you were using their basket in chamber one all the time. If you mixed up the media really well I suppose you could do that to save money. Just make sure the bag is sealed well and again it is mixed up as the proportions are important. We sell the 11oz Blue and also stock a media bag: intankaquatics.com/south-ocean-five-4-x-12-filter-bag/
@@inTankLLC which heater would you recommend for the pump chamber? the Neotherms are too long and must be mounted vertically? I really want to run your Fuge basket AND a skimmer but I'm scratching my head on which heater and where to put it. I currently have the Cobalt neotherm 100W, but it's ont going to work with the set up I am after. Advice?
@@inTankLLC OK... thanks. I guess I'm a little confused by how much of the heater must be submerged as the return pump chamber runs with a slightly lower volume/water level. There must be some wiggle room then for the 100W heater which is approx 10" long.

Would you suggest the aqua shield uv light that was made for the 10g nuvo fusion? Im hearing they arent very good for reef tanks. Thanks!
No. Do not use.
I am just curious? where do you mount the heater??????
That depends but the pump chamber will work.
I'm assuming you're suggesting cutting the vinyl off of the back so light can get to the keto??

Anyone know if they will fit the Nuvo 16?
No the chambers on the 16 are less wide and deep.
